Re: The Outer Worlds 2 (PS5) - Mechanically Fantastic RPG Struggles to Be Memorable

@Nintendo4Sonic good for them. They bought up a ton of legacy studios and they released games this year. Not one of them is a game that's going to remembered as truly great. I have no idea what you are even on about. They own half the industry at this point so of course they're going to put out multiple 77 metacritic games a year. They have no system sellers or they would've sold systems. And yeah, get a gaming pc before shelling out a thousand plus dollars for the next Microsoft branded box they release and call it an Xbox. Sony and Nintendo maybe can release 2 first party games a year just because they don't have 50 studios. Meanwhile the actual Xbox franchises not named Forza are dying. Gotta buy up existing IPs to be successful. And not just existing ones but the biggest ones. I just hope my beloved Doublefine isn't the next studio to get canned.

Is another NetEase studio now. I can hardly blame them for trying as a Star Wars game these days is no guarantee and I have to imagine the licensing is expensive. Still a shame because I loved Become Human. Hopefully NetEase will let them continue to make the games they are known for but at this point, does anyone even remember them besides us old gamers?

Re: Talking Point: Are You Getting Sick of Sony's Supposedly 'Samey' Approach to Story Telling?

Who doesn't love a good revenge tale? I haven't started Yotei yet. I'm waiting until tomorrow when I have a good chunk of time to sink into it. Action games and movies often have revenge as the motivation for the protagonist. If you're gong to be killing hundreds of bad guys, there's only so many plot devices to justify it. Its either a big evil bad guy, zombies, revenge, or war...off the top of my head. It's really the way the story is told and having characters you care about that matter IMO

@Scottyy I disagree about your Silksong take. While I personally wouldn't put it up there, I have to appreciate anything hand drawn in a world dominated by photogrammetry and mocap. Me, personally, I think TLoU Part1 and 2 take the prize. But most of the games mentioned, you could make a case for

@kcarnes9051 The movement looks fantastic and tbat to me is the most important fundamental. I just wish I didn't just start Pirate Yakuza and just bought the new Donkey Kong game. Haven't even taken my switch 2 out of the box yet. Those two were supposed to hold me over til Ghost of Yotei.

Re: A Quote from a Sony Exec Is Causing a Hubbub Among PS5 Fans Again

@TrollOfWar Elden Ring is a once in a generation game. It was a cultural phenomenon. Its one of those rare single player console type games that actually sold more on PC than console making it the first Fromsoft game to do so.. And taking your higher number of 1.2 million (I'm not sure where you got this number since console specific sales are almost impossible to find) on Xbox out of 19 million total sales (not sure if this includes ps plus players) of Death Stranding is quite small. I didn't literally mean no one buys games on Xbox but it's fair to say that Microsofts main goal is to sell subscriptions. So is it better for sony to release their first party library on Xbox or put it on their own subscription service after a year or so? We'll see soon enough. I think it makes sense for multiplayer and live service games but not much sense for single player but that's just my opinion.

Re: A Quote from a Sony Exec Is Causing a Hubbub Among PS5 Fans Again

@HonestHick I have a switch and a PC as well as a PS5. There's literally no reason for me to buy an Xbox when there is PC gamepass. I do, however, mostly use my ps5 because it's just more convenient and I sit in front of a computer all day for work so I'd rather play on my nice TV from my couch. I do not just buy exclusives except on switch. First party exclusives are literally the only reason I see to buy a Switch especially now when there are a miriad of handheld options I buy all types of games but Sonys first party titles were what got me into their ecosystem. I just got a nice gaming pc two years ago so the overwhelming majority of my library is on Playstation. I personally don't care what Sony does as long as they keep investing in their first party studios. I simply do not see the advantage of releasing first party games on Xbox this generation. Maybe they do and I'm fine with that but I seriously doubt it. I also don't see them releasing day one on PC. They lose 30% to Valve and they just don't need to

Re: A Quote from a Sony Exec Is Causing a Hubbub Among PS5 Fans Again

@HonestHick That is simply a stupid statement. The reason Sony sells so much hardware is because of the games they make. Nobody is making money off Xbox game sales since they don't sell games. How many times does it have to be said? It's not worth putting your game on Xbox unless it's on gamepass or free to play/live service.

Re: Death Stranding 2 (PS5) - A Masterpiece in Every Sense

@EfYI I recently tried to replay it and it just wasn't as fun as when I played it at launch. There seemed to be no one helping me build or liking the transportation networks I spent hours building. During launch, new things would pop up daily and you really felt like you were helping strangers make the journey with you and they were helping you back.

Re: Death Stranding 2 (PS5) - A Masterpiece in Every Sense

@DreadfulDragon @Darude84 just because you didn't enjoy the gameplay loop doesn't mean it isn't good. I loved building structures with complete strangers and feeling like I was on a lonely journey in the world they created. If all your about is gameplay, I wonder why your on a Playstation site. They are a story focused company. Nintendo has plenty of what you're looking for. And I say that as a person who grew up on Nintendo

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Black Myth: Wukong?

@Kiefer-Sutherland if you just spam attack you're not going to get very far. Playing in PC and it's great. Not bad for a studios first game. There are quality of life issues like the lack of a map and shrines that don't stand out enough and tend to be behind rocks when you're trying to find one to fast travel...I would just find myself dying just so I could get back to one. Also being able to use the healing flask at full health is annoying. I dont mind the invisible walls. To me it's pretty clear in most instances where you can and can't go and I definitely appreciate not falling off narrow pathways all the time.
