Re: Hellblade 2's Xbox to PS5 Port Seems Like It Was a Breeze to Make

No, really? How come? Is it the engine that has been able to build for multiple platforms for over a decade now, or the fact that both consoles are basically glorified PCs in all parts except the OS (sans Xbox since it runs Windows).

Bruh. Also, the fact that Hellblades are incredibly simplistic and barely more than glorified tech demos using the built in stuff the engine comes with, helps a lot.

Re: Worried About AI in Game Development? It's Here, and It's Only Getting Worse

We have used generative and randomising tools for ages, this means nothing. You either utilise a tool in a good way or not, wether the game is good, feels good to play and fulfilling is the only metric that matters. I don't care if accidental details were generated with AI as long as they are either curated or present a good enough environment. Shoddy, hastily thrown together or quickly done stuff or even placeholders were in games from the early days, and nobody cares if the overall product is good, if there is direction.

It literally adds 0 value if ten underpaid and overworked students worked on a bunch of miniscule props and textures for months. If you can do the same with a generative tool, it gives you more time and budget to focus on stuff that matters.

Ofc people will try to sell trash with the lowest effort invested, and that's becoming easier by the day, but this has always been the case anyway.

Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70

The game looks like an indie title with a bit more budget than usual, gameplay is dime a dozen, the art style makes it really hard to understand what you are looking at from a glance, and the genre is too niche / the game is to late to the party.

And on top of that there is an entry fee and heavy monetisation.

Gg Bungie.
