Just finished the main story last night. Time to put it down and move on to Batman. I'll probably get back to it later, but right now I've reached my saturation point with this title.
Hmmm. I've been skeptical, and this does look promising, but it will take more than one game to secure a Morpheus purchase from me. The key is having good gameS.
Will happily take whatever is given. This game is great. Agree about the performance - love it when I'm dodging and a tree that was once there vanishes into thin air - hopefully the patch will resolve some of this.
Looking forward to this one as well as Batman and PGA. Combined with Witcher 3, that makes one anticipated game a month through Aug. - much better than last year.
Looking forward to this. Was wondering just yesterday if there was going to be an update. Thanks! Didn't watch the video though, because I don't want spoilers.
First one was okay, but could've been more than it was. I'd be willing to pick up the sequel to see where it goes, but won't take it beyond that if it's just more of the same.
It's nice to have some type of gaming excitement around the holidays. Plus, weather-wise (in much of U.S.), it's an ideal time to have games arrive, since outdoor exercise (remember exercise?) is pretty much put on hold around that time of year.
@BLPs No worries there. Without sacrificing any personal contact information, what would be the best way to connect with you (e.g. website, PSN account, non-private email, social media, etc.)?
Will wait for a price drop. Too difficult to tell whether my patience will persevere through something like this, and I don't want to feel short changed if the experience doesn't satisfy. Witcher is a definite, and I'm still working my way through Dragon's Age with a second run-through likely. @rockman29 and @BLPs, completely off topic, but if there's room in anything you're developing for original music composition, let's chat.
The thing is, this game was one of the reasons why I bothered with Plus last year. Following a disappointing year of offerings, there was no reason for me to pick up another subscription, and this changes nothing. Too little too late.
All depends on the software (games) that comes out for it. Move was a huge disappointment, and there's no way I'm going to shell out major $ until I'm sure there will be a good return on investment.
Considering getting this. Most times I'll skim over text to get on with the game, and Skyrim was no exception. In this context, there aren't any other distractions.
Re-entering the game console experience was a bit intimidating. I started with the Atari, which had the one joystick and a button, and early arcade games had a similar mechanism. It was hard to imagine I would ever get accustomed to the much more complex controller on the PS2, but like anything else, the more you use something the more natural it becomes. Many games these days have the tutorials built in as you're playing, so you're learning the control mechanism without even realizing. It wasn't that long ago when I had the game booklet laid out in front of me to help me figure out how to jump, run, etc. Now, it's pretty much fed to you in real time. I don't agree with dumbing down systems to get everyone involved. That's what the Wii is for. And Facebook, for that matter. You don't need the gaming world to cater to you to enjoy a gaming experience. If you're looking for something more advanced, as with pretty much anything else, then expect to spend some time. Ya gotta 'wanna'.
Still on GTA5. If it wasn't for the golf and tennis mini-games, I'd probably have finished the main story by now. I'm always amazed at how gamers can switch between several games so seamlessly. My feeble brain needs to focus on one set of controls at a time. Otherwise, I press the wrong button at the wrong time in he wrong game and shoot myself in the foot or worse.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I definitely enjoyed Beyond also, though the supernatural slant took it farther away from reality than the other mentions. If memory serves correctly, you weren't pleased at all with Murdered Soul Suspect, which I also found to be a nice change of pace despite all its obvious problems. I'm a big fan of all the QD releases, though the granddaddy of them all (for me) was Indigo Prophecy a.k.a. Fahrenheit. My feeling is that if a game is founded in reality, it allows for the developers to work on a real story that properly grabs you - which I really dig. Certainly, you can have this in surreal worlds also, but one hand you have Batman Begins and on the other something that relies more on action and special effects with little meat to it (thinking Transformers 3).
Hear, hear. This is why I can happily dive into a game like Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments, and to a lesser extent something like Heavy Rain (the latter forces you to suspend disbelief more than the former). While too much of this style would likely get boring, it's always nice and refreshing for me to kick back with a cocktail and relax with a good problem solving mystery story. It's also why I'm hoping the Vanishing of Ethan Carter won't disappoint because it has potential to fall into this sort of category. And Then There Were None attempted to do this on the Wii as well, but that one wasn't so hot.
Fun to watch. Technique reminds me of usability studies, though this was done after final product release. Since names are unknown, I particularly liked watching the 'girl in flannel' evolve from analytical critic to emotionally engaged player.
Above and beyond all else, Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit) Everything else for me was pretty much covered in the poll Uncharted trilogy, Elder Scrolls/Skyrim, and Batman Arkham series.
Apologies for an 'episode newbie' question. How does this episodic content thing work? I'm guessing you pay as you go through PSN as each episode is released, but is there ever a chance to get a full (season?) of all the episodes the old school way - via disc without downloading online? Thanks for indulging me.
I am really hoping this is so. Indigo Prophecy was one of my absolute favorite games of all time. Much better than all the other later QD releases imho. Aside from GTA5, which I never got to play on PS3, this is the one port I definitely want.
I'm spending so much time on PS4 releases, I really don't envision going back to replaying games from my old PS3 catalog. It might be fun revisiting some series games (thinking Uncharted here) before diving into a latest release, but other than that there's no appeal. Not enough ROI (return on investment) for the price.

Re: Elementary! Brand New Sherlock Holmes Game to Be Shown at Paris Games Week
@Pamela Wow, that's a shame. Didn't have any experiences of that on the PS4, for what that's worth.

Great news. The last one was very good.

Keeping an eye out for this. Need more info before deciding whether I'm hyped or not, but it does look interesting.

Re: Soapbox: You Should Stop Pre-Ordering Games
I pre-ordered Witcher3, which was my first pre in many years. If W3 gets delayed, I'll happily go back to not pre-ordering again - ever.
Re: Sick of Seeing The Witcher 3 Yet? Well, Have Some More Screenshots
I broke down and pre-ordered today. Never thought I would do that for any game after a bad prior experience.

Wait a minute, Robin... If I can just... reach my... DualShock controller.
Re: Batman: Arkham Knight Delays Its Vigilante Justice on PlayStation 4
The delay is not that long. I won't consider this a big deal unless it gets pushed back yet again. However, delays are exactly why I don't pre-order.
Re: Rumour: Holy Remaster, Batman! Arkham Duo Set to Swoop onto PS4
Though there aren't many ports I would consider, this is one I would definitely get.
