Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds' PS5 Beta Is Over, But a Free Playable Demo Is Coming Soon

Played the beta a lot more than i expected over the weekend, was great fun tbh but too many big games out this month, I already have Borderlands 4 and Alien Rogue Incursion pre-ordered, so not a priority purchase for the foreseeable

Man i didn’t think id like the game(beta) but once i saw that the hoverboards were a permanent feature that your character can use instead of a kart + custom paint colors and cool customizations + gadget mods and different builds you can make = i was sold. the tracks are all engaging and fun for better or worse, but there wasn’t a single track i hated. As someone that hates Sonic’s attempts at being mario kart ripoffs and prefer riders immensely - i couldn’t put the beta down & like this game! i played it so much i almost made it to b rank online and can’t wait til it drops . even though it ain’t worth the price tag AT ALL, take my $70 anyway because it ain’t a fun kart racer out at the moment let alone a fun multiplayer for me. this entire gen ive been starving for new fun multiplayer games so im sold.

Game was fun enough. For some reason, YouTube seems to be losing its s*** about the game. Which is weird to me, since I'd still call it worse than Racing Transformed. And most Mario Karts, for that matter — but this is the year the Internet decided to hate Mario Kart, or something.

But still, fun enough. Better than expected, even. I'll be sure to buy it next year, on one of SEGA's end of honeymoon sales.

Glad folks are excited for this, but it does baffle me a little bit. I thought the beta was awful and not a patch on Transformed in any possible area. Heck, I'd sooner play that free Disney kart racer than this. Ah well, still nice to see a demo come out.

Copped a pc key for $50 and it was well worth it. Easily the best kart racer I've played in a long while but atp since no data carries over I think I'll wait for the full release now. But I'm counting down the days man, that was a really fun network test

@RoomWithaMoose If you consider Racing Transformed to be bad, all opinions you have of Crossworlds have absolutely zero value.

I thought it was dreadful and my excitement for the game has plummeted. Just flashy headache nonsense with no real sense of racing like Transformed (or Mario or CTR) had. Saved me a purchase anyway.

If you enjoyed Racing Transformed, the proper way to state that would be "not as good as" Racing Transformed. I read your comment correctly, you just didn't state what you meant correctly.

I said it my way instead of your way because Crossworlds was the subject, so saying 'it's worse than something' puts more emphasis on the 'it' than saying 'something is better than it.' Not that...it really matters at all either way.

My syntax was mirrored by the following sentence about Mario Kart (essentially I said, 'Crossworlds is worse than most Mario Karts, for that matter). So you not interpreting my comment as saying I think BOTH Transformed and most Mario Karts are bad says more about your presumption than my diction.

I enjoyed it but there was nothing here that was as good as Transformed. The core gameplay is fun and the tracks look nice, though the trick system is too basic. The roster is also a bit underwhelming, the wider Sonic cast just isnt that interesting and the (paid) dlc choices outside of Pac-Man are poor.

The fact I have Mario Kart World also lessens my need for such a game, at least at full price but I'll still probably pick this up in a sale

I loiked it. It wasn't as good as the original sonic racing game though.

Played the open network test, but not as much as the PS5 exclusive beta but I still enjoyed it, seems like they made the Monster Truck lasting less, which might be a good thing.
