@Netret0120 Mahjong is a pain to learn and I would be lying if I said I was any good at it, but I do seem to enjoy playing it at this point. Hard part was trying to get it through my skull what hands still win even after revealing some of your tiles. I will freely admit to needing a guide for Shogi.
I am close to platinum on 0, but Baseball is messing me up, specifically the one item on the completion list to win 5 million yen in one sitting.
Kiwami 2 was the first game in the series I got Platinum. Only other games from RGG which I have done that with so far is Gaiden and Lost Judgment. Good to see it finally playing in 60fps. Might replay it solely for the cabaret management game.
Man, this makes me sad; Rikiya, Nakahara and Hamazaki look completely different and with new voive actors. I get possible difficulties in getting the original VAs, but the new voices and looks are throwing me off hard.
I should preface by saying this is the only Metal Gear I have played.
I quite enjoyed it; stealth isn't really my thing, but given how open ended the missions were, there was freedom to how you went about your missions. I quite liked the characters as well and I enjoyed playing back the cassettes in between missions, but I also feel that a lot of the tapes should have been full blown cutscenes and perhaps were intended to be, but never got around to being finished. I know about the cut "Chapter 3" but even if it were included, I don't think it would have tied off the story neatly enough for me. I know people weren't keen on it, but I also liked the "twist" ending. I do feel it would have been more impactful if they got David Hayter to voice the last scene.
I still haven't played P3R yet because no matter how good the new talent is, it always feels off to me. If the cast is being replaced for potential P4R, then I will probably be similarly disinterested.
Price is slighly higher than I was hoping, but given the upgrade and the fact that I want to show Ninja Gaiden has an audience, I am currently watching it download as I speak. Thrilled to play this again and assuming it comes physical (not through limited release companies), I will double dip.
I've said this before, but I don't think any game is worth more than £60 to me. I typically don't buy games at launch anymore, and if I do, it is Nintendo, or it £50 or less. I don't have interest in GTA anyway but if other Devs and Publishers try it, they are going to be sorely disappointed.
I feel my comment from last week's article about why Sony should keep pushing for Live Service aged like fine wine. The amount of money wasted is absurd.
Don't see why Sony should pursue GAAS because of one live service success, especially given the failue of Concorde, but hey, could be funny to watch them waste their money.
Saw this during the presentation, then they immediately talk about all the ways they are enhancing graphics with the Pro. Feels like no lessons were learned here.
That price point for diminishing returns, when it still doesn't really feel like the base PS5 has been used efficiently... Plus raising the price of the dualsense.
Recently brought a bundle with the intention of playing through them. I played through Precursor Legacy 100%, fantastic game. On Jak II, and not enjoying as much. Hoping I find my motivation to continue.
To be fair, it could just be less people playing for Plus rather than people upgrading plans but eh. If Sony are convinced that the additional offerings are worth money, they could make online multiplayer free again... but they won't.
Not sure how only requiring internet for installation makes it any better; the whole draw of having a physical copy is knowing it will work down the line when it is no longer possible to connect to a server.
Granted, I am very unlikely to play this anyway; never got into the series. But it does irk me how we collectively keep letting practices like this become common place. People seem to think gaming is disposable; which is exactly what it will become.
@get2sammyb Or even better; stop trying to get more people on the PSN ecosystem and let them play the games. People keep saying making a "free" account is a nothing burger, but then lose their minds when it turns out it is not needed.
I like how many commenters who were calling PC gamers cry babies for pushing back against having to create and link a PSN account are now getting as upset because it was rolled back. If the PSN requirement really was that meaningless then why would you get this upset at Sony for backing down?
Another slow start doesn't exactly thrill me. I only really got around to plowing through Like a Dragon a few months ago despite owning the game since it's launch because the game just took forever to get going for me. The change in gameplay didn't help either.
As much as I want to know what will happen to Kiryu, I think I'll wait for this one until cheaper.
@DennisReynolds To add on to that. I believe news outlets, including PushSquare, reported on the Capcom Leak with a timetable of games releases, and that hack also contained employee information. Funny how there was no qualms with that despite being just as morally questionable. I am not sure what makes Insomniac so special.
That said, I hope the devs are supported here. They didn't deserve this.
Yeah, you need a lot longer than 95 seconds to fully understand just who Kiryu is. I would still encourage people who started with 7 to play through 0-6, even if the combat is different from the turn-based they are used to.
I play the games in Japanese anyway. Hearing English coming from these characters doesn't sound right after having played the entire series in Japanese as the only option.
That said, I will probably wait for a sale for this. I still haven't finished 7 (not gelling with the combat), so probably wouldn't be getting 8 at launch anyway, and there is no physical version (in the West without importing), so it is low down on my priority list, even if I am very interested in the story.
As long as the whole game is on the discs, patched, and with all DLC, this is a good thing. I can only hope companies continue to support physical... looking at you SEGA, you should be putting Gaiden on a disc!
This has been enlightening. It's no wonder people are happy with games becoming digital only when you have people who are even more happy for whole aspects of games, whether voice acting, art, or even coding to be handled by AI. There is no respect for any original creative passion.
I do hope that everything goes well for the voice actors and they need not proceed with a strike, but in this world, I fully expect it to happen sooner rather than later.
I must confess, as someone who has never subscribed to PS+, this has been very interesting to see the reactions to this. I feel like these price hikes were always inevitable, and to think if online wasn't part of the equation, perhaps the situation would be very different.
I certainly hope people who genuinely do not like the price hike actually follow through with letting subscriptions lapse. It never should have got to this point in the first place with people paying an additional fee to play online.
If it's happening, I would certainly be interested. Would probably be the first thing from PS Productions that I would watch. A remake of the second game would be good as the PS4 remake was my first experience with MediEvil.
@Cashews Hope you have fun when you get to it. It is a strange game, but one that I would definitely love a sequel to. The DLC practices were very scummy. I heard that it was spun as the game not performing very well so they wanted to give a definitive ending, but this is also the same company that had the whole Disc Locked Content debacle with Street Fighter X Tekken, so...
@Cashews I am aware. I was being overly snarky in my comment just now. =)
My comment was more in response to the idea that Sony only raised the price of the PS5 from £450 to £480 to be in line with inflation. I suppose we could argue that perhaps the cost of components has indeed gone down hence the sudden firesale of PS5s but given the rumours of the new SKU, I am doubtful that is the full explanation.

I guess Sony really need that PC money if they are willing to go back on this though perhaps the damage is already done.
Congrats to PC community however. They know what they are about.

Biggest scam is people being told they don't need to own the content they are consuming.

Re: Game of the Year: John's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2023
Finished LaD Gaiden last night. Still playing to 100%, but that ending ruined me. Kiryu deserves the world. Probably will be my GOTY at this rate.
Re: PlayStation Wrap-Up 2023 Available Now, Check Out Your Gaming Stats
5. Lost Judgment - 82 Hrs
4. Hades - 102 Hrs
3. Yakuza: Like a Dragon - 108 Hrs
2. Two Point Campus - 116 Hrs
1. Bloody Skyrim - 139 Hrs
All together: 547 Hrs.
Compared to total time across all games of 621 Hrs.
To my credit, at least 4 of the top 5 were games I hadn't played through before. Guess I am a slow burn.
Re: SEGA Interested In Adapting Persona, Like a Dragon into Movies

It's amazing what a price cut can do. I am still baffled Sony even raised the prices in the first place.
