Re: Crimson Desert (PS5) - A Generational Open World Buried in Early Access Cruft

@Scottyy I dunno about that, some of the side quests can be quite dark , id say its more oblivion than witcher though ,oblivions story was garbage , it hardly had one , 10 to 12 hours of closing oblivion gates , but the side quests and exploration is why people played ,the dark brotherhood was superb, take the reed devils story in crimson desert , he slaughters people , but why ? I felt sorry for him although ive not completed his quest line yet. Also I found a note in a house I only read it a few hours later , but it seems there's someone hiding under a bed waiting to commit bloody murder , I need to go back and see.

Id say a lot of it depends on what tv you have in how well this game plays, ive had none of the graphical anomalies mentioned in this review apart from the usual present in most games with dynamic lighting. recipes , journals, bounties can all be dropped once completed/read, i play on balanced as it doesnt look much difference to quality and the extra frames are worth it , sometimes the amount of things happening on screen at once 30 enemies, animals, particle effects its miraculous my pro doesnt explode , i honestly dont know how they did it ,the engine is superb, im not going to disagree with Roberts review , even though hes wrong....just messing 😁

@Oram77 and some people hate it without having even played it, im here to level things out , Requiem is superb i loved that as well , but its a much beloved franchise i expect it to do well , for a studios first single player game with no massive fan following, 3 million sales for crimson desert is highly impressive , there must be a reason its selling so well, i dunno ,maybe the game is actually great.

Watched a play through of this garbage for giggles its absolutely terrible , doesnt even deserve a 4 , enemies waiting about for there turn to attack , 2 types of attack , terrible animation , atrocious characters , main character looks like she's gurning all the time , what the hell was Jennifer english thinking, its just a really bad game ,whos devs thought it would do well because of its medieval gayness.

Re: 'We Should Have Clearly Disclosed Our Use of AI': Crimson Desert Dev 'Sincerely Apologises' for Erroneously Including AI Art in PS5 Game

lazarus11

@Olskeezy grrr ai grrr fake anger grrrr better get use to it fella ai is here and it isnt going anywhere , so what ,they used a few ai pictures in there game so one of there employees could maybe have the day off , do you begrudge people having a rest , they will replace it with a patch soon enough , and then you can rest easy that the game you will never play has satisfied your anti ai nonsense.

Re: Crimson Desert Dev to Patch PS5 RPG's 'Uncomfortable' Controls

lazarus11

@Dogbreath I think its weird that people are getting angry over a game that they've never played , just following the rest like little sheep, the game is amazing , they called it generic and is anything but , theyre so use to western slop with exactly the same 'generic' code they've forgot what a good game is , the combat is some of the best in any open world game , makes yotei look positively basic , shadows completely unresponsive, and the witcher 3 the janky combat master it actual is, soak in the lore , read the comprehensive knowledge book, study the moves choose the best for the battle at hand , prepare for boss battles , explore and you wont just get a bit of xp with a pretty cut scene, youll get an awesome full on armour set with stats to match.

Re: Crimson Desert Dev to Patch PS5 RPG's 'Uncomfortable' Controls

@Yor-sama the two running styles are there because sprint uses stamina jog doesnt and its quicker , you dont have to keep pressing x all the time if you notice it sprints without the constant presses , you have like a few seconds to just double tap again , gives you chance to do other moves , if you have that much of an issue with square being jump why dont you just swap it in the ps settings menu , weird, I was brought up with Daley Thompsons decathlon and track n field so it doesnt bother me, its a big non issue in my opinion.

Re: Crimson Desert Dev to Patch PS5 RPG's 'Uncomfortable' Controls

lazarus11

@DennisReynolds dont know what your on about fella x is used to pick up things and I can double jump while im running, if you tap x a few times it'll will sprint for a few seconds before going into a jog then you can jump , you dont have to keep pressing x constantly, kind of similar to horse riding on kcd2, if your having trouble picking up ore or items left by enemies , just befriend a dog and they will pick up those things for you, i guess people who reviewed it missed this.

Re: Crimson Desert Dev to Patch PS5 RPG's 'Uncomfortable' Controls

lazarus11

@Ravix there's a skill that let's you quick swap during fights apparently without having to go through menus, i like the fact that if you prepare properly boss fight arent as hard as everyone is trying to make out , im dreadful at soulslike like games , but if I have a few plates of fish porridge in this im a bit of a boss 😂 there are a lot of special moves and such but if you memorise your favourites thats the best way to go , the game is better than ghost of yotei in my opinion , and craps all over ac shadows

Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?

lazarus11

@Brumblescope I feel there's been a bit of misconception with regards to quests, its not like there's isnt any markers which i feel some people are giving that impression, there's a big red cross for main quests , question marks for poi , use your sword like shadow of the colossus, if you played a lot of genres of games there's nothing here that you haven't experienced before , its not that hard.

Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?

lazarus11

@DigiB79 the controls arent weird there's just a lot of them, most games now use context sensitive controls , a lot of games play themselves , quests consist of running to this dot, get this thing or kill this thing and then run back to the other dot , crimson desert also has this except its a big red cross that people seem to be missing but on the way, you kind of take another route and thats when you discover the cool stuff , oh and there's lots of reading if people struggle with that as I know some do , they will find it boring
