Re: Round Up: Crimson Desert Reviews Are a Major Disappointment

PaperAlien

Im so confused by this doom headline, high 70s to low 80s seems pretty good! Just been watching a couple of reviews on youtube and the game seems pretty solid? Main complaints are Inventory / lack of storage (which is being added post launch) and the complete lack of info about how some things work (like fast travel points and how to heal your horse) so its on the extreme end of not hand-holding (theres no way points) pretty sure they will patch some of that stuff into the game pretty quickly though.

Pretty much seems like a single player MMO packed with exploration, hidden secrets and puzzles etc which some you can do on your own and some your gonna need to follow a guide / ask the reddit / discord community to help solve stuff.

Still looking forward to playing it, seems like you are getting a LOT for your money which is a good thing. If your wanting a fairly balanced take watch the Luke Stephens / Paul Tassi / Game Ranx reviews, they give good examples of the great, good, bad and frustrating things. Anyone still paying attention to IGN reviews, well thats on you.

Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess

PaperAlien

I like everything i've seen of it enough to hover over the Pre-Order button, but I still have no idea what its all about, like whats the plotline? Someone said it best earlier, But I hope its not a chuck everything at it, look what cool things you can do Sandbox but none of it comes together to make a "good" game. At this point im still thinking of waiting for a few reviews before buying.

Re: PS5 Players Could Get Compensation as Sony Slammed for Monopolistic Practices in UK Court

PaperAlien

I was reading about this, the main point seems to be customers (in the UK) are paying vastly more for digital games than physical ones, and they are querying why that is? ie theres no physical product attached to a digital game so it should it cost less, and Sony are charging far more for digital. Fully support this case, there is absolutely no reason digital games should cost much more.

Re: Out Today: Marathon's PS5 Launch Puts Sony's $3B Live Service Gamble to the Test

PaperAlien

Not a big PVP / Extraction player, but the server slam really surprised me! Played a lot more than I expected to! One of those games that got better the more you played, understood etc Didnt buy it as I know I would drop off quickly once it got toooo sweaty, but if you like a semi-hardcore PVP shooter with a learning curve, and builds etc would totally recommend it.

Re: Sorry Haters, But Marathon Is Looking Real Good Right Now

PaperAlien

Does look pretty damn good now. I was on the side of this being a DOA, but now think its got a pretty good chance of being a decent sized success for them.

While its not a game i'll buy cos I dont like pvp extraction shooters, i'll def check out the server slam to see how it plays etc but deep down I'll always wish it was a single player experience cos the art style and music is incredible.

Re: BioWare's Biggest Failure ANTHEM Shuts Down Today

PaperAlien

Shame its getting life support unplugged, it should have been made playable offline for those with the disc at least. Was a very fun game to play tbh a shame Bioware just didnt know what to do with it or realize what they had / could have been.

Re: 'The Number of Live Service Games Is Not Important': PS5 Boss Gives Rare Insight into Strategy

Just shows you all these people care about is moneymoneymoney it's no longer good enough to make a great game that will sell millions, now they want it to have shows, films and all that BS. The chase for money always leads to the death of creativity and reputation.

Lets hope the door hits Hulst on the way out right after ole Pete Parsons from Bungie has been pushed through them.
