@LazyDaisy I think it looks significantly better and that's from a youtube video. I love the painterly style of this series. The colors pop and the white is so damn white, if that makes any sense.
@Oram77 I agree. I just hope the story doesn't suffer. Open world games where you can go wherever you want, when you want tend to have crap stories and it was the side stories that carried me through the first game. Well that and the combat system and beautiful world.
@EfYI I recently tried to replay it and it just wasn't as fun as when I played it at launch. There seemed to be no one helping me build or liking the transportation networks I spent hours building. During launch, new things would pop up daily and you really felt like you were helping strangers make the journey with you and they were helping you back.
@DreadfulDragon @Darude84 just because you didn't enjoy the gameplay loop doesn't mean it isn't good. I loved building structures with complete strangers and feeling like I was on a lonely journey in the world they created. If all your about is gameplay, I wonder why your on a Playstation site. They are a story focused company. Nintendo has plenty of what you're looking for. And I say that as a person who grew up on Nintendo
I did not think I would like this game when it came out. But I go back and finish the game every year. It's amazing and can't wait to see what's next from this studio.
@rjejr OH that area. Yeah they went nuts there. You could easily miss the entire section. Love that game. I'm not a trophy guy but I did platinum that.
Its the right move to start with a new character. What were they going to do? Do the thing where your character forgets all his skills from the previous game? I was one who didn't the GoT needed a sequel but now I'm excited!
@Kiefer-Sutherland if you just spam attack you're not going to get very far. Playing in PC and it's great. Not bad for a studios first game. There are quality of life issues like the lack of a map and shrines that don't stand out enough and tend to be behind rocks when you're trying to find one to fast travel...I would just find myself dying just so I could get back to one. Also being able to use the healing flask at full health is annoying. I dont mind the invisible walls. To me it's pretty clear in most instances where you can and can't go and I definitely appreciate not falling off narrow pathways all the time.
@BeerIsAwesome GT7 awaits you. I have sunk endless hours into that and No Man's sky. Intending to start the resident evil games this weekend. Or half Life Alyx since I just got it set up for my PC last night.
@Wiceheid And what is marketing today anyway? Most games are announced with a YouTube video. Their practices make me sick. They closed two insanely talented studios while at the same time using two square enix studios to help two games in development hell make it to market. I don't understand rooting for this kind of industry. Luckily I don't give a crap about Activision but I do worry for two of my favorite studios in Arkane and DoubleFine
Edit: i guess I should've actually read the article. I'm not in Europe so I am unaware of Sonys strategy across the pond
Well, Skill Up enjoyed his time with it so as long as it gets the star wars stuff right and feels like a lived in star wars world, I'm okay with no ground breaking mechanics. I already know it's going to be a division style shooter with stealth mixed in. I'm in it to explore the world and be a bounty hunter in it.
They have stuff cooking but nothing is ready to show. I would rather studios be allowed to take their time and not crunch, because if you've watched any docs on game dev, you know these reveals often take a month to create. Hopefully, next year we'll see Wolverine and whatever the hell Cory Barlog has been working on. Also, Sucker Punch should be ready to show something.
@PrettyPawsome I wasn't trying to belittle you but type in assassin's creed shadows into YouTube and you will come across dozens of videos attacking the supposed wokeness, dei, whatever they are calling it, a lot of then before you even get to the trailer. So yes, it's a prevalent theme. As for games, I don't who I play as. They are works of fiction and the choice of the dev team.
@Callmegil this makes.no sense when you consider that Japanese studios make their own Japanese characters look white. I'm playing persona 3 reload and I guess these characters are supposed to be Japanese but nothing about their appearance indicates that. DMC, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, etc etc etc...these are all opportunities for Japanese companies to make strong Japanese leading men. Maybe it's about money. It's always about money.
@PrettyPawsome you evidently didn't read the comment section or see the dozens of videos about it. It's just another battle in these maniacs war against "wokeness". The major complaint being that they claim yasuke was essentially a pet and the female has a square jaw. So yeah, even if you didn't research before you commented, there was no gameplay shown, so what else could the vitriol be about
Not good but I feel like I already got my money's worth with animal well and Dave the Diver. I guess you could say they were last months but I haven't gotten to them yet because I'm entrenched in persona 3 after beating stellar blade. I'm very tempted to take a break for animal well though. I have no doubt I'll love that game
I still don't get how people are okay with Atlus releasing the same game, with some updates content, at full price with no upgrade path. If this were Ubisoft, people would riot
@LifeGirl Yes but people make mistakes. People fail. At launch it was still a playable game. They just ran out of time for what they had planned. They have more than made up for it. They have years ago actually and would be fully within their right to charge for some of these updates after delivering what they promised. Yet they continuously go above and beyond for free to anyone who owns the game. I haven't played it but I will some day.
@NEStalgia can you play sitting down? I have psvr2 but I don't have a ton of space where I have my PS5 located. I played both Moss games but my go to is definitely gt7
@RicksReflection I don't think they are claiming the PS5 pro can do 60/8k. I think they stated that PSSR will be updated for that when it's included on the ps6. Unless I'm misunderstanding you
@eduscxbox They are trying to make game pass the Netflix of gaming. That's the obvious goal and one that's been stated. They are shooting for Netflix numbers...200-250 million people. I don't want to be in a gaming future where it's all subscription based. Microsoft only wanting to pay 5 mill for BG3, a game whose budget was well north of 50 million says a lot about what that future could look like.
@Friendly Phil himself said they need to find a way to bring more people to Xbox. You act like making a profit is good enough for these big mega corporations. It's all about infinite growth. It's why Microsoft has laid off 12000 employees in the last year alone. And Amazon laid off 29,000 despite making like 200+ billion in profit last year
@eduscxbox Yeah not the same as profit as the other guy said. phil said they need to bring more people over to Xbox if they want to remain competitive. They just spent like 100 billion dollars on acquisitions in the past few years
Seriously, what the hell is going on? Do people do nothing but play video games to elicit such vitriol? I don't get it. Especially considering how passionate and prolific this studio is
@dark_knightmare2 Yeah, they should have made the predictable story of either Ellie or Joel gets captured and you spend the game trying to rescue them. Or Joel and Ellie go on another adventure. People constantly criticize game companies for playing it safe but this shows there's a reason they do
@naruball I know. I've gotten into it with him before. I don't think he lives anywhere but VR. He was constantly bragging about how many VR games he has.
