Re: Naughty Dog Can't Wait to Show New PS5 Projects

Sakisa

It has been about 18 years since the last good Naughty Dog game, and doubling down on trying to be a tv drama in game form will just keep taking them in the wrong direction. Whatevs though, they’ve been a lost cause for years.

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - Sonic Frontiers

Sakisa

Certainly one of my top games this year, but yeah, it sure is divisive.

Still, this is a step up on the Push Square articles that went out of their way to blindly clown on this game even when impressions were becoming more positive.

Re: One Piece Odyssey Looks Like a PS5, PS4 Must Play for JRPG Fans

Sakisa

Yeah, if even the basic design of Luffy seems too goofy or weird to you then maybe stay clear of One Piece. He’s the tamest design compared to a lot of other characters…and even then, recent manga revelations have Luffy getting waaay more goofy and the series constantly doubles down on rule of funny over rule of cool.

Which I appreciate, too many Jujutsu Kaisen’s and Demon Slayer’s out there with next to no fun character designs.

Re: Game of the Year: Scott's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022

Sakisa

Solid top 5. The big marquee PS exclusives are hit and miss for me too and God of War is a definitive miss for me, but props for shouting out Sifu and Sonic Frontiers. Those are among my top games this year too, and you make me curious to check out Neon White.

Re: Insomniac's Spider-Man Spotted in New Across the Spider-Verse Movie Trailer

Sakisa

@EquiinoxGII I disagree, at least for now. I want 2 to focus on symbiote shenanigans as thoroughly as possible, including it corrupting Peter at some point and with Harry probably being Venom and the symbiote is tied to Oscorp right now, maybe we get a possible 11th hour villain in Green Goblin.

I do hope the Insomniac Spider-Man series does do Spiderverse shenanigans for a third game though.

Re: Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn Trademarked by Bandai Namco in Europe

Sakisa

I hope it addresses some of the growing pains that would obviously come with the Dahnans and Renans coexisting as a single society as equals after the Renans oppressed and enslaved the Dahnans for hundreds of years. The main game kinda...didn't touch on that at the end, and it's not a plot thread I think should've been left dangling.

Great game though, probably my favorite Tales Of, would be down to play a big expansion or even sequel.

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Will Have a Different Harry Osborn on PS5

Sakisa

He had a pretty small role all things considered in the first game, so it isn't a huge shift imo.

Still, kind of a bummer all the same for Scott Porter.

It's weird how game to game with Spider-Man we seem to be getting tiny little retcons already, considering it's only 1 and a half games into its life right now.

Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off

Sakisa

@CapGod Fair enough, I may have been overly aggressive in my posts.

But I do have a passion for a lot of SEGA's back catalog and how they've payed respects to it on a lower budget. I'm genuinely Sorry if i've come across as a jerk. I have a lot of passion for SEGA and their IPs in general.

Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off

Sakisa

@CapGod I’m aware a lot of indie games are trash. A lot of games in general are trash.

You know what isn’t trash? Streets of Rage 4. Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. All games you implicitly said didn’t matter with saying SEGA is only Like A Dragon and worse SMT.

Besides, Hollow Knight is indie and is better than any AAA game in the last decade.

Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off

Sakisa

@nomither6 It isn’t, but there’s enough of an audience for them that saying SEGA’s contributions to that space don’t count, and only their ‘blockbusters’ do is pretty closed minded and ignorant. Same for their AA output.

They’re more than Like A Dragon and SMTs more shallow visual novel offspring.

Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off

Sakisa

@CapGod Triple A blockbuster is not always ‘for the win’. For the most part they’re more bloated and bland than smaller, tighter games by my estimation.

Only thing I care about from Capcom is Resident Evil right now. At least until Dragon’s Dogma 2 or they get off their asses and make a new Mega Man. SEGA meanwhile has Like A Dragon (finally got rid of the garbage Yakuza name and won’t acknowledge it as such anymore), Puyo Puyo, Monster Boy/Wonder Boy, Valkyria Chronicles 4, SMT (and Persona I guess) last year’s Monkey Ball remasters, and Streets of Rage 4, all of which sold and reviewed well. Maybe you like to be reductive and write off indies and smaller games, but don’t claim to speak for the ‘majority’ when you knock that stuff or say blockbusters or nothing.

Re: Poll: Will You Pay the PSVR2 Launch Price?

Sakisa

Am I mad that VR gives me debilitating headaches? A little I guess.

Does it mean I don’t need to be invested in the latest Sony controversy though and just enjoy the fireworks? Sure does! What a comment section.
