Persona 4 Revival Voice Cast

Many a Japanese RPG fan would argue that Persona 4, or more specifically, Persona 4 Golden, has one of the most iconic English dubs in the genre.

It features performances that have helped define the characters themselves. Everyone who's played Golden in English knows Troy Baker's Kanji Tatsumi, Yuri Lowenthal's Yosuke Hanamura, Erin Fitzgerald's Chie Satonaka, Laura Bailey's Rise Kujikawa, and Sam Riegel's incredibly excited Teddie.

But none of these actors have been recalled for Persona 4 Revival. The remake has opted for an entirely new voice cast, much to the dismay of hardcore fans who still hold the original dub in such high regard.

The twist here is that the game's Japanese dub will remain unchanged. From what I gather, most — if not all — of the Japanese actors are returning for Revival.

To be clear, this isn't just a case of copy and pasting Golden's voice lines into the remake. Revival, much like Persona 3 Reload, features new dialogue scenes alongside old social link conversations that are now fully voiced.

In any case, Atlus has confirmed several members of the new English voice cast:

  • Protagonist - Nazeeh Tarsha
  • Yosuke Hanamura - Paul Castro Jr.
  • Chie Satonaka - Anne Yatco
  • Yukiko Amagi - Brianna Knickerbocker
  • Marie - Ari Thrash

Now, obviously, we haven't heard a whole lot of this totally new dub just yet — only snippets from the reveal trailer and its surrounding media.

I certainly can't see it being low quality or anything like that, but I do get the complaints that are currently circling around social media and Persona-related forums.

This does feel a bit like Atlus is messing with borderline perfection. There are even reports going around that members of the original cast were fully prepared to reprise their roles in Revival — but a lot of this stuff is based around fairly vague social media posts and the like.
