Re: Is Crimson Desert an RPG? Weird Online Arguments Erupt as Dev Refuses to Call It One

I've preordered the deluxe edition i have every faith in it , you dont level up traditionally thats why they've said this , 7 years in development, started off as an mmo thats why it has all the features it does, massive budget, its own engine , if e33 can win best rpg even when it isnt , then I'll considered this one as well ,if they can stick the performance on console, definitely a game of the year contender.

Re: Don't Expect Crimson Desert to Be Easy, PS5 Open Worlder Won't Have Difficulty Options at Launch

@RedRiot193 the parts I could get through i found atmospheric with good lore , because I could only progress so far I found it became bland and depressing , with an easier mode ,i could have progressed further , why is that so hard to understand, as a game developer ,I feel surely from software would want everyone to experience their games, guess they dont want to upset the pedantic cry babies on the Internet, I also find it hilarious that because they said crimson desert isnt easy, you automatically assume its has to be as hard as a souls game, even though they've also stated its not a soulslike , ooh look theyve said two opposite things , would you like me to explain it to yo

@djlard agreed, when a reviewer mentions that a game is soulslike its a big no from me , tiny dodge windows and sponge bosses are not for me , I know some people like that type of punishment but I dont have the time or patience for that, pearl abyss have already stated crimson desert is not a soulslike, dont know why people are thinking it is , just because the marketing guy said its not easy ,having played black desert id say its closer to devil may cry than any souls game , I think its weird ,how certain people are taking some sort of strange joy, in the possibility that some gamers wont play it ,because they think its a dark souls game.

@djlard hmm I dunno there's to much to do in the game , souls games are well...soul less , its basically the same gameplay loop for hours , beat small enemies to kill big enemies ,i find them overly hard and repetitive, in my opinion they make them that difficult because otherwise the games have nothing else, even the story you have to search for, its all very meh

@TheLotteryMan1 tainted grail is the far superior rpg , avowed isnt worthy to lick its boots , sure it has its faults , but with regards to depth, story , side quests , lore and atmosphere it craps all over avowed, its superb , you like skyrim style rpgs , youll love tainted grail, save often though , you can make decisions that are permanent, some of which that may seem trivial at the time ,can have serious consequences 😏

@RedRiot193 problem is i found the gameplay loop extremely tedious in elden ring, I wouldve loved an easy mode because the atmosphere and lore is great , crimson desert looks nothing like it in terms of difficulty, the only comparison they made to elden ring was that the world ,its totally open from the begining , you can go where you like , you wont last very long , but you can, elden rings roll ,roll attack, roll mechanic just isnt there in this game.

@pyrrhic_victory I think its more to do with this games actual mechanics rather than trying to lock people out , it seems you level up your weapons and armour not your character as such , although you do learn better skills and potion crafting , the potion mechanic seems similar to the witchers , you make shield, strength, magic potions etc to take on harder bosses, im all for a bit of strategy and planning , rather than just make enemies weaker and you stronger with an easy difficulty setting.
