Sounds like a cash grab, with limited games on release and if your into basketball...you're slam dunk'd. They do tend to settle down in price though after a year.
@lacerz Imo, the disc version actually lots a lot better now seeing it on the horizontal, with the optical drive being underneath, I thought it sat above when I saw it vertical.
@Nem I did misinterpret what you meant, I can see your point and I prefer physical media also, now if only the games that were on the disc didn't need massive patches. That's the danger, Publishers/Sony could pull the downloads/patches at any point.
@Nem I too will go for the disc version, you can play ultra blu-ray but really aside from copying it's only used for the rights management/licence. The disc installs the full game to the HDD so I will be interested to see what expansions they offer. Sony are not going to make an SSD with superior I/O to then rely on optical disc read speeds.
Surely it sits horizontal as well as vertical, that has been the design choice since the PS2. I'm sure in the reveal they showed it briefly horizontal zero down.
The music choice was awful, it didn't fit the atmosphere of the game at all. Boy going on about stretched limousines in some kind of Medieval/Gothic architecture world. They done the same with the Doom Eternal trailer - odd.
@undercoveragent It's not different to how games run on the PS4 just now, you have the disc but the full contents are installed to the HDD, it only checks the disc is present for rights management. The disc version gives the option to use Ultra Blu-Ray and of course physical games but in the end they all copy to the internal storage. They are not going to make an SSD with superior I/O to then run from a disc.
@kyleforrester87 I think it's because when you purchase something you wish to use it when you like. However servers cost money to run, at least it can still be played off-line.
An amazing game, I feel one of the best racers I have played and turns out to be my most played game (as per the PS4 stats rundown) Just Imagine what Evolution could have done with the PS4 Pro.
@twenty90seven Just compared it again, and yes you are correct. The 5 isn't correct, it is curved on the official reveal - same font but a curve on the 5...
I'm a playstation fan but I don't think the PS5 will be as powerful due to the form factor.
The XBox Series X looks essentially like a Desktop Tower, the PS5 will go for a unit which will fit in a media cabinet in the living room, they want it to appeal to all markets, not just hardcore gamers.
The smaller form factor means restraints in all aspects, PSU, GPU and of course trying to keep it cool. Sony will need to keep producing excellent first party material as Multi plats will obviously look better on the more powerful console. We will just have to see what the PS5 reveal is.
I don't think PS will go down the tower route, Sony want people to adopt this in the sitting room. This is most likely a large majority of users. Having something that doesn't fit in the suburbia media cabinet won't go down well with buyers. I suspect that restricts a lot of design and cooling for a console. Xbox have stated they are breaking the boundaries on the design with the Series X, essentially a PC tower, definitely for a gaming/bedroom than the sitting room.
Disgusting - I mean they haven't even waited until the end of the PS4 life span. They have a cheek to have Drive Club reduced in the Spring Sale. If I am playing Drive Club off-line it better not sit with Network unavailable across the screen, I seem to remember this at launch when there were issues with the servers. I am not a fan of these on-line only games, if the publisher doesn't get the profit or fanbase they expected, they will shut down the servers screwing the people that did bother to buy it. Obviously they are massive costs involved to run and maintain server equipment but it just leaves a bitter taste in ones mouth!
Iron Mode! I not sure how long I took to play through it 25+ hours...and you can't save. So do you just have to suspend your PS4 so you can actually eat?
I know it is the way these days, shame the performance and stability wasn't there from the start.
I received my pre-order last week. Hoping it would be a slick Ridge Racer type experience but unfortunately not. Soon as the speed picks up the graphics plunge in quality - it's as if you have just loaded a streaming video waiting on the quality to increase. I was so disappointed I turned it off after 2 laps. This was after a PS4 Pro update for Graphics vs Frame rate.
Sony screwed up closing Evolution, yes Driveclub had launch issues but what followed was pure brilliance. Imagine what they would have continued to release for it, not to mention if they added Pro support. Still one of the best looking and playable driving games IMO.
I think a 4 is a bit harsh but I wish I had waited on the sale of this rather than pay full price, especially due to the screen tearing/anomalies. The cut scenes are far to compressed in video quality.
Talking of sound design, there is no "click" when you run out of bullets, so when you dive in and forget to pick up a replacement gun or never unlocked infinite ammo for your pistol you are sure to be killed.
As mentioned the enemies spot you instantly even through the rice paper windows. Cover is also hard to distinguish, it is enjoyable in short bursts but didn't get me hooked in the same way as Hotline Miami.
@get2sammyb It's a good price but I don't think it's reasonable to ask an extra £20 for some additional content for a game that is not released yet. Understandable if it's a hefty DLC pack. If people buy into this model it will become the norm. IMO some of these game editions are out of hand Super Digital Ultimate Anniversary edition etc, yours for just £150.
Definitely agree with Drive Club, turns out that is my most played game according to the My PS4 Life Video. If only Sony supported Evolution Studios to the same extent as Polyphony Digital. Imagine what DriveClub would have looked like with PS4 Pro support and more additional content.
Inside was an incredible game, like Sammy's says it will be a long wait. I suppose you cannot rush perfection, especially considering it is created by a small team of people.
It's a real shame, why are Sony shutting these UK studios? Studio Liverpool, Evolution. If it is related to Tax breaks the UK Government needs to get this addressed. There is so much talent in UK but fewer and fewer opportunities. These studios were producing exciting IP's not just another banal FPS.
@gmxs Well said! I can't stand this want everything for free mentality.
I have actually discovered and enjoyed games that I would never thought of trying out. Everyone's taste is different and yes sometimes PS+ is disappointing but you can't please everyone.

The older Philips 46PFL8606T is 1ms, just a shame it's 1080, I'll need to change it for PS5 to get the visual benefit.
This was when the used Sharp Panels, I think they now use LG.

Re: Metro: Exodus - Technical Limitations Subdue an Otherwise Solid Shooter
Thoroughly enjoying the game, but I can see why the review states "Not Bad" as the technical issues/bugs are harboring the experience.
I really wish they delayed it's launch and solved the many, many bugs which is causing a love/hate experience with the game.
Hopefully they will be patched out but it's a sad state of affairs that games are released so broken these days.
If it is ever released on PS5 with fixes it will truly reach it's potential.
