Re: Rumour: More Persona Games Could Be Coming to Consoles

Sakisa

@WallyWest I still don’t know why people keep saying ‘Xbox players don’t care about Japanese games’ when they clearly do based on stuff like this.

Just because Japan doesn’t care about Xbox much doesn’t mean that a player base outside of Japan that loves both Xbox and Japanese style games doesn’t exist.

Re: Xbox on Acquisitions: The Last Thing We Want to Do Is Take Games Away from PS5, PS4

Sakisa

If it's multiplayer and something like COD, expect it on Playstation. If it's something like Crash, Spyro, and Tony Hawk getting a new game i'd also expect it on Playstation since the series started and has brand recognition there.

If it's something like Elder Scrolls, DOOM, or Fallout which aren't necessarily multiplayer or synonymous with Playstation that's when i'd get worried.

At least that's how i'm interpreting all this, who knows if i'm off mark or not.

Re: Spider-Man Games Could Have Been Exclusive to Xbox

Sakisa

@Royalblues I do play quite a bit of Switch as well tbh, my Series X has just gotten the bulk of my playtime though recently. When Xenoblade 3 and the Live A Live remake come out it’ll definitely be my most played system during that time.

Re: Sony: Acquisition of Bungie Represents a Major Step Forward in Becoming More Multiplatform

Sakisa

@NEStalgia Insomniac as a whole seemed to have their own views on this that got snuffed out, and maybe if Sony hadn’t bought them they could’ve said and done more for their values than they already are.

Maybe Sony is protecting their own interests here, but if they want to muzzle the companies they buy then maybe they should just not buy Bungie. Or Bungie can tell them where to stick their muzzles.

Re: Sony: Acquisition of Bungie Represents a Major Step Forward in Becoming More Multiplatform

@Uncharted2007 We are not going to agree at all, but quite frankly if Disney took the hit to move their business away from Florida that’d be great. They may not be headquartered there but good luck with their tourism industry if Disney World goes. At that point Florida is just a glorified swamp.

@Apfelschteiner I highly doubt this will blow over. At least not anytime soon when Bungie has no intention of being muzzled on their values. And I stand by that they shouldn’t be.

Re: Sony: Acquisition of Bungie Represents a Major Step Forward in Becoming More Multiplatform

Sakisa

@Gbarsotini when the worldwide company is headquartered in the U.S. then the politics are going to affect a large number of your workforce, and the reports of internal backlash was fierce. Neutrality to those folks is signaling that Sony could give less of a crap about them.

And again, a global company in Microsoft had no problems with Double Fine speaking out and lo and behold, no controversy to be found!

Re: 'Multiple Sources' Said Sony Is Buying Square Enix, Allegedly

Sakisa

@OrtadragoonX I played it when it came out and was very disappointed by it. I don't care for the extra story elements and find it extremely tacky. The pacing was really slow and dragged out. Combat system was nice and yeah it looked pretty, but that amounts to nothing with how it, at least in my opinion, messed up as a remake by adding the stupid timeline ghost crap.

Re: 'Multiple Sources' Said Sony Is Buying Square Enix, Allegedly

Sakisa

The best Square Enix projects these days are on Switch so screwing Nintendo on this would suck. I don't care if garbage like current Final Fantasy and the VII Remake stays PS exclusive, but taking the HD-2D projects and Dragon Quest away from Nintendo where they dominate in Japan would leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Re: Tales of Arise Tops an Impressive 2 Million Sales

Sakisa

Was a fantastic game and in my top 3 games of last year. Well earned, albeit I do wish the endgame addressed more of the tension built up in the early game on the social issues and cycle of revenge that’d inevitably be a problem after credits rolled, but I understand the desire for a straightforward ending.

Re: Sonic Origins Spins to PS5, PS4 in June with Multiple Pricey Editions

Sakisa

@Porco It includes the Hidden Palace Zone that was cut from Sonic 2 and restored in the mobile port, there's a shot of it in the trailer at the beginning of when it shows the 'anniversary mode'. Considering these are the masterful mobile ports, which are largely considered the definitive versions of Sonic by the fanbase. The more faithful physics comparative to some of the ports and compilations we got, extra characters, restored content and widescreen all add up to make them the best ones to go to.

Widescreen for the Classic Sonic games is also absolutely a game changer, that extra screen real estate makes a tangible difference with how fast the games are. The fact that 3&K is now getting this treatment with even more bells and whistles on top of it basically means that this is THE best package for the Classic Sonic games provided it delivers on what it promises. The price tag may be a bit steep, but this is more than just 'dumping roms and calling it a day' like some people seem to think.

Re: Sonic Mania Maker Confirms Work on PS5, PS4 Compilation Sonic Origins

Sakisa

@jrt87 Nah, I will not be boycotting. Been waiting for a definitive widescreen port of 3&K like the enhanced mobile versions for years. Dedicated Classic Sonic fans know the value of this collection. These are far more than just roms shoved on a compilation like most of those SEGA compilations they put out.

That said, the DLC practices on this collection is bad.

Re: Sonic Origins Spins to PS5, PS4 in June with Multiple Pricey Editions

Sakisa

@Porco I actually do call it a remaster, since it restores cut content like Hidden Palace Zone, adds new characters to games that didn't have them previously such as Knuckles in Sonic 1 and CD, and adding the widescreen which actually does make a difference when it comes to Sonic.

This is far from half assed, unlike the Mega Drive collections people keep recommending in this comment section with shoddy port jobs.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus, PS Now's Makeover a Necessary and Positive Step for Sony

Sakisa

@Dezzy70 You thinking this is anything close to the previous Gen tells me how closed minded you are about Microsoft’s strategy. Sony wouldn’t be doing this if gamepass ‘couldn’t compete’ or didn’t move the needle, but keep living with your confirmation bias that because you see Series X on the shelf in the specific area that you live in means Microsoft and gamepass are failing despite the UK not being the center of the world that determines these things, nor that PC gaming and cloud gaming are also a part of the gamepass strategy, not just Xbox.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus, PS Now's Makeover a Necessary and Positive Step for Sony

Sakisa

@Dezzy70 What you're seeing in the UK is not a barometer for success or failure for Microsoft and it's short sighted to think that what you personally are seeing where you live is any indication on a global company's success or failure.

I'll say this, where I live, good luck getting a Series X. They're still in high demand.

And again, Sony's big AAA titles are boring to me. Cool if you like them, but i'm far more interested in developers that are more creative and free wheeling with their ideas even if it's at a smaller budget rather than trying to make the next graphics melting open world game that I'll forget about in a month, if that. That's why Gamepass is perfect for me and why Sony lost most of the good will I had for them when they shuttered Sony Japan Studio to double down on their bland Oscar bait games. You may think AAA games are what everyone wants and is the end all be all, but try to understand not everyone is like you or cares about what you care about.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus, PS Now's Makeover a Necessary and Positive Step for Sony

Sakisa

@Dezzy70 Your anecdotal experiences with seeing Series X consoles means nothing for if Gamepass is working or not, especially since the UK has always been a Playstation nation.

Either way though, this is a good move and depending on the games they bring from their older consoles I may be on board here. The output of Sony from 10-20 years ago was way more interesting than the new PS5 games they put out, exception being Returnal, so start stacking up the classics please!

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

Sakisa

Sony needs to do what works for them, and the curated legacy content for old systems (except Vita, RIP Vita) will actually probably get me to play my PS4 more since the PS2 is currently my most used Sony system these days. They’re not going to put their AAA big sellers on something like this and that’s fine since I care about the side of Sony Jim Ryan killed, quirky lower budget stuff. Returnal and Ratchet are the main reasons I even want a PS5 tbh, I’m over stuff like Horizon, Last of Us and God of War at this point.

What I REALLY want is Sony to start making stuff like Gravity Rush, Puppeteer, and Ape Escape again, maybe put that on this where it’ll stand a chance of getting more attention, like what Gamepass does for indies.

@UltimateOtaku91 You think Microsoft with all of their $$$ shortchanged the budget of HALO because of a model that they’ve gone all in on for years and have repeatedly stated works well for them? You know that sounds stupid right?
