Re: Xbox, PC Sci-Fi RPG Starfield Won't Be Revealed for PS5 Until Next Year

Trousersnake

Never really played Starfield aside from the opening hour-or-so. I love Bethesda rpg's and to get me actually excited for this it also needs a PSVR 2 version. I played Skyrim VR to pieces for several years and Microsoft just recently announced Flight Simulator '24 for both PS5 and PSVR 2, so it's not entirely out-of-reach in that regard?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 596

Trousersnake

I had to take a quick(so i thought) look at that new No Man's Sky update in VR. It's the very first PSVR 2 game that now supports PSSR if you've got a PS5 Pro and holy *****, the difference is HUGE! It eliminates ALL of the aliasing issues, runs way, WAY better and looks super crisp as far as the eye can see! As somebody who plays mainly in VR, this is where i got my Pro for in the first place! This needs to come to GT7 as well, heck, it needs to be implemented in every VR2 game from now on as the technology is nothing short of amazing in combination with a PSVR 2! I'm addicted to NMS allover again, played until the sun came up and then some more..πŸ₯΄ Oh yeah, i also played some Forefront(basically Battlefield in VR) on my Quest 3, the open alpha is live again this weekend and it's pretty dope i must say

Re: Earn 30 Battlefield 6 Items for Free in New Battlefield 2042 Event

Trousersnake

Thought the beta was an utter dissapointment, didn't like the mostly infantry-focussed maps one bit. It's a little early to jump into conclusions yet, but one might hope the finished product has more large, open vehicle based maps. I played BF 2042's Iwo Jima map yesterday and it's actually a great reimagining, no cut corners here. A pleasant surprise!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 592

Trousersnake

I'm hopelessly addicted to Hitman World of Assassination in VR(again) and still lost in Into the Radius so probably these two, and i've just came round to finally properly start Alien Rogue Incursion. My Backlog is kinda out of control, as usual. I've found a little hidden gem for my Quest 3 as well recently, it's still in early access and kinda bare bones but really promising. It's called The Pirate: Republic of Nassau and it looks great for a standalone game, it's open world and lends a thing or two from AC Black Flag and Sid Meiers Pirates! The naval battles are very similar to AC4/Skull & Bones and it has the same kind feel to the management, exploration and strategy as Sid Meiers Pirates! had. New stuff is added constantly and it's dirt cheap, highly reccommended if you liked the aforementioned games and have a Meta Quest 3!

Re: Battlefield 6 Officially Confirmed, Reveal Trailer on Thursday

Trousersnake

Yeah, i'm still interested, i'm a BF vet. that has played 'em all since BF2 on the PC, and even stuck around during the more difficult times. BF2042 eventually turned out allright imo, maybe it's not a really good BF game but it's a solid online shooter these days. BF6 looks promising so i'll be there when it launches(again)

Re: Poll: 15 Years of PS Plus - What Do You Think of Sony's Subscription Service?

Trousersnake

I just have what's now called 'Essential'. I'm not playing an awful lot online these days, but when i occasionally do feel the urge i want to have access to it at all times. Forking out that much money for a console that can't even do online MP and cloud based saving just feels dead wrong to me in a way, so i stay subscribed. The monthly 'free' games that come with it almost never catch my interest, mainly because i'm on PSVR 1&2 all the time anyway but that's just me

Re: Oblivion Remastered Out Now on PS5, Price and Download Size Revealed

Trousersnake

@CaptD Sony opted for a Hitman WoA remastered version on the PSVR 2 so it seems Can't blame 'em, the PSVR 2 version is bloody brilliant, it really is but i already sank hundreds of hours in the in comparison crippled version that was on the first PSVR. I would have settled for another huge, sandbox style rpg that actually hasn't been released on a Sony VR platform yet but it's allright. The support of smaller indie devs has been overwhelming up until now

Re: Oblivion Remastered: Everything New and All Changes Compared to the Original Oblivion

Trousersnake

These guys will have my eternal gratitude if they would announce VR support at some point. I never played Skyrim until Skyrim VR dropped in late 2018, and it propelled a game i didn't even bother with on a flatscreen to the most epic gaming experience i ever had. Period. Btw, couldn't get into Oblivion at all when i owned it on PS3, chances are that VR actually will get me engaged and eventually hooked, just like kinda similar stuff for VR like the previously mentioned follow-up and No Man's Sky

Re: Ex-Xbox System Seller Starfield Edges Ever Closer to PS5

Trousersnake

Am i interested? YES! I played it for a couple of hours on the cinema screen of my Meta Quest 3, where i could fiddle around with Microsoft's Xbox streaming service for just €1. It was kinda playable but the hiccups grew from minor to seconds long screen freezes so i gave up on it entirely. Thing is, i love Bethesda RPG's and always wanted to play Starfield. The couple of hours i had with it i enjoyed, so i'll be definitely picking it up. Downside is that i turned to the religion that is VR for me for almost eight years now and generally i don't give a rat's ass about anything flatscreen these days. The time i can spend on gaming is all about PSVR 2 and Quest 3, and after 500+ hours of Skyrim VR i want everything Bethesda to be in VR. The possibility of that happening comes a little closer if Starfield actually gets a PS5 release but i doubt if i'll ever again put hundreds of hours in a pancake game ever again to be honest. Maybe GTA6 can manage that, i'll be picking it up for sure just to be part of the cultural phenomenon it has become but any other ordinairy pancake game is destined to get very little interest from me

Re: Battlefield Fans Stand at Attention as EA Teases Community Testing Program

Trousersnake

BF 2042 eventually turned out allright. I stuck around and sank 600+ hrs. in it, it may not be a very good BF game but it's a solid online shooter in it's current state. It does a few things better than any BF before it but you have to play extensively to notice and appreciate it. The gunplay is good, very responsive and the game runs and looks really well. The decision to focus on 64 players again for the maps that released later on was a good one, just like the return of the class system, although it's slightly different than before. Curious to see what DICE comes up with this time around

Re: Shuhei Yoshida on PSVR2: 'I'm Sorry'

Trousersnake

I love my PSVR 2, it's the best place to play the multiplatform VR games. I've got a Quest 3 as well for the exclusives and multimedia functionalities but as far as games are concerned it's PSVR 2 all the way. The recently released Arken Age is a gem of an VR game, it really shows what the PSVR 2 can do in terms of visuals and gameplay. Recommended.

Re: Alien: Rogue Incursion (PSVR2) - A Solid First VR Venture into an Iconic Sci-Fi World

Trousersnake

The game already received two post-launch patches that should adress an issue or two. I got it, didn't play much yet but being 'inside' this iconic world with great looking environments is reason enough for me to be all giddy and full excitement. Aarons score feels on the low side for me but at least it can be considered 'good'. Behemoth, which i'm currently really enjoying as well got relentlessly slaughtered here. That game is already much better and far less buggy than the review build Aaron must have played, i'm still in shock it got a 4 here.

Re: Behemoth (PSVR2) - Great Concept, Poor Execution

Trousersnake

I played for a couple of hours, didn't reach the first Behemoth yet but shelved it for now. I enjoyed what i've played so far but yeah it clearly needs more time in the oven. There's a huge patch announced for tomorrow that should bring the blood effects back on PSVR 2(accidentally removed by the day one patch) and Quest 3 gets a lot of fixes as well. I hope it'll be enough to improve the overall experience but i might hold off a bit longer

Re: Talking Point: Is It Finally the Right Time to Buy PSVR2?

Trousersnake

@yoda87960 I had the 'VR Cover' as well, i presume you mean that one, and although it made the headset a bit less awful to wear it's a far cry from what Globular Cluster manages to do. I don't have to tighten the knob at all, it stays perfectly in place and is up there with PSVR 1 in terms of comfort for me. Glad i can help, happy gaming!

Re: Talking Point: Is It Finally the Right Time to Buy PSVR2?

Trousersnake

For all the people who find PSVR 2 uncomfortable and the sweet spot hard to maintain out of the box(i struggled for months with both after the initial purchase), i strongly recommend buying the Globular Cluster comfort mod. It's available through Amazon.co.uk or directly at the company themselves and it solves all(at least in my case) of the known comfort/sweet spot issues with ease. It's not cheap but almost a necessity for prolonged PSVR 2 gaming sessions, and lots of others i spoke to agree with me. It's a high quality product with multiple mix-and-match options, thought-out very well. I can't use PSVR 2 without it, you can thank me later.

Re: No Man's Sky: Worlds Part I Revamps the Universe in Biggest Update of 2024

Trousersnake

Ok, here we go again! I honestly never, ever before(i play videogames since i was a little kid, now in my 40's) have played a game for EIGHT years in a row that still gets regular content drops.. One of a kind! The PSVR 2 version runs mostly great by now as well, it's THE way to play NMS this console gen. i think. If Light No Fire is going follow the same kind of business strategy/roadmap/QoL support as NMS, which it probably will, it's a day one purchase for me! Insane thought that i once payed €60 for NMS and that i'm still getting all kinds of free content as we speak. Amazing, cheers to you Hello Games!🍻🍾πŸ”₯🀘πŸ’₯

Re: PS Plus Premium Gets 6 New PSVR2 Games, Available to Download Now

Trousersnake

@Frmknst What a lot of people aren't aware of is the fact that the new Astrobot game was already well underway in development before the PSVR 2 even had a releasedate. It was always meant to be a flat PS5 game, my guess is Sony wants Astro to be their mascot in the same way Mario is for Nintendo. Making it a PSVR 2 only game would never have the same effect due to the small install base. Nontheless i think it's a damn shame Sony didn't announce something for PSVR 2 made by one of their first-party studio's at the last State of Play, most of the PSVR 2 owners bought the expensive headset for the exclusives
