Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy PS4 PlayStation 4 1

July has arrived, meaning that more people are thinking about vacation than video games right now. It’s a great time to catch up on your backlog or sink your teeth into something big and juicy – but what’s holding your attention? Let’s work through this week’s WAYP, shall we?

I’m dying over and over again in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, a nostalgic collection which I’m thoroughly N. Joying. I also had an urge to play a Harry Potter game following the franchise’s recent milestone anniversary, so I started up the LEGO version on Vita. There’s some nice design, but I can only play it in short bursts.

This weekend, I'll be putting as many hours as I can into Elite Dangerous ahead of writing our review. I'm certainly looking forward to finding out all the new and interesting ways I'll come close to blowing up my ship – my encounter with a white dwarf star on my recent live stream is a very good example. I'll also be putting my regulation time into SMITE as I continue to work towards mastering every guardian character.

Due to the recent release of Stormblood (and the awesome documentary which Danny O'Dwyer put out recently). I've been catching up in the story of Final Fantasy XIV. I feel incredibly lucky that I'm able to experience what will be considered one of the best MMOs in recent years. As Eorzea's world, music, and most importantly community, provide a shining beacon of escapism for any player.

I’m taking a walk down memory lane this weekend with a nostalgia-inducing combo of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and the WipEout Omega Collection – two of my favourite series from childhood. Bring it on!

This weekend I'll be basking in nostalgic glory and playing Crash Bandicoot all weekend. It's strange that I still remember all of the levels by heart after all these years. My housemates, to my horror, have never played any of the games so I'm also looking forward to introducing them to one of my favourite series!

It'll mainly be Battlefield 4 with some friends for me this weekend as I revisit the old shooter thanks to it being £4 in the Playstation Store sale. I'll also intersperse with a few games of FIFA 17 and Rocket League if I have the time.

I need to play a little more Micro Machines World Series before I put pen to paper for review, so that's my primary gaming this weekend. Aside from that, I'm hoping to finally get back to Horizon: Zero Dawn and progress the main quest. Miraculously, I've not seen a single spoiler yet, so I'm really looking forward to finding out what's going on.

So with temperatures nearing 100 here, it's the perfect excuse to stay indoors. So I will be doing that with Diablo III, Modern Warfare Remastered, and The Crew this weekend.
