Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - New Year Edition

First time playing Dark Souls 3, wish me luck!

Im looking at getting through some of the backlog in preparation for Horizon Forbidden West. Currently on Guardians of the Galaxy, and will then look at either the Iki island expansion for Ghost of Tsushima, or Deathloop next

Nothing because I tried playing Outriders and the game crashes within 1 minute of booting the game every single time. At first I thought it was just the game but then I tried No Man's Sky and it still happens. If I play offline games the ps5 works just fine. So basically I've spent the last day and a half trying to fix my broken ps5 which is pretty much bricked for any game that uses online play, fun! I'm going to have to send it back for repair, but I can't even do that because sony customer support doesn't come back till Monday. Guess I can get back into my addiction of League of Legends on pc while I wait.

been playing inFamous: Second Son all day, starting the new year off by cleaning up my backlog.

Started Resi 7 last night just for something a bit different. Quite enjoyed the first bit so will probably carry on. It’s been many a year since I played an RE game so hopefully I haven’t missed any important plot points.

Ratchet & Clank, Gardeners of the Galaxy, Death's Door.

Mostly Hades with the occasional bit of Ys:Memory of Celceta to mix it up.

Finishing Lost Judgment, after that it's probably Far Cry 6 which I got for cheap or another NG+ run of Horizon Zero Dawn to set up the mood for February. Happy New Year everyone.

God of war 3 on ps now. I’m in the process of playing through all of them in preparation for Ragnarok. I beat the ps2 and psp games on this play through and have gow3, ascension, and gow2018 left.
I’m also playing my new occulus quest 2. Couldn’t find a psvr or the camera adapter so I just went for it with the occulus for Christmas. Soooo cool and can’t recommend it enough.

Still waiting on GAME to dispatch my PS5 so for this weekend I think I'll get the Vita out and play Steins Gate.

Nothing for me this weekend. I have Covid for the second time. I also got it last Boxing Day (2020), which is kinda weird. Either way, I’m far too unwell to play any games for a while. Just typing this message has taken me nearly 10mins. Happy new year everyone.

Trying to finish up as many games as I can before the onslaught of 2022 games release. I’m on the final chapter of Eastward on switch so hopefully I can hit the nail on the head with that one today. New Pokemon Snap may be a problem as I keep replaying the same missions trying to do absolutely everything before moving on, haven’t left the first island yet.
Someone got me Alan wake for Xmas, played the first chapter and I’m enjoying it so far. But I keep thinking that’s how all remedy games begin for me then I get bored and don’t finish them. Hopefully this one bucks the trend.
Also got pikmin 3 on sale and I haven’t even started that. But I’d say these 4 games are my main gaming goals right now.

I started a second playthrough of The Last of Us Part II early in the week and am currently in Seattle, experiencing Day One. A nice cheerful little game to see in the New Year.

I’ve gone back (way back) to a classic; Skyrim, all polished up for PS5. So much new content already. This is one of the few games I can lose hours on without noticing the time pass. “What do you mean it’s 2:30am?!”

@PenguinL This was on my list as one to try. Interesting you found it to be lacking. I was surprised when I looked into it that Rockstar haven’t officially given it the PS5 polish. They really seem to ignore anything that isn’t an online money printing machine these days. It’s a shame. Feels like they’ve lost their way.

Saints Row the Third got my attention on boxing Day, and although I'm also 20 hours in to Watch Dogs Legion, Saints Row is a blast, so I'll be parking my tank on a crossroads blowing up wave after wave of gangs and cops, occasionally doing a story mission.

@PenguinL Just tested and looks the same to me on both consoles. I have HDR off though.

Edit: Seems the same with HDR on but my friend says it is looking blurrier haha.

Disco Elysium - Absolutely brilliant.
GTA Online - I've been catching up on the last few updates I've missed. The new Dre content is ace.
Control - I love this game. If this does indeed get made into a film, I reckon it could be very decent.
AC Valhalla - Strewth! I think I'm near the end.

Reliving my youth with THPS 1+2 , paid £10 on epic and it's amazing. I'm 11 again.

Replaying Tomb Raider (2013) & The Evil Within on PS4, and playing Spider-Man Remastered on PS5, once I'm done with these games, I'm gonna finally play Spider-Man Miles Morales on PS5.
(I played Miles Morales on PS4 but it had a few game-breaking glitches concerning the Spidey Challenges & Base Takedowns that prevented me from fully completing the game).

Yakuza Kiwami 1, with it I'm clearing up any interesting side content that I missed. Also close to getting 100% with Sly 3.

And I've recently started with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker. It's good so far, though I prefer the story beats from the first game.

Finished and platinumed GOTG yesterday. Very fun game with great production values but the gameplay is a bit shallow- well worth a play through though
Carrying on with Halo Infinite which is superb, the best Halo has been in awhile, single and multiplayer and one of my games of the year
Also still trying and failing to speed run my actual game of the year - Deathloop

Continuing my 2nd playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn in preparation for Forbidden West's release. Having a blast with it as expected.

Ringing in the new year with Demon’s Souls. I’m scared of it, to be honest. Whether I end up frustrated by its difficulty or addicted to the game play and become one of those Souls fanatics — either way I’m terrified of the outcome.

Finally got my Hard to the Core trophy on Dead Space 2 so just cleaning up other trophies with the awesome hand cannon. Makes the Zealot difficulty a breeze! Happy New Year all also.

Happy new year all, I'm starting off the year well and have finally secured a PS5 which will be delivered hopefully before my birthday next month 😂😂😂. Apart from that I am continuing to play Rage 2 and eyeing up heading back to Yakuza like a dragon.

On PS5 I've just finished the HZD frozen wild DLC so now I'm fully ready for forbidden West and I can't wait, so now up be moving onto DDLC plus and Shin megami tensei 3 HD

On switch I will carry on with the wild at heart and pokemon brilliant diamond

And on series S I will try and complete aliens fireteam and then I think it's time to pack it away for a couple months as there's nothing really interesting me on gamepass right now

Helping the wee man with a Miles Morales playthrough on the PS4

For me, messing about with Cyberpunk to see what it's like, will get into it properly once the drop the PS5 patch. As well I'll be continuing my P5R run through ahead of Striker on Plus this month. Bit of Asteroids Recharged thrown in as well, cracking pickup for us to play as a family taking shots about. And not too far removed from the original, whilst still feeling like a decent experience on current gen.

I deleted my Returnal save and started again. I'm finding it a lot easier. Im on biome 5 with only 12 deaths, so im thinking about a melee only run or two...💪

Finished Astro's Playroom and have started Demon's Souls. Loving the PS5 so far

Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Finally returning to this after a lengthy break.

Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Daily challenges and puzzle packs as usual.

Tiki Towers (Windows Phone) - Still plugging away at this as well.

I am playing Ruined King, and I am enjoying the heck out of it. Airship Syndicate knocked it out of the park with Battlechasers, and did the same here. The art style, story, and wonderful combat system are all excellent.

If you like turn based games at all, I strongly urge checking out this and Battlechasers. Just top notch games.

But i had a lot of backlog of games.but when i heard about the remastered version its a no brainer . on my samsung 4k hdr tv it looks even more amazing.you should play the first one.i got cheap on ebay brand new for 17$.and i do have ni no kuni 2 also.both amazing graphics also.2 ni no kuni games playa.but once again play ni no kuni wrath of the white witch remastered first.word up son

On Chapter 14 of Yakuza: LAD, fun game! Want to get back to AC Origins next. Tales of Arise and AC: Valhalla still new in the boxes, something dig into over the next few weeks. And the Yuffie DLC at some point.

Took a break from Skyrim to check out Kena and COD Vanguard (campaign). I'm a sucker for WW2 themed games, so I'm quite enjoying COD. Played a few rounds of multiplayer in several modes as well, but after years of Battlefield V, the levels just feel so small and empty.

Kena is everything I expected it to be. Ember Lab poured a lot of love into this one. Wonderful game!

Did exactly the same thing. First play through I only made it to the second biome - I had so many games on the go at the time so I just didn’t go back (don’t get me wrong I liked the game). This time around I love the game and have just hit the fourth biome. Loved the boss at the end of the third biome with that music playing.

i have a big backlog... i need to finish valhalla, far cry 6 bored me, minecraft has that new caves update, back 4 blood has kept me busy since october, need to finish jedi fallen order as well as sackboy and ratchet & clank. lot of retro games to play, on ps5 and on actual console. still wanna dig into the gta trilogy but not in the state it's in. cyberpunk, another game i barely touched because its so unfinished (they refuse to fix the broken cop a.i. and also there arent any cars hardly driving around in the city which is simply stupid and immersion breaking until they release the proper ps5 patch to fix all this). i was playing the survival game Conan again and.... it now has quality mode and performance mode. performance mode runs and looks WORSE lol! i cant play a game at 30 frames or less any more. just cant, aggravating.

really isnt anything "wow" for me coming out until february maybe.
