Re: Soapbox: Sony Is Making More Live Service Games for PS5, PS4, And I'm Excited

themcnoisy

I enjoy live services games, there's a place for good multiplayer games. The minute I am asked for Battle Passes or microtransaction money I will do what content I can for free and gradually move away to something else. Usually a single player game or 5.

I think the missing point is my favourite service games are all single player / multiplayer hybrids. Like the older Call of Dutys, Burnout paradise, Street Fighter 4, Forza Horizon, Tetris Effect etc.

The problems happen when you the get Street Fighter 5 with no real single player. I need the SP to git gud. And then can have the odd game of multiplayer as a side to the main course.

I feel many younger gamers just want the multiplayer.

Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

@Jay429 Miles Morales is better than Forza or Halo and Im currently 2 weeks into Forza and on the fifth mission of halo (I think been running the open world stuff mostly and rescuing marines). Miles Morales blew my mind, the story, animations and skyline are ridiculously good quality. Forza is great but the human animations are poor and it becomes very samey after a while, best open world racer? I would say so, the amount of cars is frightening, it's looks fabulous and the gameplay wicked but it not miles Morales which is a top top game. I would give Forza a 9 and MM a 9.5.

Halo infinite is overrated, as a fan of the original Xbox and 360 series up to Reach Halo I have no idea why the internet is buzzing off it. The gameplay is tight and the grapple is boss. But where as you had an overarching war in the passed games and a story progression you could believe in. Now you have 1 marine guarding a fob whilst groups of banished wander around which could easily overpower him but never do. It's a solid game but the story, open world and characters are contrived. Compared to MM and his story, open world and relationships. It's not a fair comparison as Halo Loses on all 3 counts and easily. Halo sits at a 6.5 so far but Im open minded and have a long way to go, hopefully the biomes start opening up as fed up of looking at the same backdrops tbh.

My wife bought me an Xbox series X for my birthday.

The start up is slow
The menus are slow
The controller is cheap
Adverts absolutely everywhere
Gamepass seems cool

Right now PS5 seems like comparing a Yaris GR rally car to a 1 litre Yaris with free door mats. It wins hands down. Yes gamepass is great but it's being massively hyped and I'm unsure if it has the lasting appeal especially if it's at £15-£20 a month. I've just come off platting Miles Morales and it was quick at everything and an absolute blast. I doubt Xbox can compete right now. Here's hoping it improves when I finally get to play Flight simulator or Forza Horizon 5 later on after the million hour download.

Anyone not picking Mass Effect is a bit of a joker. Ede they have their Tali in a spin or its Mordin than can handle. Its great, it wrex other trilogies and shepherds the player through the best story in gaming. Normandy I would have a less biased view but if you haven't already jacked it up I'm gonna mako you play it. Now Garrus a beer and sit down to the space opera in the sky. Okaiden?

Re: Game of the Year: #9 - Disco Elysium: The Final Cut

I really enjoyed Disco until I was soft locked

To preface, this is unarguably my most researched game since Streets of Rage 4. I read a copious amount of reviews. Binged watched YouTube videos (all spoiler free) and couldn't wait to jump in.

The opening 15 hours blew me away. I wanted to play the game as a morally correct recovering alcoholic. The writing is phenomenal, like if @get2sammyb drank 6 red bulls and decided to make a game. As I wanted to read as much as possible my skills mostly sat on the top two lines. I dismissed authority early doors as I wanted to have a kind of self reflecting beta cop in comparison to the narcissistic drunk you inherit.

Needless to say I got soft locked as my authority was at -2 due to my thought cabinet and there's a point you can't get passed if you fail the roll. I was devastated. And still am.

Re: The Game Awards' Final Round of Fan Voting for Players' Voice Award Live

@LiamCroft 'Yeah, it is a bit dodgy that a game that technically hasn't been released yet is leading, but maybe, just maybe, people are simply voting for what they enjoy.'

But how do you know you enjoy it, if you haven't played it?

Come on this is crazy talk. I know it's the 21st century and anything goes. But just imagine an Oscar going to Prometheus pre release as it was set in the Alien franchise. See, crazy.

@AdamNovice is right. A game which hasn't been released shouldn't be included. Maybe in the most exciting prospect category or something. But this just stinks. Especially when full on boss games which have released are getting jibbed.

Re: Porsche Vision GT Coming Exclusively to Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, PS4

@nessisonett it's true. I have a hybrid now and after driving the Audi A5, Merc C220 and Golf GTD (not to forget my Toyota Yaris and Mini Metro) my supposedly worse Toyota Corolla GR Sport hybrid goes 0-40 in no time at all. Well quicker acceleration. It struggles after 50 mph but other than on the motorway when the A5 and C220 are way better, it my favourite car driving through Liverpool.

Re: Soapbox: I Think I'm Over Trophies

themcnoisy

I love trophies/achievements but once I jibbed the 360 for the PS4, I wasn't as bothered.

To keep up with everyone else I just look for a game with easy trophies. Like Jack n Jill DX and Adventure on the prairie. And I do love a bit of Mayo. Apparently it's getting a sequel. Nice.

Re: All Marvel's Avengers Cosmetics Pegged at $3,400

I would rather buy;

LG C1: £1200
PS5: £500
Spare Dualsense: £60
Controller charger: £20
Streets of Rage 4: £20
Infinity Saga Collectors edition: £400
Pair of Nike Air Max 90: £100
Hugo Boss Aftershave: £30
Marks and Spencer Cake Hamper: £50
Domino's: £20

And still have a grand left over.
