Did exactly the same thing. First play through I only made it to the second biome - I had so many games on the go at the time so I just didn’t go back (don’t get me wrong I liked the game). This time around I love the game and have just hit the fourth biome. Loved the boss at the end of the third biome with that music playing.

Thanks for the reply. Somehow managed to put up with the load times on P1. However, I’ll just download both to the PS5 (never got round to finishing P1 even though I enjoyed it loads).Going through a CRPG binge playing the likes of Wasteland 2 and 3 and going through Divinity 2 again.

I’m not a huge fan of rogue lites but the more I read of this game the more it appeals to me (plus I’ve played a number of other games by Housemarque and really enjoyed them). I do like a challenging game and based on your response I shall be picking it up.

If I recall correctly you’ve played Sekiro before. I appreciate they’re very different games but how similar/different are they in terms of difficulty?

This is why I love my backlog - makes waiting for a price drop (even if it’s a long time coming) much more tolerable.

Been on a lengthy Battlefield 1 binge of late (plays very nice on a ps5) but going to break that up this weekend with a run on resi 7 in VR.

Try as I might still haven’t got my hands on one. Oh well I’ve got so much to play it really is a non-issue.

An interesting difference (I should have mentioned) between the two is in the original on a couple of occasions you’re faced with various scenarios where time stands still and you have to make a split second decision what action to take.
That feature was taken out of the remake. To my memory there is also a boss in the original that’s not in the remake. Anyway I hope that helps.

I wouldn’t say one is necessarily better than the other, but even though they’re the same game they offer quite different experiences. They’re definitely both worth playing just to see different locations as an example (plus both can be finished in quick time so it won’t take long to see what they offer).

Based on past experience I recommend game++. Worst part of getting the platinum.

Despite there being no top 10 love for Doom Eternal it was my personal highlight of the year. Otherwise good list.

Agreed - Sekiro is amazing. I finally picked up the platinum yesterday after blasting through it for the past two months. For me it had the best combat of all Froms’ games.

Nice one. Yeah the combat is superb on Sekiro, although I prefer the worlds of Dark Souls / Bloodborne (I just find them more interesting in terms of lore and exploration). Sounds like your blasting through at the moment - once you kill the next boss the game really opens up for you. I’m trying to finish my second play through for the Shura ending but the final boss doesn’t want to play fair and keeps kicking my ass.

Good to hear that you’re sticking with it - it’s always good to have a little break and come back to it. I’ve really had to pick up my game on Sekiro with some of the tougher bosses but once you beat them it’s a great feeling.

Yeah it’s really good - I’d definitely prefer the combat to DS. I’d say it’s just as vague (if that’s the best word) in terms of telling what you need to do/where to go, but for me that’s where the satisfaction comes once you’ve figured out what to do. I was going through I patch where I couldn’t get past a certain boss and thought I’d exhausted all other routes to explore, but eventually found an unexplored path and since then the game has opened up massively. That’s why I say just stick with it.

Seriously persist and stick with it. When you break that wall the feeling of satisfaction is immense. I’ve been banging my head against Seikiro and have just found my stride.

Ooh you dropped the fanboy card - well done you. I’m very receptive of others opinions and at no point did I claim this was ‘god tier’ as you put it. I enjoyed the game very much but it doesn’t rank in my all time greats (clearly you assumed that this was my dream game - it’s not). I’m just interested as to how come to the conclusion that the general public’s’ opinion is more valid than that of the critics.
