Being a 90's kid and all, i have this on my wishlist. It looks decent, it captures the vibe of the first two movies pretty well. I'll wait for the reviews to drop first though, it can go either way but playing a new Robocop game is something i really want to celebrate. I haven't done that since the SNES, lol. Not as cool as Alien or Terminator but it has it's place in popculture-history. This would be even cooler if it would support PSVR 2 btw!
@DennisReynolds This! Unbelievable that Sony gave Dreams the treatment that it did. There are certainly ways to expand it, although it probably isn't very profitable right ftom the start. Making it PC compatible, bring it to PS5/PSVR 2 and put it on Plus are all things Sony could have done long ago. Sony doesn't care about the innovation and creativity it endorses, something that takes time and proper marketing to fully reach it's potential. If the playerbase wasn't sufficient they just could have expanded it to PS5 and PC. That could have helped, at least a little. Sony reminds me of Google here, not profitable enough after two years? Kill it, even if it's unique, creative, artistic and(therefore) undoubtly hard to market. I understand that it's business but it's a thoughtful alternative to the flood of one-dimensional, predictable and mentally unchallenging money generators like CoD, FiFA(or whatever the hell it's called now), and Assassins Creed. I'm dissapointed. In Dreams' small community, the average *****-for-brains 'gamer' that refuses to embrace new and innovative products(see VR to a lesser extend) and Sony's relentless business strategies. Just because stuff is niche and can't compete with the mainstream in terms of profit doesn't mean there is no interest and audience for it.
Just got it after hearing that the patch went live! Just two levels done, and i'm enjoying myself for sure! It gets the adrenaline pumping like nothing else, and the visuals are nice. Nothing really remarkable, it's no Horizon CotM or RE8 but it gets the job done and it's clear and (mostly)sharp. Glad Supermassive Games sorted it out!
Switchback VR finally had it's resolution/fidelity patch, so i decided to go for the purchase. Defo going to check it out this weekend, alongside a bit of Zelda TotK and Hubris or GT7.
@Spanky84 Lol! Well, after a long day of work i just don't have the energy left to go play VR stuff that's really physical all the time i guess. Don't get me wrong btw, i love anything VR and am looking forward to Quest 3 just as much as you! You just summed up some stuff of PSVR 2 that i don't see as really negative, the controller rings, oled mura, bulky visor, cable and small sweetspot all are all just a matter of getting used to. Every headset has it's pro's and cons, and i personally prefer PSVR 2 over Quest 2. I just don't see Quest 3 making that much of a difference in that regard, but we'll see. It's the games that count eventually. I'm busy with Zelda TotK right now and having a blast, such a wonderfully crafted game! Haven't tried the Pikmin 4 demo yet but after reading your comment i'm not sure if i still want to, lol. Enjoy your games, no matter which system you prefer!
@Spanky84 Pff, Meta Quest fanboy at work here.. But hey, did you ever consider buying a cable management system? That way the cable won't bother you at all and you can easily extend it with a compatible cable if you find it too short. Personally i always play seated because gaming was, and is all about relaxing for me and i'm 45 years of age. A bit too old to run around, duck, crouch, hurt my knees in the process and get exhausted, lol. Moving my arms and neck while gaming is just about enough in my book.
@Art_Vandelay I'm with you all the way! I'm a VR enthousiast as you might have guessed, and i get a little carried away if i get excited, that's all. I'm into VR a bit longer, i got a PSVR in 2017 and my gaming needs shifted towards that ever since. So much even that i find it hard to go back to flat, although i still do play some favorites because there is no other way(Zelda, Battlefield, Cyberpunk etc.) Btw, the 80%-20% figure you made is pretty damn accurate in my case too. Flat gaming isn't going anywhere ofcourse, i just wished VR would be a bit more common ground by now than it actually is. The community is growing slowly but surely, still it's very much a niché thing where the big publisher boys can't make enough of a profit. They (still) largely pretend like the industry doesn't exist and as a result we(the VR fans) don't get the big AAA titles everybody knows and loves, and that can help push VR into the mainstream. The VR community is big enough to survive on it's own(thank god) and hopefully one day every new title will be a hybrid where gamers can choose for themselves where and how to play it. Did i get carried away again? Jeez... Anyway, tnx for reading and great to hear you enjoy VR too!
That's a pretty CGI trailer!😑Love me some Bladerunner, any cyberpunk sci fi game is welcome, i love this dystopian take on humanity's future(depressingly realistic too, mind you) but this trailer once again tells you nothing about the actual game. I'm excited though, i loved Stray and the world Annapurna created showed they can build dense environments with a lot of atmosphere. Can't wait for some actual gameplay and background info!
*Edit: Stray was developed by BlueTwelve Studios, i need to learn how to read.. Annapurna is just the publisher.
@thefourfoldroot1 It's allright! looks very good, has plenty of varation in the gameplay, in between the action-packed sections there's plenty of room for exploration and slower paced moments too. A little generic maybe in design and some annoying bugs, but chances are they will be ironed out eventually. If you like sci fi and love variation(shooting, exploring, climbing, swimming, crafting) don't hesitate to get it!
I enjoyed Fracked, but somehow this fails to get me anywhere near excited for some reason. The short playtime aside, i don't think i will pick it up at all tbh. I got Hubris a few days ago and enjoy it, but i also bought Red Matter 2 just a few hours ago and played for a bit... I am into VR ever since PSVR1 dropped, played a ton of titles and i'm not that easily impressed anymore but... my mind=blown!!! RM2 plays, looks, feels just about perfect in every sense! The scale, atmosphere and immersion are off the charts man! Pure magic! Sorry for being totally off topic, lol but i highly recommend it to anyone that owns a PSVR 2. That game is something else, and i'm just an hour in! I'm not crazy about puzzle-heavy stuff most of the time, but i'm glad i pulled the trigger on this one! It wipes all arguments that VR is just a gimmick and will die out rather sooner than later, straight off the table with one gentle, (perfectly tracked😝) motion! VR IS the future of gaming, everyone that tells you otherwise is in serious denial. RM 2 proves it bigtime! Maybe i will pick up Synapse someday after all when it's on a heavy discount, to end this rant of love for the medium and appreciation for the devs of Synapse for staying in the VR space. That's worth something for sure, the talent and VR knowledge are certainly there!!
Aah put a sock in it! The game itself was allright, the foundation and gameplay were solid but it was a technical disaster on last gen consoles. Crashes, bugs, glitches and a horrible framerate to an extend that made it borderline close to unplayable. I loved the atmosphere of the city though, it made me play halfway through on PS4 Pro. When i got a PS5 i finished it and it was a relief to see it perform decent there. It's a good game, the story, the city's architecture and atmosphere, the characters and shooting mechanics were all fine. The AI of npc's were and still are questionable at least, leaning towards poor when compared to a RDR 2 or GTA 5 which are much older games. The setting basically saved it for me. That said, i'm looking forward to the expansion though. Hope it adds plenty improvements to the AI and shooting mechanics.
Personally i would rather have a Splinter Cell game in VR, but ok. I abandoned the AC series after Unity because i felt burned out, i played every previous installment up untill the end. A VR adaptation has my interest, but i can imagine it'll be much like a Horizon CotM, climbing buildings as the main gameplay mechanic. We'll see.
I haven't played on the Switch for years, Super Mario 3D World was the last game i touched for the expansion part Bowser's Fury. That has changed since friday, i'm a sucker for Zelda since i got Ocarina of Time all those years back and every new installment is something to celebrate in my book! I got to the point of some serious insomnia, for the last two nights i finally went to bed when the birds already started singing.. I'm totally hooked on TotK, enchanted so to speak and i'm loving every second of it! It is pretty much my dream Zelda game, it builds upon and improves on most things of BotW that were up for debate and the immense scope(the massive cave system underneath the surface is exactly what i felt was lacking in BotW) and the sheer creativity of the gameplay mechanisms make it an absolute joy to goof around with. In comparison i struggle to fully connect with Horizon FW. Despite the new map and superior graphics i have some serious issues really wanting to know what happens next and therefore i have shelved it for an unknown period of time. The feeling of playing the same game as the first one is just so overly present. How different is that with TotK for me personally, i can't stop playing and when i do i'm thinking about it all the time. The Zelda series remains to be the undesputed king of expansive action/adventure games in my book, it's nostalgic, charming, magical and just so much fun to plunge into over and over!(Sry Horizon) I'm a devoted Playstation(VR) gamer most of the time, just not right now..!🙃🛡⚔
@wiiware Yeah, i started out with resolution mode enabled on PS5, played for a bit, switched out of curiosity to performance mode and never went back. I will always prefer what feels better over what looks better.
Great and all, but as long as the worlds inhabitants behave in the exact same manner as they do on an Xbox One what's the point? They still move in the same unrealistic way and behave just as dumb as in almost any other open-world videogame. GTA5 and RDR 2 did that already better many years ago. Bottomline: You can bump up the resolution and reflect as many assets as you want, as long as the AI and animations stay well behind it will never look like real life.
Yeah, well maybe they could have just implemented an increase in walking speed, making it running speed when you push the analogue stick further in any given direction. With somekind of lock-on mechanism to focus on one enemy at a time, much like Zelda's Z-targeting but without the backflips, and then double tap a button to dash out of the way from incoming attacks, replacing the dodge-roll thing. Movement outside of combat was terribly slow to begin with anyway and therefore not really suitable for combat. I'm just spewing what comes to mind, i'm no developer but games like Skyrim VR played fine with faster motion while multiple enemies attacked with no big changes to the core mechanics. Or like Sairento did, short distance teleports to get out of the way quick. I would have loved to just play Forbidden West in VR with some stuff adjusted to make it work in first-person, but it would shrink the players that are actually up for that to just a bunch of VR vets..🙂I understand why they went for something more accessible but it's a bit of a letdown they didn't go all-in with a game as great as Horizon. Still a good game as it is though, loved playing through it!
I am a bit dissapointed it won't make it to PSVR2 then, but on the other hand i didn't spend as much time with it than i initially thought i would. I didn't have the patience/perseverance/time to go and try create something myself, i'm lazy by nature, a bad characteristic of mine which is a shame because i am a creative person at heart and do have some talent to make nice artwork/drawings, paintings and even music. The thought of making a game, or at least a playable experience proved to be a bit too intimidating i guess but i loved logging in and see what others came up with. Glad it will stay online though, and i will continue to check it out every now and then. Also, get this on PS Plus Essential asap Sony, lunacy it didn't happen already!
Loved CotM as a whole, the game is just so beautiful! Only being able to move in a circle during combat was slightly dissapointing for a seasoned VR player like myself, but understandable because it was aimed clearly at newcomers first and foremost. It would have been nice if there was an option to just battle it out making use of the full 3D space, but it is what it is. A more open world/environment kind of approach would have been nice too, it felt a tad too linear and limited for my taste but overall it was a cool experience for sure.
I think a PS5 Pro could very well see the light of day eventually, and chances are i'm going to upgrade again just like i did with the PS4. Initially i wanted to skip the PS4 Pro because it runs the exact same stuff the OG PS4 did, in some cases with somewhat better performance. On a tv set the difference in gfx. didn't exactly blow my socks off most of the time, but the 60fps performance mode for some games was really nice. The PSVR was the real reason i got a Pro, it really did adress much of the bluriness and/or jaggies in Pro-supported titles like Blood & Truth or Skyrim VR. If a PS5 Pro can do something similar for PSVR2(keeping it relevant, making it more future-proof) then i'm most likely on board!
@ItsBritneyB_tch Spoiler alert: The giraffe scene is in there, 99.5% sure. I saw a picture published somewhere when they were shooting that particular event, maybe it didn't make the final cut but that seems highly unlikely to me since it was an iconic moment in the first game.
Horizon: Call of the Mountain, i play mostly VR so i haven't tried a single game that's listed. My backlog of pancake games is severely lagging behind, still lost in God of War 2018 and Days Gone to give some sort of indication, lol. I want to give Atomic Heart a chance someday, but that will likely be when PSVR 2 is at the end if it's lifecycle and new releases have dried up i guess. Next pancake game i will get at the launch will be Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom btw, only Switch game that can make me boot that thing up again after three years of gathering dust, lol.
@NEStalgia Maybe that goes for MMO's, i don't play those, but in the average shooter you're perfectly fine not using voicechat. Almost no one uses that when going in solo, apart from maybe something like Rainbow 6 or Firewall ZH you won't be blamed for not doing so! Don't let it keep you away from playing online shooters!
For all the people that are struggling to find a comfortable way to wear the headset, having trouble to keep it in place and are experiencing headaches due to pressure points, try wearing a thin-fabric beanie! I noticed pretty quick that PSVR 2 isn't exactly on par with PSVR 1 in terms of comfort, and wearing a thin beanie has improved that to great extend! How Sony managed to screw this up is beyond me, all they had to do was copy the ergonomics of the first one for crying out loud! The beanie trick saved it's comfort for me personally(i'm bald so no hairdo worries for me😁). Highly recommended!
I will be spending time trying to finish some PSVR games before my preorder of the PSVR 2 will arrive. Fracked, Star Wars Squadrons, Resident Evil 7 and Skyrim VR all still need some love..

Re: Mini Review: Across the Valley (PSVR2) - Repetitive Farming Simulator Crawling with Bugs
The most unappealing PSVR 2 game just got worse..
Re: Talking Point: Is 2024 Too Soon for PS5 Pro?
Re: The Last of Us 2 Was the Most Downloaded PS4 Game in February
Great! I like the series as well as the games, the more the merrier! Hurry up with that multiplayer thing Naughty Dog!
Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Episode 8 - Streamlining Hollows Out Iconic Moments
@ItsBritneyB_tch Spoiler alert: The giraffe scene is in there, 99.5% sure. I saw a picture published somewhere when they were shooting that particular event, maybe it didn't make the final cut but that seems highly unlikely to me since it was an iconic moment in the first game.
Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS5, PS4 Game in February 2023?
Re: Mini Review: Zenith: The Last City (PSVR2) - VR MMO Is Heavy on Content, Light on Entertainment
Re: PSVR2 Early Adopters Are Struggling to Find the Sweet Spot
Re: Out Today: PSVR2 Brings Next-Gen VR to the Masses
No today for me too. My delivery is scheduled for friday unfortunately, but that's allright. Two days of more hype, lol
Re: PSVR2 Demos and Trials Available on PS Store Tomorrow
@Ravagespawn That wouldn't make sense since a fair chunk of the playerbase has a discless PS5.
Re: All PSVR2 Launch Games
Pavlov VR, Resident Evil 8 and Horizon CotM for me at launch!
Re: All PSVR2 Launch Games
@BrettAwesome The recently announced Wingman will be right up your alley then!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 464
I will be spending time trying to finish some PSVR games before my preorder of the PSVR 2 will arrive. Fracked, Star Wars Squadrons, Resident Evil 7 and Skyrim VR all still need some love..
Re: Yes, You Can Play Non-VR PS5 Games with PSVR2's Cinematic Mode
@AdamNovice Can't wait to try Battlefield 2042 this way!
