We remember the days when people just weren't sure about Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Gaming tie-ins of existing properties are always a bit of a gamble, but very few people were able to foresee developer Monolith's future success.
Indeed, its creation even went on to win our 2014 staff Game of the Year vote, along with a slew of other accolades from numerous different publications. And now, it's added yet another GOTY gong to its list of achievements, as it scooped the big one at last night's GDC awards ceremony.
Are you still playing Shadow of Mordor? Do you ever get tired of slaughtering Uruks? Wipe your blade clean in the comments section below.

I will buy the next "game of the year edition" with dlc included...if happen.
I am getting this as soon as I get one of the newer systems, as the old gen version stinks.
I still havnt got this yet! No idea why as it looks better than a few other games ive picked up since its launch.
Definitely one of the better games released last year.
Shadow of Morodr is sort of a 'best of' compilation borrowing from Assassins Creed and Batman. And it also adds something new with the nemesis system which I thought was pretty cool. Only downsides in my opinion were the poor map design (looked like an evil version of Mario 64) and the large ammount of unnecessary crap in your HUD, I allways hate that..
I have it on Xbox One but I still haven't put a lot of time into it. Better correct it soon...
This game is not GOTY worthy. Where is Alien Isolation? What about Bayonetta 2?
Besides they messed up the old gen versions AND they messed up DLC.
Just cause it has a nemesis system doesnt make it GOTY.
But what worth has GOTY anyway...all these awards are as crap as the oscars.
this game GOTY ? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Decent game, has one of the worst controls ive ever seen, some NES games have better controls
@vdallos i have all the dlc in middle earth shadow of war and both are awesome the bright lord dlc being the better one of the 2 for me
