yeah the thing is that games take a lot of time to get through. If you have a full time job and a family, even a 15 hour game can take weeks to finish, nevermind the open world behemoths. I pretty much stopped buying new games when I realized that my backlog was growing much more rapidly than I was finishing games.

@StitchJones yea there seems to be no rhyme or reason to DLC pricing these days. You'll see costume packs for $40+ alongside expansions that add hours of content for $10-20. Feels like they just pick numbers out of a hat sometimes.

That's exactly it. Years old games just don't add much value for me. IMO, the only subscription somewhat worthwhile is game pass ultimate for its day 1 new games. And even then, losing access when you unsubscribe is not very appealing.

I wish I had played this version of the game. I wish the version of Veilguard that I played had a cast of even half-decently written characters.

Kind of devalues their own service when they're basically saying that hey if you got this game through our subscription, which is a PAID service, you're a second class customer

I'm just here to express my astonishment that ... Days Gone of all games won back in 2019. Are readers here really so biased towards first party titles?

Deku Deals is fantastic, and if you're someone like me who has multiple consoles, all the information is in one place. No need for multiple wishlists. Plus it shows the sales history, so you can see how often the game goes on sale or if you're actually getting a good deal

A bit hyperbolic there. I play most games months, or even years after release, and the existence of spoilers has never negatively impacted my experience

This update actually pushed me to cancel my ps+ entirely today. I was already close since I already have gamepass and don't have enough time to properly make use of both subscriptions, but Sony clearly doesn't care about making this worthwhile for users.

I think you're probably overestimating how much the casuals who only buy EA FC, CoD etc. actually know about their system. Wouldn't be surprised if a large percentage are not even aware it's available on ps+

That is quite likely, in which case the title should have been something like "Resident Evil 9 Reveal Imminent, To Be Released in January"

This is such a small, unnecessary change, that is now going to be used in countless examples across the internet of how games are going "woke", "sweet baby" etc etc.

I actually would have loved this in 13 Sentinels. Let the game play itself through the battles, leaving me with the parts that I actually care about.

Worth noting that this is one of the worst reviews for the game so far. Most are more positive about it.

It sounds cool, but I have so much difficulty going to back to a game for DLC many months later. My skills and knowledge of the game have evaporated, but the DLC will expect endgame level skill.

I think Jason Schreier has already chimed in on this that something dead space related was being worked on at some point, but it wasn't a dead space 2 remake

Cost of living is vastly different in Japan. When I visited Tokyo, I was astonished at how cheap it was to do certain things like eating out at a restaurant. Close to 50% less than what I would pay at home.

This might be the first time where I think a remake is completely unnecessary

no, Crystal Chronicles has quite a bit lower score. Chronicles is the ps1 compilation of FFIV and Chrono Trigger

I'll admit, I naively thought that Embracer would be good for the industry when they started buying up some of these studios. Turns out they represent everything wrong in the business world.

ah excellent, one more opportunity to hold off on playing AC Valhalla because of how darn long I hear it is, until it inevitably leaves the service again.

I'm fully on board with remakes IF they're actually needed. There are so, so many games from the ps1 and ps2 eras that would greatly benefit from a remake. Yet, we keep getting word of ps3 and even ps4! remakes (Until Dawn). It's hard not to feel like they're just going for the lowest effort cash grabs.

Not sure why that's relevant. State of Plays never have big first party reveals. Anyone expecting that was setting themselves up for disappointment

so many remakes of relatively modern games. There are tons of actually older, dated games that would hugely benefit from a remake, but of course that would require more effort

This is just sickening. If any normal product were to drop in price by 90%, you would think they would be losing money on it, or losing any margin at least. Microtransactions are a complete scam

it's just kind of sad that after 8+ years, this is what we're getting from Rocksteady, a mediocre live service. Assuming it doesn't end up killing the studio, when's the next possibility of getting something good from them, another 5+ years likely?

I haven't played this yet, but was planning to. However, I absolutely do not care for roguelites/likes. To clarify, is this a separate mode or area within the game? Or is the whole game a roguelite?

Well, I guess Push Square and Pure Xbox readers have something in common. The first party exclusive is the winner no matter what. At least Spider-Man is a more reasonable choice than Starfield...

A victim of releasing in a stacked 2023. Had it released in the last couple of years, I have no doubt it would be getting far more recognition during awards season.

That's kind of a tough one. Should journalists pretend that the information is not out there and widespread already? I don't think it's such an easy answer.

must be tough for a site like push square to have to ignore the information coming out of this hack. There are some VERY newsworthy revelations in there. Some of it I really wish Sony would just be more open about and share publically anyway, regarding sales numbers etc.

can't really relate to the concern about spoilers. I never play games day 1, so effectively every game is 100% "spoiled" by time I get to it.

I really dislike roguelite/roguelikes unfortunatey, so I wish that there was no story content here, so that I could safely ignore it

Surprised to see all the negative reactions. Personally, there are 6-7 games here from my wishlist, which is fantastic.

Wow guess my tastes are quite different than most on this site. A roguelike add-on for God of War would be right at the bottom of my list
