Mina the Hollower PS5

Indie darling Mina the Hollower has now sold more than 500,000 copies since its release last month, further helping to ensure Yacht Club Games has a future in the games industry.

Reports from late last year suggested the developer was in financial trouble, to the point where it had to let go of staff. The team's co-founder, Sean Velasco, described Mina the Hollower as a "make-or-break" moment for the developer, and estimated 200,000 units would need to be sold for it to stay in the clear.

Now, less than two weeks after launch, the title has sold more than double that.

A social media post from Yacht Club Games thanked everyone who's bought the game, and explained how the team is blown away by the reception. "Thank you for playing, sharing, reviewing, streaming, and believing in our haughty little mouse. The adventure is just getting started!"

An incredible critical reception at launch will have helped sales, as Mina the Hollower is rated the highest game of 2026 so far on Metacritic. We weren't quite as enamoured by it, but it's clear there's a high-quality retro adventure on offer here.

"Mina the Hollower has sold 500,000 copies! Half a million Hollowers have descended into Tenebrous Isle, and we’re completely blown away," Yacht Club Games proudly confirmed. Are you one of them? Tell us in the comments below.
