The next Yakuza game is not this, it is a new game, following a new protagonist set in the same world. It doesn't seek to retell or recreate events already depicted in previous entries and will exist as a continuation of the events of the previous games. I suppose there is an argument to be made that it will be a soft reboot but I think there will be enough in it that you would only understand had you played the prior games that calling it a soft reboot would only loosely apply.

@RBMango Sony never owned them, they were always owned by Universal Interactive, Sony just published the games.

@Knuckles-Fajita they spent 10 months conducting an internal investigation that included looking into SupMatto's videos in an effort to plug leaks and prevent future projects from leaking moving forward. They sent investigators to his house to question him to uncover more information, information they wouldn't have gained from just issuing a DMCA notice.

Private investigators are licensed and act within the law, they weren't 2 random people and SupMatto didn't have to comply with their requests for questioning, he would have been well within his rights to just close the door and ignore them.

The allegation is that 2K didn't put anything public early and SupMatto obtained information from private Twitch streams using exploits in Twitch's systems so naturally they would want to ask him how this was achieved. I still don't see an issue, this is actually less heavy handed than issuing legal threats.

I'm not sure I really understand the controversy here. Take Two and 2K are taking reasonable measures to find the sources of leaks. The YouTuber in question appeared to have insider information and was thus questioned as part of the investigation by 2 P.I.s that he willing allowed into his home. What's the actual issue because I'm not seeing one.

@Katep it is a rip off but to expect EA to create their own streaming platform just to allow PS3 games to be on their very cheap subscription service is very unrealistic. Especially since I severely doubt Sony would allow a competing streaming platform to be implemented on their consoles. I think you need to keep your expectations in check a bit more.

@BirdsWithPants it's physically impossible. It's a technical limitation, not a stubborn refusal to do it. Don't you think Sony would do it if they could?

@Katep which would involve Sony offering unlimited access to certain parts of the service exclusively for people that pay a sub that isn't PS Now, hardly a money maker for Sony.

@Katep that was never on the table, the PS4 cannot play PS3 games and EA weren't going to make EA access a streaming service just for PS3 games on PS4.

@Paranoimia playing the EA access is equivalent to buying the game so you would earn trophies. If you played the game with someone without paying you won't have a local save file, ergo your completion won't have been tracked and the trophies wouldn't pop. I fail to see why this sucks for people that completed it before as the download player, they could have bought their own copy at the time if they were that concerned by it and now they would have the opportunity to play through a great game again but earn trophies this time.

I hope the rumour about there being an FF7 demo for PS4 released after the SE press conference turns out to be true. I feel like I've been waiting too long to get my hands on this game.

@Hengist oh, well it happened to me and several other people I've seen online when 6.70 dropped so I naturally assumed this update would have a fix for whatever caused it. It actually affected all of my digital items not just Blood & Truth, including themes. I had already fixed it myself last week with the method you provided but thanks all the same.

@hulkie there were a few people reporting issues with downloaded games locking themselves after last week's update so this is probably to fix whatever was causing that.

@blakey78 so all my downloaded games did it too, deactivate your PS4 as primary and then reactivate it, should work then

I've installed it but it just has a little padlock on it so I cant use it, tried restoring my licenses too but it's a no go for me.

@carlos82 true, but retaining your save data for use between different games was not. So it's the same situation. Personally I don't mind buying the game again, I never have, nor do I mind losing my save data because I know the quality of the game is worth playing it through again.

@carlos82 as has always been the case yes you will have to replay the entire game. The additions aren't so minor that you can just slot them into an existing playthrough seemlessly, the fact that entire new areas, characters and a party member are being added won't just gel.

Both good games but it'd be nice if we could get one indie game and one big budget game a month. Having Indies almost all the time gets a bit tedious after a while and given howuch we're paying for plus and how few game we now get it's just a bit rubbish.

@Tasuki no deal required, Warner Bros owns both DC and NetherRealm Studios and it's likely that is the reason the Joker would be allowed in a full on for and violence MK game, along with the fact that The Joker is a villain so it's ok to see him get torn to shreds but in MK Vs DC they would have been a lot less willing to let Sub-Zero tear out Superman's spine.

@Orpheus79V likely because when MKvsDC came out Warner Bros. had yet to buy Midway games so they had no direct control over development which led to a blanket game wide ban of gore to make life easier for themselves.

Not really, the road map says fall which means there could be anything between 3 and 6 months between chapter 4 and chapter 5. That's kind of a huge content drought.

EA Play is nothing new, they've been doing it for the last 2-3 years. They'll still have a pre-E3 showcase, I guarantee it.

Tales selling better on PS4 in Japan makes sense to me, since like 2010 it's been a PlayStation Exclusive series so the fanbase is there. People that like the series will own a PS4 and are used to playing the series at home.

These themes are great but they seem to make the system software really slow.

Honestly I'm just glad the list wasn't dominated by mobile games. It's reassuring to know that game developers in Japan haven't succumbed completely to them just yet.

The music will probably end up being the best part about this game. The actual gameplay seems very disappointing, especially after how good Sega All Stars Racing Transformed was.

So Truant Pixel has actually had a game on the EU PSN store since 2016 and there is in fact no reason those Synthwave themes couldn't have been on the EU store.

@b1ackjack_ps yeah, and I'm saying PS Now is what you want. I know the rollout of the service hasn't been what everyone expected but what you're asking for does already exist and now even lets you download PS4 and PS2 games to play locally so it's not even 100% streaming. It exists already so why are you asking for it?

@b1ackjack_ps PS Now costs the same as Xbox's Game Pass but I think you're confused as to what Game Pass actually is. It hasn't replaced Xbox Live Gold and Games with Gold hasn't merged into Game Pass. Saying you want Plus to become like Game Pass is like saying you want Xbox Live Gold to be like PS Now, they're completely different services targeting different kinds of people. One is kind of mandatory to have the best service possible on the platform with "free" games included to increase value, the other is an instant library of games. They aren't the same and they'll never be merged, they might offer a slightly discounted bundle subscription in the future but they'll never be one and the same.

@Gremio108 yeah, they absolutely shot themselves in the foot going for timed Xbox exclusivity with PUBG. There's too much competition in the genre these days, particularly on PS4, for a game that's basically Blackout but looks worse, runs worse and has to build a new playerbase from 0 in an environment where by that point at least 2 AAA battle royale games will have been released, Blops 4 and Battlefield V.

The only thing I have to say about this is that the title of this article is misleading. Cancelled implies they ever announced PSX 2018 at all. They never did and it seems like you've worded it in this way to get more clicks rather than to be informative.

@GKO900 it probably is Persona Q 2. We already know it's a thing so it stands to reason it's for a previously announced game.
