Warner Bros Live Service Suicide Squad

Warner Bros. has a new live service title in the oven, despite the fact that its previous attempt, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, ended up being one of the most talked-about bombs in modern gaming.

This is all according to a fresh job listing at Warner Bros. Montreal, which is searching for an experienced executive producer who can head the project "from concept to launch and beyond". There's specific mention of "post-launch live operations", and overseeing "live service strategy".

The listing also reveals that this new project is "based on one of the iconic IPs from the vast Warner Bros. and DC Comics catalog". Place your bets!

Naturally, this post has already attracted a lot of scrutiny. As mentioned, the whole Suicide Squad saga was a complete mess; the game lost Warner Bros. so much money that the publisher's entire gaming sector took the hit.

But look, you would hope that lessons have been learned. We obviously don't know enough about this project to jump to any immediate conclusions, although plenty of people will be questioning why the publisher is going down this road again — and so soon after Suicide Squad's failure.

Some companies just can't seem to let go of that live service dream...

So does this project have any ties to the previously rumoured single player Batman title? Maybe, but that one's supposed to be in the works at Rocksteady, not WB Montreal.

What do you make of this? Are you at all surprised to see Warner Bros. have another stab at the live service market? Wonder how it's going to turn out in the comments section below.
