Re: Talking Point: If Xbox Drops the Cost, Would You Be Happy Still Paying for PS6 Multiplayer?

Leinad7

For now we only hear leaks, rumors and some expectations. Truth is, I don't know yet.

This generation I own all of them: PS5, XSX, Switch and only passed on PC few years ago.
If MS delivers on their promises like Steam, Epic, GOG and other shops availability on their console as well as PC games running and free multiplayer... I can see myself buying their Box assuming the max price to be around $1500.
If it happens I would just pass on PS6, and just keep the Switch.

Even though I don't have a PC for few years, I often buy games at Steam or others to my library there so finally would have some equipment to run it. Also waiting a year or so for Sony to release their games on a Steam isn't a problem. Can wait. PC games are just cheaper to buy as well.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 604

Leinad7

PS5: The Witcher 3, my second play, finished it 10 years ago, waited and decided to play again. Surprised how many things changed with updates, new quests, gears, and how many things I actually missed playing first time. Love it.

PS5: Broken Sword Remaster, I have huge sentiment to both 1 & 2, next to Witcher and Skyrim this is my comfort zone

3DS: Professor Layton and Curious Village, to challenge my brain and actually relax.

Re: This Is Why Xbox Is Bringing All of Its Games to PS5 Now

Leinad7

@HRdepartment „ company that’s setting unrealistic number expectations and to achieve those numbers it comes at a great cost I know wasn’t considered when they set those numbers”

Oh believe me they considered that great cost when they set these expectations. I work in financial planning and analysis where we prepare a ground for these kinds of plans and from the very beginning it is always required to estimate how to reach the target with different scenarios including the painful ones.

Re: This Is Why Xbox Is Bringing All of Its Games to PS5 Now

Leinad7

Well, the profit margin expectations they have are rather impossible to reach, no matter if that is Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. I would say targeting at 20% would be difficult but manageable, but 30% no way.
Anyway, all this does not change a thing, they still plan to release next-gen both stationary and handheld. And if the rumors about stationary being more open equipment like a kind of Xbox branded PC with access to both MS Store and Steam.. that is something I am going tu buy. Of course depending on the price tag assuming it will be more expensive but they must be also realistic. Cannot be too expensive.

But I can imagine one stationary instead of having PS6, Xbox and a PC, why not have one that runs them all. Quite tempting.

Re: Aug 2025 USA Sales: Massive Month for Single Player Games, PS5 Can't Catch Switch 2

Leinad7

As for the first part, I just said almost the same using different words.
As for the second part, I believe people took hard lesson jumping into new generation PS5 and then waiting months and years for exclusive games, they won’t repeat same error and knowing these new AAA titles need many years to develop we can be almost sure there will be a lot of waiting in next gen as well. So why not keep PS5 and wait for several games to release before moving to next gen? That is what I will do this time.
Btw, I think we are unsure of handheld Xbox but the stationary one is already in production, they plan to release it somewhere around a year earlier before PS6 release.

Re: Sony's Acquisition of Bungie Continues to Be Questioned as Destiny 2 Falls Off a Cliff

Leinad7

@SeaDaVie
The problem is Destiny 2 can make money for now but won’t last forever. And their new works seem to rather be a failure. We can discuss but maybe let’s not pretend Marathon will earn..

Bungie once was a studio with great talents and IPs, but now they have no valuable IPs anymore and their greatest talents left the company long before the acquisition. At some point in upcoming 3-4 years I suspect Sony will just close Bungie.

Re: Aug 2025 USA Sales: Massive Month for Single Player Games, PS5 Can't Catch Switch 2

Leinad7

@SBBuds not really, Nintendo has incredibly huge and loyal fanbase. Switch one proved that and Switch 2 repeats the process. In these days where Sony and MS release games that are lazy open world adventure games third person view the game library on Nintendo is really diverse and enjoyable.

Notice one thing PS5 great sales come from the fact PS4 sold great and people had their libraries of games they wanted to keep playing. It wasn’t the great list of PS5 exclusives that sold the console because that list was and still is poor compared to PS3/PS4 generation.
Same for Xbox Series sales, the very same.
At the same time Switch 1 was a completely new console that apart from some virtual console games required players to build their game library from the beginning. On a console hardware weaker from all competitors. Yet, it outsold all of them.
You can say Nintendo games are colorful, simpler etc but they are easy to enjoy and start playing. Switch 2 will just repeat the success, while I can bet PS6 and new Xbox sales will be worse than current generation.

Re: People Don't Buy Anywhere Near As Many Games As You Think

Leinad7

Well, having several consoles I did buy some games, others I played through subscriptions like PS+ or GamePass as well. My problem is, a game must have really interesting story, good mechanics, and perfect length, not to mention minimum of grinding and doing repetitive stuff because developer was too lazy to design something new from time to time.

Which means, I rarely finish games. If I finish any of games, I must really like it and find it interesting to reach the end. On one hand played The Witcher 3 three times, both Plague Tale games, or new Tomb Raider trilogy, or Elden Ring.. and many more. On the other hand I deleted both Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West after 30-40 hrs, deleted Spiderman 2 after maybe 12 hrs, never finished AC Odyssey or Valhalla, or even the great Ghost ot Tsushima (which felt like Ubisoft style game unfortunately).

That is why I do a pros/cons analysis before buying any game to justify the cost and check if I want to play and finish that game or I am only bored and need something different for couple hours to get bored again with it. Being able to afford these games doesn’t justify throwing away cash for something in many cases I won’t like and won’t finish.

„It sold on the hype and a lot of those people moved on to…”

…newer generation because they had game libraries from PS4. That is basically how I would describe PS5 sales. And then there was cold shower - where are the games, where are the games…

Re: PS5's High Price Becoming a Serious Headache for Publishers

Leinad7

Funny. Just wait for PS6 release - its price will start where the PS5 Pro price level is and go even higher with 2x dualsenses and game included.

What is more funny, I fear people did not learn the lesson with PS5 release and lack of first party game releases. I wonder how often they will release on PS6 considering new AAA games take 4-6 years to develop and they did not even start developing PS6 games yet because they focus to develop anything still for PS5..

Re: State of Play Confirmed for 3rd September, Deep Dive on 007 First Light

Leinad7

You guys know what it means?
State of Play focused on third party game means we will not see any Sony first party game for a looong time. If they had anything to show they would I guess.

And that 007.. I am not convinced to buy it. If that was a mature, serious game with some movie like theme - would buy day1.
But 007 James Bond Junior not really..

Re: Rumour: PS6 Handheld Device Can Be Docked Like Nintendo Switch 2

Leinad7

@SuntannedDuck2
I was there, wondering which handheld to purchase many years ago: PSP, VITA and 2DS/3DS were on the table. Spend time on research, checked available games, accessories and prices and I went with New 3DS XL.

And no regrets. Amazing handheld, incredible game library. Before they closed e-Shop I managed to purchase whatever was worth to purchase, all the must-haves that were unavailable physically. Still have it. Still use it.
Whenever I am tired of big and time consuming PS5/XSX games I am just playing on 3DS to relax.

Right now, having to choose between PS6 handheld, Xbox handheld, SteamDeck and Switch 1/2 it will be Nintendo all they way. There is no sense to buy Sony/MS handheld since these games will be similar to PS5/6 and XSX games - big, open world, time consuming games for 100 hours that get boring after 20 hours.

Nintendo games may look more colorful, less realistic, but what Nintendo did - they did not follow the trend with power and realism, they deliver more relaxing, high quality games that give fun.

PS. Sorry for the essay xD

Re: Ghost of Yotei Focuses on Firearms in Latest PS5 Gameplay Video

Leinad7

It’s ridiculous that a game for current gen consoles looks worse than Tsushima on last gen consoles. Either they share gameplays from some pre-alpha or they think we are blind.
Not to mention gameplay itself is nothing special.

Some guys laughed it will be DLC to Tsushima.
Apparently Tsushima was Definitive Ghost game, and this looks like Ghost Lite.

I can already bet it will sell ~30-40% worse than GoT. And we all see why.

Re: Rumour: PS6 Handheld Device Can Be Docked Like Nintendo Switch 2

Leinad7

Let’s be honest now. How well did Sony do their portable devices: PSP was the only one good, Vita support was poor, memory cards expensive, and Sony killed it. How well are they doing with VR/VR2? Similar approach, poor support.

Won’t pay them for PS6 Portable knowing they will kill it soon or later. Not to mention their exclusive games delivery is incredibly lacking and bad since few years. Sorry, for hybrid or portable consoles Nintendo won and keeps the crown.

Re: 15+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Weekend Offer

Leinad7

@Max_the_German Origins is huge, nice story and you may finish it, very nice game. Odyssey is bigger than Origins, story is good enough, I liked it.. but it is too long. I would recommend to get Origins. Anyway - they both are discounted quite often so you can get Odyssey next time.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for September 2025?

Leinad7

Not so much. Like always, they add games that almost everyone already purchased on some -50% sales during these years. At least this month they add decent games. I went back from Premium to Extra, because Premium is so lacking. Extra is getting worse as well, if you have no idea what they will add next months you just need to check what games had poor sales, bad reception or are basically cheap these days, and you got a list for Extra in following months
