Death Stranding 2 PS5

Sony is porting Death Stranding 2 to PC next month, but one of the details that appears to have gotten lost amongst the State of Play reveals is that the new version's bonus content will also be coming to PS5.

From the PlayStation Blog, there are new modes and features coming that add "new challenges and rewards". It's not stated what the additional content will be, though. What we do know is the PS5 version will be updated with ultrawide monitor support, including "21:9 UltraWidescreen for both gameplay and in-game cutscenes".

The patch will go live on PS5 on the same day the PC version releases, on 19th March 2026.

When the original Death Stranding title was ported to other systems via its Director's Cut edition, it was expanded with racing tracks and a Metal Gear Solid-esque stealth level. It's possible the sequel's extra content will take a similar form: little bonus modes rather than story additions.

Head of publishing at Kojima Productions, Jay Boor, signed off by thanking the fans for 10 years of support. "On behalf of everyone at the studio, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support!"
