Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games

PaperAlien

I've already made peace with the fact the PS5 Pro will be the last console i'll ever own, so when that dies i'll no longer be a "gamer". I wont be interacting/viewing with PS6 / next gen articles cos i've no interest anymore and wont be there for it.

I'm not triggered or anything, just quite sad about it all, I like the choice, I like buying games I'm really interested in on physical media and buying digital when its an indie game or a deep discount on a game that's available on disc, I HATE that choice is being taken away from me.

Re: 'They Wait for This Storm to Pass': No Chance of Sony Walking Back Its Decision to Kill Discs, Warns Analyst

PaperAlien

Playstation isnt the "cool" PS4 company anymore the people like Shawn Layden are long gone, the personality free money men in suits are fully in control of Playstation so of course they wont reverse track, now more than ever all they care about is how to make as much money as possible in whatever they can.

A fully digital era wouldn't be so terrible if led to the reduced costs of digital games, after all theres no discs, no plastics, no shops etc and better protection for digital games, but there wont be a chance in hell any of that will ever happen.

I'll be around until my Ps5 Pro with disc drive dies and thats it for me, i've basically checked out of this terrible gen long ago anyway and I wont ever be back for the PS6.

Re: Reaction: PlayStation's Reputation Is at Rock Bottom - Where Do We Go from Here?

PaperAlien

Anyone thinking all of this is going to lead to an improved digital store, cheaper games etc are simply living in delulu-land.

What you're gonna get is higher priced first party games, even worse sale prices, those £56.22p sale prices on PS5 games will seem like the golden age and to top it all off, dynamic pricing for everyone with a delicious side serving of more AI rot integrated into the UI as a lovely side dish.

Re: Everyone's Clowning on Sony's Decision to Go All-Digital, and Rightly So

PaperAlien

I find it 100% cringe when companies jump on the latest meme or pop culture event, and Dominoes need to keep themselves quiet and start making pizzas that actually taste of something other than flavoured rubber.

But also Sony deserve absolutely everything they get and everything that's coming their way, a clown decision made by a company of shiny suited clowns.

Re: Valve's New Steam Machine Costs Almost Twice as Much as a PS5

PaperAlien

Not even over a grand by a bit. but a good few hundred. Insane pricing for something that is struggling to even match a base PS5 performance. Now the 1K+ price threshold has been broken, Sony and Xbox will be rubbing hands with greed for the next consoles.

The whole thing is gross, all thanks to the AI edgelords and peak American capitalism. YAY!

Re: Uproar as Halo PS5 Demands 2 PS Plus Subscriptions for Local Co-Op

PaperAlien

Ahhh the en-s***ification of gaming continues... Everyday the gaming world gets a little bit worse.. and usually Microsoft is behind it. Go Green Go! But whoever required this, either Sony or XBOX is absolutely insane. It's like every company is determined to make things absolutely terrible for everyone at all times.

Re: Xbox Will 'Try to Do More' Console Exclusives if the Health of Its Business Improves

PaperAlien

They should have probably just waited till next gen to return to exclusive games, it would save all this confusing double speak, outside of North America their console sales are in the gutter as they have been since last gen.

Also they fact the lean so hard with all these games on Game Pass Day 1, it kinda takes away the point from having exclusive games, cos aint that many people gonna buy it when its on GamePass. They should be making their exclusives exempt from GamePass for a while.

Re: Bonus PS Plus Extra Game Available Today

PaperAlien

From 6pm tonight and with this, this is probably the best time to ever play Destiny 2, you don't need to worry about missing out on things or catching up or grinding things out, and it's packed with stuff to do as well.

Im sad it's ending but at least it's being left in a great state to play for anyone who wants to.

Re: Stellar Blade: Blood Rain's Reveal Is Allegedly Riddled with Generative AI

PaperAlien

All the brain dead defending AI... You are part of the reason this world is going to rot. Everyone with a working brain cell should be against generative AI, not only does it empower maniacal bosses and CEOs to literally to get rid of paying humans, but it gives more power to the tech bros and billionaires who are already have too much power and influence, and thats not to even mention the impact on the environment it causes.

If you support AI then you also support all these data centres that are being built to power AI, twhich are decimating the local areas around them with noise pollution, light pollution not to mention the increase of energy bills and lack of water resources, and who even knows what its doing to local wild life populations.

We are heading to a completely dystopian future, so when people say AI hate is performative it riles me up, No, no its not.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest 2026?

PaperAlien

That was actually excellent! Aside from the rotted Among Us bit, the whole show flowed so well, minimum yapping and padding. just game after game after game, and speaking of..

Actually went with about 90% of them on my wishlist! Alien Isolation 2, RE Veronica, Gen ATLAS, The Saw Game, FF were my highlights, but what a show!

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2026?

PaperAlien

I gave it an OK, mainly most of it was things we knew about and seen already, Wolverine looks awesome, and Until Dawn 2 was a nice surprise, and finally some details about the Dune game, but that GOW game at the end was rotten! talking cubes, talking swords, cutesy animals showing you the way... no thank you.
