Re: Huge Crimson Desert Updates Teased as Dev Plans Boss Fight Replays and Difficulty Settings

@themightyant not really interesting i just recognise a great game when I play it , i find it more interesting that those who haven't played it ,have such strong opinions against it ,according to them its the most successful broken game ever made. It's great to see it getting the praise and recognition it deserves from youtubers and streamers , who would have thought that the only opinions that matter, are from someone experiencing a product, i also find it extremely odd that baldurs gate 3 3rd act was completely broken , like your game doesnt work broken, and yet it scored so highly at launch.

@Metonymy I agree that the controls can be confusing at first but once you get the hang of it i find it easy , for example I find it strange that as far as im aware not one review mentions that you hold down the main attack buttons you dont press them, and I wonder is that why they had issues, the story is no better or worse than most open world rpgs , the exception being the witcher 3 but the combat in that game was janky as hell ,with stiff animations and also infested with bugs , and then there's the bosses , im crap at bosses usually ,but I find these more puzzles than the usual, parry, roll, parry roll , they all have a weakness , exploit this , have refined equipment and plenty of food and I manage quite well, bit of thought and planning goes a long way, it has so many wow moments that 6/10 is an insult to the devs and gamers alike, ive been playing games for decades ive played great games and everything in between, and i do not except that crimson desert is anything other than a 9 and probably my goty.

@CaptainWow if you get asked by a woman to deliver a letter to her husband, take plenty of food and a good strong sword 😁 little tip dont go wandering off to far you will die , I mean you can but youll get slaughtered , also listen to npcs they offer clues to quest "yeah he hasn't been seen since he set off for the house in the woods north of the river"....that type of stuff

Re: Starfield (PS5) - Better Than Ever, But Still No Space Skyrim

lazarus11

@CaptainWow there's caves with treasure to be discovered not just a bag of coins its like magic items, swords, cool armour, proper rewards , there are quest markers , also you use your sword like shadow of the colossus to point out poi, obviously there's the usual fetch quests , but also quests that start off simple like delivery of a letter that turn into a 40 min story , its that whole sense of oooh whats that cave in that mountain miles away , ill go there , ooh what's that hole you go down and find a cave system, with diamonds , it just goes on and on and you realise 4hrs have past and your nowhere near that mountain with a cave

Re: Starfield (PS5) - Better Than Ever, But Still No Space Skyrim

lazarus11

@CaptainWow the controls do take getting use to , think of it like AC but more complex, every part of the controller is used , the fighting is quite simple at first but as you get more skills it gets more complicated , you hold down the attack buttons rb rt rather than press them, and then press triangle circle etc for the corresponding move , there's a particular move where you press down on the stick this slows down time , and then rotate the right stick so kliff starts doing his neo matrix hand movements he then sucks all debris, bullets arrows into like a tornado , you then press rb to fire them into the enemy , all these button presses are listed at the bottom of the screen on the right as you execute , you dont have to remember those.

Re: Starfield (PS5) - Better Than Ever, But Still No Space Skyrim

lazarus11

@CaptainWow the controls are like a simplified version of elite dangerous , you set power to guns , shields and engines , your allocated certain points depending on the type of ship you have which can be upgraded, the flying is a bit floaty and it had complaints at launch i dont know whether its been fixed, its not a must play, so if youre undecided i suggest waiting for a sale.

@DennisReynolds 'Also i expect PQ are acting passive aggressive because they're getting fed up with supposed adults still getting salty'
Oh the irony of this comment.
Its an open forum, if that is the case then maybe PQ should act erm, I dunno, a bit more professional.

Re: Game of the Month: Crimson Desert (March 2026)

lazarus11

@DennisReynolds opinions are fine but shouldn't take away from the facts, when millions of people are telling you youre wrong, maybe take note, dont double down and try and justify your wrong opinion ,with passive aggressive articles.
'In truth it didnt have a whole lot of competition'
Basically saying you've won but its hardly deserved.
Did they say this about any other game thats won game of the month, nope...why is that ?
Will they say the same when starfield wins April's game of the month, I mean its up against some indie games, oh and a vr game.
Its not like its got push squares and ign 9/10 marathon to contend with has it.

@Silenos nobody is that naive that they believe crimson desert is without issues, but a game of this size, scope and depth of features im suprised it works as well as it does, theyre actually listening to their players as well, imagine that a company listening to its customers, it should be applauded and held in the highest regard ,otherwise we will just keep getting the same cookie cutter garbage, we've been getting for years.

Re: Game of the Month: Crimson Desert (March 2026)

lazarus11

@Metonymy it isnt consistent with the review process of this site, it raises too many questions and then we have the constant follow up articles , with the sly digs , maybe the ps5 version did deserve a 6 i dont know , the pro version however does not , so the question is why focus on the shortcomings of the ps5 version when the review clearly states ps5 pro version reviewed, theyve done it for no other game ,the ps5 version has been an after thought for a good long while.

Re: Game of the Month: Crimson Desert (March 2026)

lazarus11

@Metonymy no game is for everyone but reviewers must put aside their personal preferences and this must reflect in a review , i cant stand elden ring but Id look past my own opinions..its lack of story, the blurry graphics , its overly hard bosses to drag out playtime, its totally empty world , i certainly wouldnt give it a 6....probably a 4 😏

Re: Game of the Month: Crimson Desert (March 2026)

lazarus11

@Metonymy its their job they should be able to do it correctly , also ign reviewed the pc version , the most stable and stunning of all the versions , the game hasn't changed that much , the core gameplay is exactly the same , them even considering reviewing it again ,tells you all you need to know,it was a nonsense review if youre going to review a game with 300hrs of content potentially , dont play 5 percent of it and give it a 6, if you dont have time , dont review it , its simple.

Re: Ahead of Arrival on PS Plus, Lords of the Fallen Gets a Major PS5 Update

lazarus11

Probably my least hated soulslike of the myriad of soulslike games , i picked it up cheap when they did the major rehaul a while back , love the art style and the moody atmosphere , but im proper shi*te so I launched it , the disc stuck in the door between elden ring and demon souls, but we cant all be good at everything , im a f*ckin beast at monopoly.

Re: 'The List Is Crazy': Starfield Support and Updates Will Continue Following PS5 Debut

lazarus11

@super84trooper not really , you get your first ship in about 1hr and then another hour to upgrade , then you get to do all the cool things like board ships , visit earth, Mars etc do some quests , some are interesting with some good stories however they arent fleshed out and just end abruptly, then youll play around with customised ships and then find its a pain in the arse so you just buy them or download a modded one , then off to visit some empty planets which you spend ages hoping to find something interesting or new , you dont so you just carry on with the main quest , you find a pirate base , then another and another all exactly the same , same layout same enemy positions, youll see everything the game has to offer in 10/15hrs , I played at launch so didn't have anyone telling me there is nothing, stop flying to different planets you wont find anything, I spent over 100hrs with starfield , I wish I didn't, youll start the game and think this is great 9/10 by the time youre done its dropped to a 4, it is very much the epitome of mediocre.
