30 fps only still hurts.

That’s why I no longer buy games in their store.

In aero combat for me Il Stirmovik is still no 1.
No other game came even close to that.

Don’t expect to much.

They only helped to make the decision whether to buy PS6 or not to buy rather.

GTA is the only existing title that can do that trick.

This is rather bad thing. Consider this:
If they see it sells for $900 (even $1200 in some places) then you already can be sure where PS6 price begins. It will not be lower. Even if memory and parts gets cheaper - price around $1200 remains.

The uninteresting story is main and biggest flaw of the sequel. To the point I really didn’t care about the story. Cutscenes and idiotic dialogues only increased this disappointment.

Nah. It’s too late. They are already cutting down memory in PS6 project, to make cost lower. I don’t believe they would risk anger of investors by postponing full digital.

If parts cost $1000, on top of that you have assembly, warehouse, logistics and taxes.. how can you expect to buy it for $900..?!
Just think about it. And remember: they said to monetize their existing player base which means they don’t want to sell hardware with loss.

@ilyn Well, speculation based on strong grounds. Like many, I have lots of physical games, including e.g. physical Baldur’s Gate 3.. meaning in order to run it on PS6 it either needs to have a drive (oh..) or I need to pay again for digital copy (no way).

The problem is.. they want to monetize. Meaning, they will not offer any solution. They will offer me to purchase the game again..

@Northern_munkey “Sony can earn (…) without paying artists” seems like something you could really expect from them now. This aside, I think you still need to pay the artists, they usually have contracts that guarantee a cut. I mean, at least this artists that matter. Can’t tell for all the lesser and less known ones.

As for some games being published by them and released on Nintendo or PC but no PlayStation: some of these games are rather handheld or Japanese oriented, and in Japan Switch is no 1. console. Also, sone exclusivity might been paid.

I know they have lots of mess and poor organization management between different companies and divisions.. let’s not forget some years ago Sony mattered a lot on audio and hi/fi systems, also on TV market, or smartphones, or laptops.. and today.. without PlayStation brand they would simply disappear. PlayStation isn’t their crown jewel. This is the only jewel they have that is still worth money.

Guess where PS6 price will start then if they see it selling. That’s right. People believe they will get 60 fps on Pro will be highly disappointed soon.

What I miss extremely in PS Store, is a sorting similar to Xbox store: sort by discount % decreasing… it helps a lot to trace down what is actually discounted so much it’s worth to buy.

So your lists indeed help a lot too. They should hire you to do their job

that’s exactly my view on Insomniac games all being too much like one game over and over again

FH4 took place in UK, FH5 in Mexico and now FH6 in Japan.. they look different, feel different but obviously unless they change the location to the Moon.. it will always play similar.. how different can be a racing game? FH or GT, they will always play similar because of the genre they belong.

@AdamNovice The worser version without the patches which install when you put disc in the console even when the game is removed from store.. vs the digital copy you paid for rental which can be removed from store and your library just like they did with movies.

Having a disc you have the game.
Having a digital copy you hope it will never be removed or your account blocked.

Depends. At first you play some main story.. then a break and free roaming the city doing anything you can.. two weeks later you are just bored..

I tried GTA5 several times, and never even finished main story. Always ends the same.

Some time ago.. everyone was soo critical towards Senua Saga 2 because of 30 fps, and some other games also capped at 30 fps..

Couple days ago others hoped PS5 Pro with its bottleneck processor same as PS5 will suddenly offer 60 fps..

Now 40% is fine with 30 fps with 26% just hoping for 40 fps..

People.. let’s hope this will be at least stable 30 fps.. as you obviously should realize: they showed cut gameplay parts which keep stable fps.. this doesn’t mean it will not drop when there is more action on screen. They made a lot of efforts to make combat slow paced to hide the fact if you move camera faster it will not be smooth.

Blood of Dawnwalker and Onimusha first.
This one can wait for some discount or preowned copy to be available. Too much fatigue with Insomniac games.

Fable 2 and some God of war 2 emulation.

Nothing personal of course. Same for Marvel fatigue. It’s logical a movie targeted to mainstream audience especially kids who need to go to cinema with parents will earn a lot because more tickets are sold. Plus, basically there are not many decent movies at the moment to compete with. Like I used to say: fast food always sells more meals than 5 star restaurant its steaks. People nowadays like fast food in media. I remind you how well Barbie meal did vs Oppenheimer. They are making Zelda movie now - just wait to see how this will earn, even if it’s bad or shallow, people will run to cinemas like they run to buy the game.

@WolfyTn maybe.. or maybe they captured this already on PS5 Pro which is a PS5 as well.. and put “Captured on PS5” sign. Hope not.

The fact they moved the camera very slowly seems to be on purpose to hide the fact 30 fps will not be very smooth. I remember how RDR2 was showed it all looked so smooth.. they did the same trick.. and later when playing it was far different.

PS6 hardware parts alone cost $1000.
Add assembly, storage costs, logistics, margins and TAXES and you get $1200.

@johnedwin as they said, they want to make it more affordable to ai doubt about $500 difference. Rather 100-200.

@Scottyy there are image imperfections already now noticeable in gameplay, PSSR would only make them worse.
Anyway, I doubt they focused on PSSR, based on some analytics I read, they went their own way when it comes to upscalers. Both in PS5 and Xbox versions, I doubt they worked on making use of PSSR.. and if they do this in rush we will have a mess and not improvement.

@johnedwin we don’t know that, but they say loudly they want to make Helix more affordable, which means they will place the price very close to PS6.. if not lower. They can always rise the prices later.
But the price will be very close to PS6 anyway.

The thing is, people seem to forget $1000 for PS6 is only hardware cost. Add assembly, warehouse costs, logistics, margins and taxes - and you can get even $1200-1400.

Having Helix at $1500 next to it makes it like a steal.

@Berry48 considering big changes, so basically Sony killing physical games and not giving any possibility to still run my discs on fully digital PS6… I am just going to buy Helix. That means I already now build my library there. Buying games only on Xbox. Even in worst case scenario when none of them offer disc drive, at least MS allows me to move all my physical discs onto digital licenses. So I don’t need to pay twice on a digital only console.

For me the choice becomes simple.

What we know:

• PS6 has no disc drive
• PS6 has no physical games
• Any discs you have, and want to play, you need to buy again digitally
• PS6 is $1000-$1200
• Helix may or may not have physical drive
• Helix may or may not have physical games
• Disc to digital program allows you to keep all your games, no matter what
• Helix cost $1000-$1200

So even in worst case scenario if both have no disc drive, Helix still allows you to access ALL physical games you purchased.
In best scenarios it will have a disc drive, since they didn’t confirm anything.

Conclusion?
I will just keep good old PS5 for any decent 2-3 exclusives, but all other purchases including a console purchase goes to MS next generation.
They already showed a more consumer focused approach.

Yeah, it’s great to see these prices.. considering the fact when I see PS5 or Pro in distribution it’s usually $100 more expensive than these in article But hey.. who cares.

The protest doesn’t mean suddenly all PS5 owners show inactive for Sony.

But inactive 40, or 30 or even 20% accounts is significant. I also think this will impact sales of their games.

Funny thing is, they share a video about exclusives that includes some that didn’t even release, some that are available elsewhere and some that didn’t sell well.

Also.. will the video be available physical or only digital? LoL

We know however they also move back to exclusivity for some games, and with Zenimax and Activision they now own long list of pretty big IPs.

Played FH 4, 5, and 6 and can tell, these guys deliver. Can’t wait for the Clutch to release, although will wait for disc release and rather in a green box.

NES and SNES have lots of such gems.

Listening to Twitter or not.. that also shows that Xbox CEO indeed listens what people say, a nice attitude compared to Sony CEO and whole staff disappearing from social media after announcing killing physical distribution and ignoring people online commenting about that until today…

Sony is doing whatever they can to remind players, their ecosystem is the worst choice for a gamer. Last weeks were pretty disappointing for anyone owning a PS, and the future will be even worse.

I unplugged already a week ago.
Didn’t even notice. This generation is so bad it didn’t really affect me. Plus, I could switch to other consoles.

@Flaming_Kaiser Depends who you ask. It’s my personal opinion, but I am far from being a Sony fanboy like many (here as well) and capable to criticize them strongly. The game plays ok, the world although feels static with minimum of interaction, isn’t bad - combat and hunting is ok. But don’t be surprised if after 10 hrs of playing you will be just tired of the game and don’t even remember what the main mission is neither you will care about the story further. For me story wise it’s a huge downgrade from Zero Dawn. And in my case it is a story that keeps me playing, otherwise I would be playing any of the cheap grinding repetitive games.

I suggest to look for cheap disc somewhere, I got mine for maybe $20 preowned so I don’t regret that much.

If I am to pay $70 for something on a console I expect it to be a game and not a cinematic experience. I am tired of these.

It’s funny how even you say:

Tells a lot what to expect.

I would bet they use some AI powered app to take care of these tasks. That why errors happen.

Which is a very bad PR.
