Re: Brazil Is Taking On Digital Games Ownership and Preservation After Sony Says No More Discs

@The_Hooligan
1) you pay for license to use the product, but on PC you can purchase from various shops, with various discounts, usually much cheaper than PS Store.
2) no idea, none of my games was removed allowing me to verify that..
3) prices are MUCH better than PS Store, refund policy allows you to get a real refund unlike on PS
4) partially, but I no longer trust Sony considering their Finance VP said about more monetizing an increasing profits from player base. It usually means prices go up, not down. Also if PS6 really is near $1200, I won’t buy it.

@Almost_Ghostly For me Sony lineup is all the same I’ll over again. Same 3 games, same 3 IPs, same assets. I am just tired of their games since this generation. And fear next gen will be even worse with lack of disc drive and discs - I am definitely not buying castrated console for $1000-$1200. Sooo I am waiting to see what that Sharma delivers with Helix - if they include disc drive, various storefronts and free multi in Helix at similar price to PS6 - I am buying Xbox.

F*ck Sony and their full digital agenda.

Re: PlayStation's First Post Since Physical Games Debacle Draws Over 65k Replies

@Almost_Ghostly well, that depends. If Xbox will keep disc drive, adds access to various storefronts and real PC console hybrid mode.. wouldn’t be so sure about Sony in next gen.

They both MS and Sony will release expensive consoles with a difference.
One will lack disc drive and discs, meaning PS Store monopoly at full, with high prices.
The other promised other stores, and they are now rethinking disc drive in Helix.

I am sure if Helix delivers, I buy it.
I am also sure if PS6 lacks drive and discs - I am not buying it.

@Darthtiddy I don’t miss Xbox One days, because I never had one before Series X. I always was either with Nintendo or Sony.
This gen got them them all, but next gen.. Although I have a library on PSN, if MS delivers Helix with PC mode and PC games and different storefronts.. I change to Xbox.

It’s a console toy. Not a heart transplant.

Is it bad though? No big dev is closed. No big and awaited project cancelled. Teams are being made smaller, but the division gets -20% .. and people behave like it was -50%.
I know it’s good to have some moment to stop talking about Sony doing their bad decisions, but when Sony will begin firing people at Bungie I am sure I will read lots of reasons that this is good here for obvious reasons

Re: Just 15% of All PS5 Software Was Purchased Physically Last Quarter

Leinad7

I am sorry but at this point I am suspecting they will release lots of “carefully prepared statistics” to justify their decision.
Was it 15%? Maybe 30%? Or 40%?
We will never learn truth.
But I am very sure 15% is a lie, just by seeing how they release sales stats for different games and adding physical copies makes rather a difference bigger than 15%.

Re: PlayStation Consoles to Stop Getting Disc-Based Physical Releases in 2028

Leinad7

Digital only PS6 would not be a huge problem, it there were several different stores with games on it with proper competition in pricing.

But there isn’t. And won’t be. Having only one monopoly PS Store where I tell you right after going full digital they will increase game prices. You will see. Why? Because you will have no other option to buy games there.

Xbox Helix starts to look really tempting at this point.

Re: Opinion: The PS6 Cannot Come Out in This Era of $1,000+ Consoles

Leinad7

The problem is: they already have designed a specification for PS6, ordered parts and hardware. It would be an outdated at release anyway compared to PCs, but still powerful.

If they postpone release by 2 years, they will release a very outdated hardware.
At this point they will not change specification or hardware parts. Too late.

Difficult choice for corporate executives.

@Swandivetotheasphalt yeah, at the same time even though you got multiplayer for free, 5.4m people bought Halo Infinite, which wasn’t even that great at all.
Gears 5 sold 1-2m copies.
Assassin Shadows 1.4m.
Crimson Desert 4.8m.
Spiderman 2 less than 1m.
Forza Horizon 5 sold 8.4m.

Sony hoped Tsushima sells much much more on Steam. Their games usually sell great on own system, for some reason none of them did that great on PC. Which is strange since they didn’t have much competition. They still earned some cash on PC. I just hope if they cut that income from PC and assuming game development costs grow.. they won’t increase prices soon or later..

Re: Housemarque Hints Its Next PS5 Game Could Be Smaller Than Saros

Leinad7

@Flaming_Kaiser original games with original ideas and some revolutionary gameplay mechanics..? You will see many of these. From third party developers. Not from first party ones. They won’t get a green light. Returnal sold decently, so Sony approved “sequel”. Saros sold incredibly bad, so they basically took away budget from them. That’s why they will make a smaller game.
