It doesn't work like that. Nintendo made Switch a hybrid for that purpose and it's a garbage system because of it. So no, anything that turns PS4 into garbage like Switch, no, I wouldn't want it.

Having PS4 and 2DS is infinitely better than a compromised hybrid like Switch. With PS4 and 2DS, you get the best of both worlds, a great home console and a great handheld, without compromises, and the massive game catalogs of both of those devices.

This game is so reminiscent of the Net Yaroze era.

But like most Net Yaroze games, it's likewise really short on content. Fun for a 15 minute break maybe but not a game to constantly return to like Pac-Man 256.

@GraveLordXD Physical games aren't downloaded, they are installed from the disc. And what do you know, this reduces the wear and breakage of the optical drive. That's both of your complaints addressed by what the PS4 already does!

Wow. So except for the games, the features, the controllers, the ease of use, the services like PS Plus... Switch is exactly like PS4! (And the even more ridiculous claim, of being "better".)

These systems are designed differently on a very fundamental level. They operate differently. As you admit, the PS4's game selection vastly outnumbers that of Nintendo's joke system. They can be used to play games, but that's about where the similarities end. PS4 and that garbage tablet are completely different systems, and all to PS4's benefit. No, I certainly wouldn't want for the PS4 to be like Nintendo's sorry excuse for a system.

Also, completely agreed. PS4 is a great system and the game selection is incredible. It's great value for money, unlike Switch.

@KirbyTheVampire Here's the thing about PS4: it's an excellent console. No corners cut, no dumb design decisions like Switch. Power doesn't have anything to do with it, PS4 is simply the best system currently, with the best game selection and the best features. Switch can't match either.

@stevejcrow Look at the whole top 20. PS4 has the most games after 2DS and 3DS.

PS4 back catalog doing the work, like Ys 8 which was released over a month ago. Ys is considered a niche series, but the continued sales of Ys 8 show there is demand for these types of games on PS4.

@PorllM Back in the early days of PS4, Sony talked a lot about how they wanted Wii owners on the PS4. It seems they have succeeded to some end.

Ys 8 doing pretty well. Ys is a niche series, but Ys 8 obviously has some positive word of mouth that keeps it hanging in the charts.

Telltale GoT is supposed to be pretty bad, but at least there's a lot of better stuff available.

They shouldn't have fiddled with those Switch and Xbone stretch goals. Keep it PS4 only, and focus on those stretch goals, and this could have had a better chance.

@DESS-M-8 Yeeaah... you do realize that when Switch is selling less than PS4, it has no chance whatsoever to catch up to PS4's 60 million install base, right? Switch was just launched, and PS4 is already putting more distance between itself and Nintendo's latest brain fart.

On the Nintendo side, Fire Emblem Echoes has a big debut for a Japanese RPG in the monthly NPD list.

Nintendo's E3 was hit and miss. 2DS and 3DS were great, with games like Metroid: Samus Returns (and coming so soon in September!)

But the Switch side... yeugh. When their "biggest" Switch announcement was a title card from a game that will probably be out in late 2019 at the earliest, you know Switch is having a lot of trouble.

Online only? That's not multiplayer, it's online play.

What a joke. PSVR is the reason Sony's presentation wasn't as good as it could have been.

Sony is suffering from the PSVR push. You see those PSVR games? That's presentation time away from more interesting games, and that's development time away from more interesting games. So PSVR brings the Sony showing down, and Sony looks worse because of it.

Shouldn't have said it. Sony thought they only had to show up, and that's what they did.

With how bad Microsoft was and the non-event that Nintendo is, Sony still did relatively well, but Ubisoft really showed how it's done.

So that's an attach rate of 7,9 for PS4, and an attach rate of 9,0 for Wii. The Wii figure will still rise slightly with new games like Just Dance 2018, but the PS4 figure will grow faster as PS4 is still a relatively new console, so it will in all likelyhood get closer to Wii's attach rate and also total game sales.

Great conference. Just Dance 2017 was such an improvement over JD2016, I'll be there day one for Just Dance 2018.

The Crew 2, Skull & Bones and BG&E2 also looked really good.

Microsoft and Nintendo are already dead. Sony only has to show up and they win.

@whywai88 To be really honest, most of aren't using or even intending to buy the Switch at all!

@get2sammyb You have a weird concept of reinforcement. The 2DS/3DS family is the best-selling platform of current gen with 66 million sold at last count, and still counting. New 2DS XL will push those figures even higher, and there's a veritable cornucopia of games still coming out for 2DS/3DS.

Just check the Japanese charts, where the majority of games sold are for 2DS/3DS. This is a platform that sells tens of millions of games worldwide, and the sales were up last year!
