@Scottyy I dunno about that, some of the side quests can be quite dark , id say its more oblivion than witcher though ,oblivions story was garbage , it hardly had one , 10 to 12 hours of closing oblivion gates , but the side quests and exploration is why people played ,the dark brotherhood was superb, take the reed devils story in crimson desert , he slaughters people , but why ? I felt sorry for him although ive not completed his quest line yet. Also I found a note in a house I only read it a few hours later , but it seems there's someone hiding under a bed waiting to commit bloody murder , I need to go back and see.
@Simong85 one reviewer even said hes played for 10hrs and cant find anything to do....what 😂 there was another who got stuck on the tutorial puzzle for an hour.
@Skippermonkey id recommend you join a crimson desert group , there are some puzzles that you will need help with , once you know they're quite clever, but you will use those mechanics again so they get easier , there's no hints apart from the environment youre in , all your skills can be used including attacks.
@Boomers-r-us it'll be the dynamic lighting i suspect more than actual graphical glitches , its there on pc as well , the occasional fps drop im fine with, with the amount going on sometimes , ive never seen so many enemies at once in an open world game ,all superbly animated, its actually ridiculous.
Id say a lot of it depends on what tv you have in how well this game plays, ive had none of the graphical anomalies mentioned in this review apart from the usual present in most games with dynamic lighting. recipes , journals, bounties can all be dropped once completed/read, i play on balanced as it doesnt look much difference to quality and the extra frames are worth it , sometimes the amount of things happening on screen at once 30 enemies, animals, particle effects its miraculous my pro doesnt explode , i honestly dont know how they did it ,the engine is superb, im not going to disagree with Roberts review , even though hes wrong....just messing 😁
So theyve got 300 million , they pay voice actors and musicians they tend not to work for the studio permanently, how much are they paying these devs to churn out crap after crap.
@Boomers-r-us pretty much same as me , I found a pirate ship before in my break from work i had to use a rowboat to get there , It looked deserted , I was wrong 😂
@Oram77 and some people hate it without having even played it, im here to level things out , Requiem is superb i loved that as well , but its a much beloved franchise i expect it to do well , for a studios first single player game with no massive fan following, 3 million sales for crimson desert is highly impressive , there must be a reason its selling so well, i dunno ,maybe the game is actually great.
@Frmknst if you think thats all there is your missing out , ive had more excitement, more wow moments, more suprises in my 20 hours of gameplay than the whole of ac shadows and yotei combined , and im still in the first area.
@Oram77 it was enjoyable thats why its sold 3 million copies , they only recently added a patch , a storage chest and slightly easier bosses isnt going to sell a million copies of any game, word of mouth gets around no matter how many critics tell people its bad , same thing happened to days gone.
And word of mouth trumps some dodgy reviews from people who get stuck on the tutorial puzzle for over an hour , i love this game , been a very long time since I've been thinking about a game ,when im not playing it ,its hard to stop , very addictive.
@Dogbreath hisense have come on leaps and bounds over the last 3 years my mate has one and to be honest there's not much difference to my lg for literally half the price.
Watched a play through of this garbage for giggles its absolutely terrible , doesnt even deserve a 4 , enemies waiting about for there turn to attack , 2 types of attack , terrible animation , atrocious characters , main character looks like she's gurning all the time , what the hell was Jennifer english thinking, its just a really bad game ,whos devs thought it would do well because of its medieval gayness.
@Dreamscape20 yeah not for me , I find games like this extremely boring and repetitive , your basically just doing the same thing over and over , i go to work to do that...no thank you
@HonestHick you know when you get in a lift and there's a few people in there and somebody farts ,everyone knows who it is, but they look at other people to try and push the blame , that kinda like you in the push square comment section.
@dskatter Denuvo has always been there it was implemented in the preview pc releases and it ran fine, the ps5 footage was shown before and besides its out in the wild now so what's the issue , your anger reminds me of 10 year old school girls ,who get upset because Janet has the bag that everyone says is crap
@Olskeezy grrr ai grrr fake anger grrrr better get use to it fella ai is here and it isnt going anywhere , so what ,they used a few ai pictures in there game so one of there employees could maybe have the day off , do you begrudge people having a rest , they will replace it with a patch soon enough , and then you can rest easy that the game you will never play has satisfied your anti ai nonsense.
@Roddox I agree, I think its brilliant , have you seen that witch king armour that somebody has found it looks awesome , I need it 😁 also I just found out when you get a dog you can dress it up in armour 😂 what !!!!!
@Dogbreath I think its weird that people are getting angry over a game that they've never played , just following the rest like little sheep, the game is amazing , they called it generic and is anything but , theyre so use to western slop with exactly the same 'generic' code they've forgot what a good game is , the combat is some of the best in any open world game , makes yotei look positively basic , shadows completely unresponsive, and the witcher 3 the janky combat master it actual is, soak in the lore , read the comprehensive knowledge book, study the moves choose the best for the battle at hand , prepare for boss battles , explore and you wont just get a bit of xp with a pretty cut scene, youll get an awesome full on armour set with stats to match.
@Yor-sama yeah i prefer r3 for run but every game drains stamina for sprinting , at least it doesnt drain for normal attacks and can be upgraded to a massive amount
@gigiard I really dont know how they are going to patch the controls without dumbing it down, yeah it is like dragons dogma sometimes , sometimes the witcher , sometimes assasins creed, sometimes shadow of the colossus, sometimes skyrim, occasionally rdr2, its all games 😂
@Yor-sama the two running styles are there because sprint uses stamina jog doesnt and its quicker , you dont have to keep pressing x all the time if you notice it sprints without the constant presses , you have like a few seconds to just double tap again , gives you chance to do other moves , if you have that much of an issue with square being jump why dont you just swap it in the ps settings menu , weird, I was brought up with Daley Thompsons decathlon and track n field so it doesnt bother me, its a big non issue in my opinion.
@NieR_Dark I've had a couple of map crashes also , I've found if you open the map by holding down the three dash button next to the touch pad on the controller it doesn't happen instead of going into the menu , well hasn't happened to me
@DennisReynolds dont know what your on about fella x is used to pick up things and I can double jump while im running, if you tap x a few times it'll will sprint for a few seconds before going into a jog then you can jump , you dont have to keep pressing x constantly, kind of similar to horse riding on kcd2, if your having trouble picking up ore or items left by enemies , just befriend a dog and they will pick up those things for you, i guess people who reviewed it missed this.
@LoopBak127 I dont feel the story is lacking its the same as yotei , skyrim, oblivion there main story was crap and very predictable, I mean i was disappointed in yotei I found it bland , skyrim and oblivion was never about the main story but your own adventures , which is what this game is
@JoeNobody I love it I think its amazing , its one of those games where you think i wonder if i can do that , and you can, guards wont let you into a house meh just sneak round back up the wall open a window , (you can open windows) and sneak in
@DennisReynolds I disagree, memorise your favourites and stick to those , there are a lot of moves i agree , its akin to a beat em up more than an action rpg , double jump ground slam , force push and mental slash with the double handed katana is my favourite build 😂
@Ravix there's a skill that let's you quick swap during fights apparently without having to go through menus, i like the fact that if you prepare properly boss fight arent as hard as everyone is trying to make out , im dreadful at soulslike like games , but if I have a few plates of fish porridge in this im a bit of a boss 😂 there are a lot of special moves and such but if you memorise your favourites thats the best way to go , the game is better than ghost of yotei in my opinion , and craps all over ac shadows
The only issue I have is clicking the left thumbstick by accident when fighting and its shoots out the grapple , but i have the same issue with other games that use L3 for anything other than run
@Brumblescope I feel there's been a bit of misconception with regards to quests, its not like there's isnt any markers which i feel some people are giving that impression, there's a big red cross for main quests , question marks for poi , use your sword like shadow of the colossus, if you played a lot of genres of games there's nothing here that you haven't experienced before , its not that hard.
@DigiB79 the controls arent weird there's just a lot of them, most games now use context sensitive controls , a lot of games play themselves , quests consist of running to this dot, get this thing or kill this thing and then run back to the other dot , crimson desert also has this except its a big red cross that people seem to be missing but on the way, you kind of take another route and thats when you discover the cool stuff , oh and there's lots of reading if people struggle with that as I know some do , they will find it boring
