Completed "Thank Goodness You Are Here" - gameplay may be simple but how madly brilliant and funny. Loved it!.
My daughter has been obsessed with Goat Simulator 3 and we just have the Farmer Boss fight to go.
I also picked up Griftlands on sale. Pretty cool roguelike / deckbuilder that makes much better use of the story component compared with a Slay the Spire or Monster Train but still trying to get my head around the Negotiate mechanics and card deck
the challenge is real. what games in the BF Sale may end up on PS Plus? that said Christmas is coming and my daughter is keen on quite a few older games that don't really interest me and I wouldn't really want to pay full price on so I suspect some purchases will be incoming.
I know that Clair Obscur is going to clean up but that Split Fiction is not on the shortlist for GoTY staggers me. For me it covers so many bases in what makes gaming great from storytelling to graphics to sounds BUT most importantly a game that absolutely anyone can pick up and play regardless of age, gender, gaming ability and a game that rewards playing together. It is a game that will stick with me and my daughter for years to come; not just the game but the experience that we had as a team.
More co-op games like this please. Astrobot co-op would be amazing!!
I will finish Stray, which has been super enjoyable.
Another chapter of As Dusk Falls - i quite like the graphic novel style tho swiping the QTE doesn't always seem to work. Probably user error!
Will try to get back into Silent Hill 2. But I think I have worked out finally I don't really like 3rd person horror. Much prefer FPS as with RE Village and so pleased that is the option for Requiem
My daughter will want some game time so will probably do a few Overcooked levels.
Have added Where Winds Meet to catalogue but sceptical and will probably wait till new year to have a look
@Stevemalkpus because people like nothing better than a good old moan.
Very cool month for me with 3 definites - Pacific, Still and Thank Goodness. Need to do a read up about the others (not GTA!) and I am sure at least 1 of the 5 will interest
All over BALLXPIT. Another fantastic "just one more run" game. Join the likes of Balatro, Inscryption, Monster Train and Slay The Spire in sucking my time - in a good way! Proof that you don't need fancy graphics and huge budgets. Plus another $20 (ish) (in Australia) game which, with budgets tight, is another huge plus. Great value.
cycled back to some early "classics" i haven't got round to. Resident Evil Village which I have to say i prefer to RE4 as I like the FPS view. Glad Requiem will have both options. Plus Returnal. I really like it but as I am a terrible gamer I am struggling with the difficulty level somewhat, so will have to see how fun i find it after the 100th time dying!
I buy these games for the campaign. Mostly because I am far too bad to bother playing online multiplayer. So this is very disappointing to hear 😩 Another PSPlus wait then.
absolutely devastated that there is no local co-op. Having played the 1st 2 games that was what was absolutely needed. Will wait for it to go on sale / come to Plus.
completed Lego Voyagers last night with my daughter. we had a blast. they could have definitely taken the concept further and sometimes the controls are a little fiddly but it looks gorgeous, has some really creative ideas - especially in the 2nd half - and never overstays its welcome.
For various reasons I have fallen into the Dark Pictures Anthology. We can debate how much of a game they really are but I am really addicted to the cheesy b-movie horror story lines. And have jumped quite a few times.
i really wanted to love the original more than i did but after about 10 hours i just gave up. Partly the combat, partly the open world where developers pretend you are getting value but it is a lot of the same dressed up. I would much rather have a 14 hour game full of ideas than an 80 hour slog.
The only open world I have truly loved has been RDR2. And I am still playing that.
This looks great but I know straight off the bat I wouldn't get much further than 10 hours again
chronoscript looked the most interesting and original game for me. vaguely interested to see how Crimson and Nioh 3 turn out even though they are not 100% my thing. maybe Saros, despite the hate. plus Wolverine but that's a year away so....
been keen for cocoon so very pleased that is coming in October. my daugther will be pleased that (the probably age inappropriate) goat simulator 3 is coming too.
@kyleforrester87 surely they have?? Who on earth compares Silent Hill F with Baby Steps??
In the surreal games world Baby Steps in the eyes of Push Square is Very Good and for those into this style of game they are definitely recommending
In the survival games world SHF is good. But just don't expect it to be the next RE. Plus for those that just bought the remake SH maybe expectations should be tempered
I have zero problem in determining whether I think a game is for me from their reviews. And am yet to disagree on one i have purchased/downloaded
Maybe Push Square (if they don't already) should have a league table of reviews by genre?
Addendum: as an example a JPRG has to have a minimum 9/10 for me to consider as they are not my cup of tea. But a couch co-op can be a 6 or 7 as i know that is "good enough" for me to have fun with my daughter. It is not about whether the 9/10 is better or worse than the 6/10.
planning on finishing Lego Voyagers with my daugther. It is no Split Fiction but we have had a ball together through the relatively short 5 hour run time. Mostly at 5 hours because we have buggered around building for no real reason!! It definitely has scope to grow so hopefully they look at creating some add-ons. I am also at 80% in the main quest of Indiana Jones but have been getting distracted by Fieldwork / Side Quests. The clunkiness still remains but so does the fun factor.
Been hanging for a new couch coop game to play with my 11yo daughter since we binged Split Fiction and It Takes Two (she was much better than me and we beat both because of her!)
A longer run time would have been great but at $35 (Australian) this seems a no brainer.
I am still one of the 7 people who subscribe to Premium so started playing the trial of Indiana Jones. Got so caught up in the adventure that when the 2hrs were up I immediately purchased. The fighting is clunky, the stealth a bit rudimentary with dumb AI but they have nailed the spirit and essence of Indy perfectly. Great fun 😁
Pyschonauts 2 is great! Pity I have it. Not fussed on the other 2. But last few months have already bolstered my library to "out of control" status, so not overly bothered!
Me and my 11yo daughter are loving gaming together (p.s she is way better than me). Split Fiction, It Takes Two and Sackboy have been co-op faves and this looks right up our alley. As long as it is at least a 6 will definitely pick this up
Having finally beaten Inscryption during the week it is now all been Monster Train 2. I seem to be addicted to deck builders at the moment even though i am truly terrible about them. Just something about the "just one more run....."
bit gutted there is no couch co-op though. my 11yo daughter loves the first 2 but hated that we kept having to swap controllers to have a go. we would much rather be able to play it together. and no I am not buying her her own ps5 and putting her in another room! haha!
there was some interesting looking co-op stuff in Out of Words and Lego Voyagers. And MIO looked kinda interesting too. But a lot of dull soulslike, JRPG and team shooty games. Everyone hyped for Resi Evil but I have struggled a bit with the last 2 - just personal. Looks good though.
it had me at James Bond. nothing else really grabbed me. i am interested in the look of Baby Steps and Cairn but not sure they are really my type of games.

Re: First PS Plus Essential Game for October 2025 Leaked
It IS great. But I personally found the novelty wore off after around 8hrs of play. I need to go back to it and complete it.
Huge win, if true, for those that don't have it though.

@Stevemalkpus Sword of the Sea is great. I smashed it out in 2 days. I have downloaded Harold too despite the mixed reviews. Seems interesting.

Re: These 26+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out Next Week (15th-21st September)
Hoping Lego Voyagers is half decent as I need another good couch coop to play with my 11yo daughter 🤞

Beat my 1st runs on Monster Train 2 and Slay The Spire.
Want to complete Dave The Diver and then crack into Sword of the Sea
If my 11yo behaves we have nearly completed Sackboy
Re: Cute Co-Op Puzzle Platformer LEGO Voyagers Comes to PS5, PS4 in September

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025 Announced
Lies of P. Nice. And don't forget @everyone that Sword of the Sea drops free for subscribers next month too. Looks great. Though might not be!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
@EfYI oh man i better get STS as well as MT then!!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
@Shadeon_Koopa thanks mate. Based on this and @4fold response I will pick up MT this weekend and put in the queue
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
@4fold thanks! On it 👌
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
@thefourfoldroot1 would love your thoughts on MT2
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
@EfYI see my post below. I should have scrolled comments first. If I like Inscryption and Balatro will I like Slay?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 591
Close to finishing both Inscryption and Dave the Diver. Both incredibly addictive Indies.
Talking of Indies Balatro will get an outing as usual
I am actually very new to rogue like card builders.
If I like the above will I like Monster Train and/or Slay the Spire? Any chance they will hit PS Plus??
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 590
Picked up Inscryption in the sale and absolutely addicted. I mean I am pretty rubbish at it but another cracking indie game.
Re: 10 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for July 2025
My "to play" list which is already very long just got a whole lot longer. Excellent month 👊

Detroit Become Human. Really enjoying this. Appreciate it is more interactive movie than game but I am definitely sucked in. It looks great too!
Re: LEGO Voyagers Looks Like an Adorable Co-Op Puzzle Platformer on PS5, PS4
Right up my alley. And 1 of the few bright spots of creativity in a sea of soulslike, JRPG and Multi player shooters on display at Summer Fest
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest 2025?
there was some interesting looking co-op stuff in Out of Words and Lego Voyagers. And MIO looked kinda interesting too. But a lot of dull soulslike, JRPG and team shooty games. Everyone hyped for Resi Evil but I have struggled a bit with the last 2 - just personal. Looks good though.

Pumped. 2 games have been super keen to try but not sure if they would be for me. Instant downloads to see.
