The Winter Soldier will be added to Marvel's Avengers for free on 29th November 2022 as part of a big update for the game. Voiced by Scott Porter, he'll be given a new heroic mission chain "that sees the Avengers help him regain his confidence in his capacity for good and deal with the trauma inflicted on him by his captors". Finishing the mission chain unlocks the superhero's iconic outfit.
"The product of a Soviet black science program, The Winter Soldier emerged as a master assassin," a development blog post explains. "He adds to the roster an almost purely assault-focused hero focused on dealing damage to his enemies in a variety of ways. Players will find multiple different builds and playstyles to embody that character fantasy, from the ranged marksman to an expert hand-to-hand combatant, to the deadly super-soldier."
Alongside The Winter Solider — delivered as part of update 2.7 — there'll be the new Cloning Lab mission rolled into endgame content. With a battle against MODOK concluding the level, you'll need a Power Level of 175 to get started, with the mission pushing the overall Power Level up to 185. The blog post also says that beyond patch 2.7, the team will "continue with the ongoing revisions and tuning to Heroes that we started in 2.6 and continue in 2.7".

People still care about this game?
They really do just add the least interesting characters possible.
It’s nice that the free content for this game seems to have outlasted the attention span of the people who enjoyed dumping all over it. I guess they’ve moved on to rain on other people’s parades.
They really should have added some trophies to give people a further reason to return to the game

Genuinely regardless of the quality of this game, these characters are really bad. Most of them have been characters that are extremely close to other characters if I remember correctly (Hawkeye’s daughter, mighty Thor, she-hulk I think, and now the winter soldier to an extent) and the ones that weren’t were Hawkeye which isn’t gonna break the internet, a PlayStation exclusive, and Black Panther which was genuinely cool. Where’s Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Daredevil, anyone unique?

I still remember when this game got revealed with gameplay and I soooo hyped . Even with the funny looking character faces I didn't care... Man this turned out be a huge disappointment at least for me .
This had a solid campaign, but man, the multiplayer and post-game content could not have been any more of a drag. I'm looking forward to Midnight Suns and hope it turns out, but what I'm really chomping at the bit for is Spider-Man 2.

As a Plus game, is this worth getting the plat? Is it fun if you haven’t spent a dime on it?
@glassmusic I enjoyed the campaign, but the plat was definitely not fun to get, so I wouldn't recommend it.
@glassmusic Platinum is not bad minus the hive trophy. It’s terrible.
