@KirbyTheVampire It's still not about the power. It's about the games, the features and the user experience. Having a standalone console with great games and interface is always better than having a jack of all trades hybrid that does none of it well.
@KirbyTheVampire "So if you could press a button and have the PS4 be playable on your TV and on the go, you wouldn't do it?"
It doesn't work like that. Nintendo made Switch a hybrid for that purpose and it's a garbage system because of it. So no, anything that turns PS4 into garbage like Switch, no, I wouldn't want it.
Having PS4 and 2DS is infinitely better than a compromised hybrid like Switch. With PS4 and 2DS, you get the best of both worlds, a great home console and a great handheld, without compromises, and the massive game catalogs of both of those devices.
This game is so reminiscent of the Net Yaroze era.
But like most Net Yaroze games, it's likewise really short on content. Fun for a 15 minute break maybe but not a game to constantly return to like Pac-Man 256.
@GraveLordXD Physical games aren't downloaded, they are installed from the disc. And what do you know, this reduces the wear and breakage of the optical drive. That's both of your complaints addressed by what the PS4 already does!
@KirbyTheVampire "So basically, it's a PS4, except better"
Wow. So except for the games, the features, the controllers, the ease of use, the services like PS Plus... Switch is exactly like PS4! (And the even more ridiculous claim, of being "better".)
These systems are designed differently on a very fundamental level. They operate differently. As you admit, the PS4's game selection vastly outnumbers that of Nintendo's joke system. They can be used to play games, but that's about where the similarities end. PS4 and that garbage tablet are completely different systems, and all to PS4's benefit. No, I certainly wouldn't want for the PS4 to be like Nintendo's sorry excuse for a system.
@KirbyTheVampire Here's the thing about PS4: it's an excellent console. No corners cut, no dumb design decisions like Switch. Power doesn't have anything to do with it, PS4 is simply the best system currently, with the best game selection and the best features. Switch can't match either.
@stevejcrow Look at the whole top 20. PS4 has the most games after 2DS and 3DS.
PS4 back catalog doing the work, like Ys 8 which was released over a month ago. Ys is considered a niche series, but the continued sales of Ys 8 show there is demand for these types of games on PS4.
Take PSVR off the main conference and give it its own thing. Make it viewable with the PSVR headsets or whatever. Just don't make the rest of us watch it.
They shouldn't have fiddled with those Switch and Xbone stretch goals. Keep it PS4 only, and focus on those stretch goals, and this could have had a better chance.
@DESS-M-8 Yeeaah... you do realize that when Switch is selling less than PS4, it has no chance whatsoever to catch up to PS4's 60 million install base, right? Switch was just launched, and PS4 is already putting more distance between itself and Nintendo's latest brain fart.
Nintendo's E3 was hit and miss. 2DS and 3DS were great, with games like Metroid: Samus Returns (and coming so soon in September!)
But the Switch side... yeugh. When their "biggest" Switch announcement was a title card from a game that will probably be out in late 2019 at the earliest, you know Switch is having a lot of trouble.
Sony is suffering from the PSVR push. You see those PSVR games? That's presentation time away from more interesting games, and that's development time away from more interesting games. So PSVR brings the Sony showing down, and Sony looks worse because of it.
So that's an attach rate of 7,9 for PS4, and an attach rate of 9,0 for Wii. The Wii figure will still rise slightly with new games like Just Dance 2018, but the PS4 figure will grow faster as PS4 is still a relatively new console, so it will in all likelyhood get closer to Wii's attach rate and also total game sales.
@get2sammyb You have a weird concept of reinforcement. The 2DS/3DS family is the best-selling platform of current gen with 66 million sold at last count, and still counting. New 2DS XL will push those figures even higher, and there's a veritable cornucopia of games still coming out for 2DS/3DS.
Just check the Japanese charts, where the majority of games sold are for 2DS/3DS. This is a platform that sells tens of millions of games worldwide, and the sales were up last year!

@GamerDad66 You can disable the email notifications from the settings.
Also, completely agreed. PS4 is a great system and the game selection is incredible. It's great value for money, unlike Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 175
Speaking of Crash Bash, wouldn't it be awesome to get a CTR & Crash Bash Remastered double pack?
Re: Sony Seemingly Removes Easy Platinum Trophy Game
@doctommaso Yeah. These digital storefronts need curation, even more so when there are more games.
Re: Sony Seemingly Removes Easy Platinum Trophy Game
@whywai88 Here in superior PS4 land, we call it "That's why we don't play PC games."
Re: How Can You Tell Sony's Making Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle?
Are we sure The Rock doesn't have like 20 clones running around?
@PorllM Back in the early days of PS4, Sony talked a lot about how they wanted Wii owners on the PS4. It seems they have succeeded to some end.
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: PS4 Back on Top with Several New Releases
Ys 8 doing pretty well. Ys is a niche series, but Ys 8 obviously has some positive word of mouth that keeps it hanging in the charts.
Re: July 2017 PlayStation Plus Games Announced
Telltale GoT is supposed to be pretty bad, but at least there's a lot of better stuff available.
Re: Sony's Improved the PS4's TV Section and Everyone Hates It
Horrible "upgrade". WTF was Sony thinking?
Re: Store Update: 27th June 2017 (Europe)
@kyleforrester87 I need to look at some more videos. Because a lot of people have been saying that and it would indeed be a huge blunder.
Re: Store Update: 27th June 2017 (Europe)
@Rudy_Manchego Give them a controller with barely any charge left.
Re: Store Update: 27th June 2017 (Europe)
Isn't the new Micro Machines thingy supposed to be completely different from the classics?
Re: UK Sales Charts: Gran Theft Auto V Steals Back Top Spot
Next week something else will Crash the top list.
Re: Opinion: Has Sony Really Fallen Out of Love with Indie Games?
PS4 is the indie console. Anyone saying otherwise is fooling themselves.

What's the Valkyria Chronicles DLC?

@IBO Uh... what Switch hype? It's already dead.
Re: May 2017 NPD: Nintendo Switch Stock Shortages Open the Door for PS4
Injustice 2 doing really well, and not surprised.
On the Nintendo side, Fire Emblem Echoes has a big debut for a Japanese RPG in the monthly NPD list.

Re: E3 2017: Ni no Kuni II Has Multiplayer, Director Confirms
Online only? That's not multiplayer, it's online play.
Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS4 Game at E3 2017?
Just Dance 2018, no question. Day one.
Re: E3 2017: Sony Welcomes the Arrival of Xbox One X
Sony must have liked the Microsoft conference.
Or been laughing themselves silly.
Re: Soapbox: Publishers Can't Bloody Win When It Comes to E3
@get2sammyb PSVR being a winner? Yeah, that's a negative.
Re: Soapbox: Publishers Can't Bloody Win When It Comes to E3
Sure they can. Ubisoft did great, and that's the general consensus.
Re: PS4 Continues to Sell Like a Runaway Freight Train
@bbq_boy Uh no. Wii had a lot of quality games, but also some stinkers. PS4 has a lot of quality games, but also some stinkers.
Metacritic is worthless. Play the games, not the scores.
Re: Reaction: PlayStation VR Is a Winner at E3 2017
What a joke. PSVR is the reason Sony's presentation wasn't as good as it could have been.
Re: Reaction: Sony Fails to Score an E3 Hattrick, But Still Brings the Best Games
Sony is suffering from the PSVR push. You see those PSVR games? That's presentation time away from more interesting games, and that's development time away from more interesting games. So PSVR brings the Sony showing down, and Sony looks worse because of it.
Re: Talking Point: Did Sony PlayStation's E3 2017 Press Conference Crush the Competition?
Shouldn't have said it. Sony thought they only had to show up, and that's what they did.
With how bad Microsoft was and the non-event that Nintendo is, Sony still did relatively well, but Ubisoft really showed how it's done.
Re: PS4 Continues to Sell Like a Runaway Freight Train
It's also notable that those are Wii-like game sale figures, only 3½ years in. To date, Wii has sold over 900 million games, with slightly over 100 million consoles: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/hard_soft/index.html
Re: Talking Point: Did Ubisoft's E3 2017 Press Conference Bedazzle You?
Great conference. Just Dance 2017 was such an improvement over JD2016, I'll be there day one for Just Dance 2018.
The Crew 2, Skull & Bones and BG&E2 also looked really good.
Re: Talking Point: What Does Sony Have to Do in Order to 'Win' E3 2017?
Microsoft and Nintendo are already dead. Sony only has to show up and they win.
...unless they unveil a PS4 Pro 2 for $599.
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Tekken 7 Juggles Its Way to Number 1

Not surprised. The PS4 install base + the most interesting Tekken installment in years = success.
Re: Sony Readying Ratchet and Crash Bandicoot PS4 Slim Bundle
Now that's a great bundle. Instant game collection!
Re: Feature: The Promising PS4 Games of June 2017
That's a great lineup, and with E3 and new announcements to top it off.
Re: Ubisoft Made a Funny with This E3 2017 Teaser Trailer
Next Just Dance! Awesome!
Just Dance 2017 was a big step up from JD2016, so hopefully the new one will be great too.
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Ys VIII Dashes Straight to Number 1 as PS4 Stays Quiet
@themcnoisy You do know that you've been able to play portable Mario Kart since the Gameboy Advance, right?
I've played Mario Kart 8 enough on Wii U, if I want it portable I'll play MK7 to get a different track selection.
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Ys VIII Dashes Straight to Number 1 as PS4 Stays Quiet
Promising start for Ys 8. Will the Ys series find a new home on PS4?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 170
Been playing some Fire Emblem and Just Dance 2017 so far.
Re: A New PlayStation Vita? The Ridiculously Stupid E3 Rumours Have Begun
