@Keyblade-Dan I agree, love my single player games. The reality is all the popular games are online bar a few holdouts. Which is disappointing but it is what it is.
I like it. But if you play with a couple of friends making it 3 people it's too easy. In coop it's pretty good but you play for the xp rather than the story. I dislike PvP as Im too slow, so this PvE in a similar arena works for me.
@Jay429 Miles Morales is better than Forza or Halo and Im currently 2 weeks into Forza and on the fifth mission of halo (I think been running the open world stuff mostly and rescuing marines). Miles Morales blew my mind, the story, animations and skyline are ridiculously good quality. Forza is great but the human animations are poor and it becomes very samey after a while, best open world racer? I would say so, the amount of cars is frightening, it's looks fabulous and the gameplay wicked but it not miles Morales which is a top top game. I would give Forza a 9 and MM a 9.5.
Halo infinite is overrated, as a fan of the original Xbox and 360 series up to Reach Halo I have no idea why the internet is buzzing off it. The gameplay is tight and the grapple is boss. But where as you had an overarching war in the passed games and a story progression you could believe in. Now you have 1 marine guarding a fob whilst groups of banished wander around which could easily overpower him but never do. It's a solid game but the story, open world and characters are contrived. Compared to MM and his story, open world and relationships. It's not a fair comparison as Halo Loses on all 3 counts and easily. Halo sits at a 6.5 so far but Im open minded and have a long way to go, hopefully the biomes start opening up as fed up of looking at the same backdrops tbh.
My wife bought me an Xbox series X for my birthday.
The start up is slow The menus are slow The controller is cheap Adverts absolutely everywhere Gamepass seems cool
Right now PS5 seems like comparing a Yaris GR rally car to a 1 litre Yaris with free door mats. It wins hands down. Yes gamepass is great but it's being massively hyped and I'm unsure if it has the lasting appeal especially if it's at £15-£20 a month. I've just come off platting Miles Morales and it was quick at everything and an absolute blast. I doubt Xbox can compete right now. Here's hoping it improves when I finally get to play Flight simulator or Forza Horizon 5 later on after the million hour download.
@UnlimitedSevens If you die less the game is easier. I got to B3 on my second Life in a new save. But it's kind of counterintuitive to not look around for me, I take games really slow and it's just too much for my 41 year old eyes to react to.
Anyone not picking Mass Effect is a bit of a joker. Ede they have their Tali in a spin or its Mordin than can handle. Its great, it wrex other trilogies and shepherds the player through the best story in gaming. Normandy I would have a less biased view but if you haven't already jacked it up I'm gonna mako you play it. Now Garrus a beer and sit down to the space opera in the sky. Okaiden?
To preface, this is unarguably my most researched game since Streets of Rage 4. I read a copious amount of reviews. Binged watched YouTube videos (all spoiler free) and couldn't wait to jump in.
The opening 15 hours blew me away. I wanted to play the game as a morally correct recovering alcoholic. The writing is phenomenal, like if @get2sammyb drank 6 red bulls and decided to make a game. As I wanted to read as much as possible my skills mostly sat on the top two lines. I dismissed authority early doors as I wanted to have a kind of self reflecting beta cop in comparison to the narcissistic drunk you inherit.
Needless to say I got soft locked as my authority was at -2 due to my thought cabinet and there's a point you can't get passed if you fail the roll. I was devastated. And still am.
@KundaliniRising333 most people aren't good enough to play elite sports. I for instance have a 50p foot and constantly need lucozade sport just to get off the couch. Let alone play for the mighty Accrington Stanley. Who are they I hear you foreigners say? Exactly.
@LiamCroft 'Yeah, it is a bit dodgy that a game that technically hasn't been released yet is leading, but maybe, just maybe, people are simply voting for what they enjoy.'
But how do you know you enjoy it, if you haven't played it?
Come on this is crazy talk. I know it's the 21st century and anything goes. But just imagine an Oscar going to Prometheus pre release as it was set in the Alien franchise. See, crazy.
@AdamNovice is right. A game which hasn't been released shouldn't be included. Maybe in the most exciting prospect category or something. But this just stinks. Especially when full on boss games which have released are getting jibbed.
@lolwhatno Fortnite is great, go and have a go. You have battle royale, 4 player teams, building, quests, mechs, adrenaline fuelled action and great performance. It's just really difficult to manage the mechanics compared to youngsters who've grown up with it. It's not my favourite game but then again RL tickles that pickle if I need it.
@nessisonett it's true. I have a hybrid now and after driving the Audi A5, Merc C220 and Golf GTD (not to forget my Toyota Yaris and Mini Metro) my supposedly worse Toyota Corolla GR Sport hybrid goes 0-40 in no time at all. Well quicker acceleration. It struggles after 50 mph but other than on the motorway when the A5 and C220 are way better, it my favourite car driving through Liverpool.
Played this game 6 months ago and had a great time. Bugs have been ironed out and I enjoyed the game, it can be repetitive but that's the pseudo genre its in - like a trimmed dynasty warriors. Surprised I enjoyed it so much.
GTA V is gone but not forgotten. Like many things which previously sat in a chart for ages like the Simpsons, Wet wet wet and Hungry Hippos. Always nice to play once in a while until you realise how bad they are now.
Launch with 20 fighters and a hidden extra character for finishing the game and we are dandy. Anything less and it's not good enough Imo. Also 20 stages and some extras as well please. Throw in some classic stages.
I love trophies/achievements but once I jibbed the 360 for the PS4, I wasn't as bothered.
To keep up with everyone else I just look for a game with easy trophies. Like Jack n Jill DX and Adventure on the prairie. And I do love a bit of Mayo. Apparently it's getting a sequel. Nice.
LG C1: £1200 PS5: £500 Spare Dualsense: £60 Controller charger: £20 Streets of Rage 4: £20 Infinity Saga Collectors edition: £400 Pair of Nike Air Max 90: £100 Hugo Boss Aftershave: £30 Marks and Spencer Cake Hamper: £50 Domino's: £20
Terrible year for games. I've seen comments saying there have been good but not great games. Y'all need to play some of the games from last gen and wake up. Mass Effect remaster and the 4k versions of older games are way better than that top 5 combined. This year has had possibly 2 good games for the whole year.
The two biggest for me were Returnal and Disco Elysium. Both big let downs. Returnals okay, but veers too wacky and has some strange progression mechanics. It's frustrating rather than fun and I much prefer Nex Machina due to the camera position. Then Disco Elysium is again overrated to a ridiculous degree, it's new, novel and the writing is great. Wrapped in a monkey island style gameplay loop which went out of fashion on the Amiga. Slow, cumbersome with laggy controls and the game soft locked me due to gated progression. Appalling.
I've had more fun with Monster Hunter and Borderlands 2 than anything released this year outside of mass effect. Dire.
@colonelkilgore I don't think so. It's a looter shooter not dissimilar to diablo for its loot. Destiny is a kind of 2nd cousin removed. Worth having a mooch one night in SP and then we can get together for an online game in a couple of weeks.
I've been eyeing up the handsome collection we got on ps plus if anyone is down for a few goes?
I got quite far in BL1, put it down for some reason - I think my online and also unemployed att mates on the 360 ran too far ahead of me. Enjoyed it nonetheless. So yeah if anyone fancies running BL2 give me a shout/poke/friend request.
With the Italian plumber strapped across the box it would by a goty contender. As it stands I absolutely loved it!
Astrobot is obviously Astrobot so it's fuppin fire. And then I had a difficult choice. Nothing scratches my itches so far and Returnal is good but not amazing, Disco Elysium has soft locked me. So yeah not overly happy giving either of them a tick. So plumped for FFV7, free upgrade woop woop.
Now get us some more games Sony. Fed up with watching Xbox bringing the fire whilst we are fed scraps. 2022 can't come soon enough.

Spiderman MM is amazing and underrated. What a great looking game.
Re: PS Plus' Deep Rock Galactic Has So Much Day One PS5, PS4 DLC

New armour used to be a reward for completing stuff in game. Like Miles Morales for example. Just imagine if that needs an extra £15 to swap suits.

Well done @Hospanicguy joining our winners from previous years.
I do feel shirtless police officer was seen off though.
Re: George R. R. Martin Thinks Elden Ring Looks 'Incredible'
@Integrity this is unfair. George is 73 now, so retirement age when GOT was in its latter stages. He was prolific as a youngster.
Re: Not Everyone Had the Fortitude to Finish Returnal on PS5
Anyone saying 'iTs NoT tHaT hArD' is insane.
I love housemarque games and Returnal is by far the most difficult. Biome 3 and that's it for me.
In many ways I wish it wasn't a rogue like as in forums they talk about weapons and abilities I haven't seen on my runs.

Re: Tekken 7's New Definitive Edition Is Hilariously Overpriced
I bought Tekken and the first and second season passes were included with the game in a Sony store sale. It was about £25 if memory serves me right.
It was enjoyable and the gameplay is still great. But that price is ridiculous.
