Re: Guerrilla: Cross-Gen Has Not Limited Horizon Forbidden West in Any Way

mvhess

@Talon_Zanarkand Somehow I only read your last paragraph. I was simply pointing out that the first party games so far aren't just resolution bumps. They incorporate all the ps5 features. But true next Gen experiences won't come until mid cycle. I think we're essentially saying the same thing. Horizon and GoW were never announced as PS5 exclusives.

Re: Guerrilla: Cross-Gen Has Not Limited Horizon Forbidden West in Any Way

mvhess

@Talon_Zanarkand you don't know that to be true. Insomniac, for example, has completely different technologies and strategies at work for how hair is rendered for ps4 and ps5 versions of Miles Morales. It's not simply higher res. Game engines have to be completely reworked to take advantage of the new hardware. These games you all are complaining about started development a while ago.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Will Have a Very Achievable Platinum Trophy

mvhess

@trev666 Who cares? Don't you play the game for the graphics, game play and story? I just don't get people caring about arbitrary trophies. Especially those people that call themselves trophy hunters. Playing a game simply because you can automatically get 3 platinum by importing your save cross Gen isn't impressive and I couldn't care less how many platinum trophies some one has. It breaks immersion. Like I'm going to jump off this cliff and die because there is a trophy for it.

Re: PS Plus April 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

mvhess

@thefourfoldroot because they aren't curating their content for just you. Eventually most ps4 games will have been on psnow at some point in time. So you're saying all those games are off limits because you have both services? And Days Gone is no longer on psnow so they arent selling it to you twice. You think Xbox Gold only gets games that were never on game pass?

Re: PS Plus April 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

mvhess

@thefourfoldroot what are YOU on about? Days Gone is no longer on psnow. It is a rotating slate of games compared with having the game as long as you want. Just reupped my plus to 2023 for 27 dollars. It's already paid for itself.

Re: All PS5 Launch Games

mvhess

@Octane Lol, Yeah, that was literally a stream of thought. By the time I got to the end I was like, shoot, I think I'm thinking of Remedy's deal. But I was too lazy to look it up.

Re: All PS5 Launch Games

mvhess

@Octane I think you're wrong on this. I believe Insomniac bought the rights to sunset overdrive before the Sony acquisition. If I'm right, Sony could absolutely release Sunset Overdrive on Ps5. Unless I'm confusing this with Remedy buying the rights to Alan Wake.

Re: Sony Confirms Spider-Man PS5 Remaster Is Not a Free Upgrade

mvhess

@grahamd why is this so confusing to people? These "free upgrades" are just resolution patches. The spider-man remaster will incorporate the instant loading, 3d audio, haptic feedback and probably Ray tracing. I'm sure we will learn more closer to what is probably a December release. Having said that, I don't think I need to play Spider-man again having played through it twice already.

Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous

mvhess

@Shinobi1Kenobi Get over yourself man. $400 is not a lot of money to me. And with my internet connection, it doesn't take longer than 10 minutes to be able to start playing most games. I'm not getting it to one up my piers lol. I am excited about 3d.audio and no load times and the inevitable graphics increase and I like Sony games. What difference does it make to you?

Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous

mvhess

@Shinobi1Kenobi I'm in the US where new releases always cost $59.99, now they appear to be $69.99. Having said that, I only really buy Sony first party games at release. The rest I buy on their regular sales. You are clearly upset about this so buy an Xbox and get games pass.

Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous

mvhess

@Shinobi1Kenobi I only saw games listed as 10 dollars higher. Is 10 bucks extra really a make or break price point for you? If you've been paying attention with Sony doubling down on big blockbuster games, you had to expect a price increase. AAA 3rd party games will do the same. It's been a long time coming.

Re: Prince of Persia Remake Doesn't Look Any Better in Screenshots

mvhess

@Dubbicakes Actually, nevermind, it was a stylistic choice. They had at peak 170 people working on it and it's been in development for 2-1/2 years. This according to the head of development. He said they didn't want it to look like other Ubisoft game. So, you may not like it but you can't say rebuilding the game from the ground up is lazy You can read more on wccftech
