Re: Sony Wants to Make PlayStation the Best Place to Play Third-Party Games

Sakisa

Yeah, PS5 is for exclusives only for me. I play third party games on Xbox because it’s where most of my friends are, and with my screwed up right arm the haptic feedback and rumble crap on PS5 is not a selling point. I just find the Playstation ecosystem to be the least interesting one in comparison to Nintendo’s and Xbox.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Octopath Traveler 2?

Sakisa

Ye

Playing it on Switch though, it's one of those games that i'll actively alternate between playing on TV and playing on free time at work. It's also where I played the first game and every other HD-2D release.

Re: Rumour: Konami to Go Big with Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, New Castlevania in Coming Months

Sakisa

@themightyant It's been a long, LONG time since Order of Ecclesia and Adventure Rebirth. We're talking DS and Wiiware era here. I need me some real Castlevania, and the 3D track record is spotty at best. I know the potential is there but I gots to know what I want. Dead Cells Return to Castlevania is unironically one of my most anticipated game releases this year and it's a DLC for an entirely different game.

Re: Legendary Game Designer Shinji Mikami Leaving Tango Gameworks

Sakisa

@themightyant eh, made up statistics are spotty but yeah, I got the gist. It's all always opinion in the end so again, respect to you for it and with you on hoping for a sequel that shaves off the weaknesses, I need more of Chai, Peppermint, 808, Macaron, CNMN, and Korsica.

@NEStalgia I'd like to think Miyamoto is hung up with his enthusiasm for Pikmin until retirement personally. Also yeah, the roughly 1% achievement I popped for beating Kale was a little concerning, but it was also in the first week of release so I wrote it off.

Re: Legendary Game Designer Shinji Mikami Leaving Tango Gameworks

Sakisa

@themightyant Took a read and I think I get where you're coming from on the parrying. For me I loved it, and it never failed to make me feel cool in the game, and the Korsica boss fight is one of THE highlights of the game for me, but at the same time it is absolutely the one mechanic that requires rhythm, which forgive me if I misinterpreted, but at the top you said is something you struggle with.

I could definitely see that being a frustration for someone. The samurai enemies were my absolute favorite in the game in terms of standard enemies, but yeah, when the game tries to be accommodating in the standard combat, it doesn't quite make it all the way in some areas, I can see that.

I uh...I think with Hi-Fi Rush at least I am in that 5% of gamers you described, though Rhythm Master mode is giving me a run for my money at the moment. I also don't think you were too harsh at all.

Re: Legendary Game Designer Shinji Mikami Leaving Tango Gameworks

Sakisa

I love how all the 'this always happens at Xbox crowd' are ignoring the likes of Tim Schafer and Josh Sawyer.

@themightyant Hey, you go with how you feel about the game, but I did see PX gameclub was doing the game this month. 8.5 or 9.0, it's clear that quibbles aside you had a good time and that's always a good thing. I won't lie, even this early on i'm hoping for a sequel that maybe does some fine tuning for a few of the rough edges.

Re: Legendary Game Designer Shinji Mikami Leaving Tango Gameworks

Sakisa

@themightyant I kinda get that, the final boss does change up the rhythm aspect in some ways, and I have my own little niggles too in that green enemies requiring Macaron to be called in twice for all their armor when he has the longest cool down...but those can't get in the way of the fact that this is one of those games when I decry 'they don't make them like they used to.'...well this one was made like they used to for me and all 12 tracks are certified bangers to me. Though track 6 is very very short.

To each their own though, glad you enjoyed it too, even if not quite as much as I did.

Re: Legendary Game Designer Shinji Mikami Leaving Tango Gameworks

Sakisa

@themightyant I actually really liked the parrying and how tough the final boss was, felt appropriate. It’s also a game laser targeted to my tastes though, very much reminding me of a Clover title in the same vein as Viewtiful Joe or God Hand, and they nailed it for me, making it…honestly a 10 by my estimation.

Re: Returnal Is Sony's Second Most Unpopular PC Game at Launch

Sakisa

@KaijuKaiser 'indie'. It's a game by a well staffed development team under Bethesda first, then Microsoft. At the least it's AA, but I doubt that distinction matters to you.

This is the problem with a TON of users on this site. If it ain't AAA, you call it indie then just write it off. Even though Hi-Fi Rush puts to shame any first party release from Playstation SINCE Returnal.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 463

Sakisa

The Metroid Prime remaster that dropped out of nowhere, the Dead Space remake that did not drop out of nowhere, and between those being my big games, I’ll also be playing Dead Cells and Castlevania Rondo of Blood. Getting unreasonably hyped for Dead Cells Return to Castlevania next month, and I don’t know if that’s my love for both Dead Cells and Castlevania, or just my sheer desperation for a new Castlevania game period.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

Sakisa

I take a live and let live attitude in regard to this game, and don’t judge anyone that plays it for whatever reason. We all live out different lives with our own experiences.

But I cannot and will not ever touch this game nor any Harry Potter product. Just can’t personally do it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 462

Sakisa

Post game Hi-Fi Rush, that game continues to be an absolute delight and might be my favorite first party Xbox game since Killer Instinct 2013, but I’m also getting back into Dead Cells since I haven’t really played it since the first DLC, and that Castlevania DLC is coming up. Man…they added a lot to this game since I played last. The other indie character weapons are great!

Might dabble around with Valkyrie Profile Lenneth on PS5 as well.

Re: Sony's MLB The Show 23 Costs $70 on PS5, Nothing on Xbox Game Pass

Sakisa

@Intr1n5ic Their track record of fostering devs is garbage, I agree. I don't think them bankrolling devs should be disregarded like you're doing though. Especially if it lets devs that have gotten screwed over in the past by other Publishers like Double Fine and Obsidian make what they want to make.

And doing the 'but that game doesn't count though' with Pentiment is the exact goalpost bulls*** i'm talking about. It reviewed very well, it found an audience, and is considered a success. Diminishing it as 'padding' because it isn't big AAA third person self important game #6468564 that wants 60 hours of my life is what I see way too many people do these days.

Re: Sony's MLB The Show 23 Costs $70 on PS5, Nothing on Xbox Game Pass

Sakisa

@Intr1n5ic you say 'as usual' when games like Pentiment only exist because of gamepass which Obsidian has admitted, and the only reason Psychonauts 2 even came out finished with all the bosses and stages intact is because of Microsoft's funding which Double Fine has admitted, so they do have an impact on the games and developers they buy, even with projects mid-development, even if only in part, so yes, i'm sure they had a decent impact on Hi-Fi Rush in terms of development, and they DEFINITELY had an impact with gamepass fostering its success as a shadow drop.

But looking at your post history, you're the exact poster i'm talking about as a 'pony that just moves goalposts' so tell you what, i'll disregard your opinion on the matter.
