If you look at exclusives, it is pretty weak generation. Third parties save it a little bit but not much.
For next gen I am going back to PC or MS/PC.
I can safely guess that PS6 generation will offer what.. Spiderman 3, Horizon 3, Ghost of 3, and some other sequels/remasters. No, sorry, I am tired with that.

I like Odyssey or Valhalla due to the atmosphere and vibe. But I never finished these games.

My brain works like this, watched some Vikings or Last Kingdom and started playing Valhalla again. Loved it. But dimmer some point got tired.

Watched some 300 and started playing Odyssey again and god I would love they made some Rome based Assassin where you play some badass Roman or something.

I really hope the Hexe they work on will be something connected with witchcraft etc. Like this vibe.

I do like games when they picture something I like. Right now playing Indiana Jones game and man, for me this is GOTY because I LOVE INDIANA JONES movies. Sadly they did not think to make more of them when Ford was still young :/

Well, that is something we need to wait to see.
I can see that happening. Steam has bigger library. Bigger audience. Better prices. Deck is specific - it is more like a handheld, people who prefer some console plugged in to TV won’t buy it. People want easy plug and play machine and Steam is delivering that this time.

Many people who have weak PC may buy it, a stronger but still cheap machine. Whoever wants more power will buy Xbox PC. And whoever want to stay in closed console ecosystem will stay with PlayStation.

The choice everyone is talking about.

Niche? 124 million users monthly? Most having weaker PCs than Steam Machine? Man. Valve has all the statistics, they know very well what they are doing with this.

It feels too similar.

Slashing aside, combat pattern and even some animations look veeery similar. I am just tired of playing the same pattern again and again.
And just wait for the release - controls will be taken straight from SM/SM2. I bet on it.

I also said I expected the game to be more dark and adult. Let me give you simple example how I see it:

I wanted Dark Knight or Dark Knight Rises atmosphere, what they develop looks more like Batman & Robin movie.

PS. But I am not a fan of comics at all, you know.

I get your point. But on the other hand look at Arkham series, especially Arkham Knight or Arkham City, based on comics - yes, dark and cold - also yes. For me Marvel looks like teenage version of DC

For me this is simple answer, they did all great in presenting Japan, atmosphere, it is really great presentation.
But I am tired of those gigantic open worlds with thousands of markers on a map, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla..

They are too big. Who still has 200 hours to spend in one title?!
Tsushima was not that small but was more condensed.

The combat in Wolverine looks like the combat in SM2, combos and attacks combinations plus QTE. I bet they will use the same control pattern and button setup.
I was rather expecting something more dark, cold, brutal like the Wolverine 2013 or Logan 2017 movies, and they decided to develop a generic colorful Marvel/Spiderman world.

I know. I stopped playing online shooters long ago, only tried and played some newer BFs and CODs but I did not like that. People jumping like kangaroos, camping in some places.. I found Insurgency something really fresh and.. very challenging.

There are two modes: player vs player where you get your ass kicked in seconds and the player team vs ai bots which is very challenging but here you can have some fun. Would not buy it for full price but on a good sale? Worth trying.

@AdamNovice would be good if they tried different genre. After all marvel games that most play the same, not sure about others but I am hungry for something completely different.

That is why I have zero interest in Wolverine.
The colorful, open world, QTE third person action game that again looks like Spiderman on the ground.

They made Spyro, Ratchets, Resistance.. they could develop something fresh finally and stop making all their new games like a copy paste.

Insurgency is really worth trying. Due to higher difficulty and easy death with just few hits, it makes people play more tactical and cooperate. Even without headset you still feel you are a team and support each other, and progress carefully.

I tried that after Battlefields and CODs and Insurgency surely was a huge improvement in that matter. But yeah, it doesn’t have single player.

I would love if they just dropped Horizon series and went back to Killzone series.
Horizon looks all nice and colorful and fancy, but the lore and characters and dialogue are so damn stupid I could not finish any of them.

Killzone however. The trilogy was magnificent.

I have strange impression like it was some another generic Chinese developed mmorpg.
I mean, really not interested in mmorpg.

People had higher expectations, I see more people disappointed with that presentation.

Good to see they still support the game, although I did not really like it. Tried few times, but driving model and overall experience.. did not keep me interested for more than 10 hours.

Apple is selling socks for iPhones.
Sony is selling monitors with dock for controller.

Both overpriced.

@PuppetMaster what the other guy meant is we can already see Wolverine will be Spiderman 2 reskin. At least looking at the gameplay and ideas used it looks like Spiderman without web swinging and that is not a good thing. Insomniac became a studio focused on developing nearly identical type of games. How long until it gets boring?

@Medic_alert Nah, for me Atsu story is another generic revenge story. Very little improvements over Jin story and gameplay. I personally prefer the Tsushima. More epic.

@Deljo played GT4 and GOW2 on Xbox so cannot understand why Sony does not support their own backward compatibility like that.

@tselliot Man, Sony would kneel to take $1m and you say they don’t need that $2m? What Sony was doing in recent few years seems like they are every focused to take any money from us, from others here and even go to court to get more.
I am not biased, they are corporation focused on maximizing profit. We can see that in game pricing going up, Plus pricing going up, console prices going up too

@TrollOfWar I think they did sing that. OD was ordered before MS changed their strategies.

@tselliot It is not that bad. They will be paid by MS for that development plus also for adding into GamePass. Kojima will get nice payment for all of that. Sales does not really matter at this point.

@Cvantez personally speaking, I don’t care how much power Switch 2 has, just like did not care with Switch 1, 3DS and their other consoles.
I like Nintendo games, they are something else after playing this huge open world action adventure games. When I want to just relax I take 3DS or Switch, not PS5 or XSX.

I did not even expect they will add anything exciting. It’s already a pattern for years they add either some weak titles, games that sold poorly and are cheap to add, or games that are old and yeah cheap.

For now developed only for Xbox, but possibly will land on PS5 a year or two later. I don’t believe Kojima is capable of developing both versions simultaneously, they will finish one and hopefully depending on other projects convert to PS.

That’s the story - Jin was a samurai with a code and all that, the story is not only about the war but mainly about the change that happened to Jin and in Jin.
Atsu? I feel like Sony has some fetish on revenge stories: TLOU2, Ragnarok, now Yōtei.

I liked GoT more, liked Jin much more than Atsu, the overall open world, the combat, the gameplay feels very similar and very little evolution. I often had impression this pretty lazy sequel than any huge evolution or revolution.

Overall, this setting and genre, I am fine with Tsushima and Yōtei and hope they will focus on something else now, and not on some kind of 3rd part. I get that the easies they can do is another sequel and start milking this IP like all other IP Sony own, but I have enough of Samurais, katanas and Japan for few years.
Want something new and fresh.

They are releasing one specific build so optimization for that XPC should be similar to what optimization for a specific console is.
After years from dropping PC I am really considering getting that one as long as they deliver what promised (Steam, Epic, GOG etc) plus free online. Of course depending on the price

From last few consoles generations I only see the increase in power is lower and lower while the quality and optimization .. even worse. Not going to buy anything say one this time, will wait to see the games and their condition.

Yeah having a group of good team mates here makes a difference. When I play without the it all depends who you get into team and that’s a lottery. But even then having good skill means in most cases you just better than all these noobs.

BF6 comes back to what BF3/4 were and is incredible. I rather found the Yotei lacking here because this is just Tsushima on steroids.
I spent thousand hours in BF3 long ago and I find the BF6 to be incredible here.
It will dominate charts for a long time.

I would prefer consoles getting Il-Sturmovik games much much more.

Life lessons we got in last years always lead to the same. What seems to be pro consument in the end is actually pro corporate plan. And these two are not the same.

They don’t need to release it on consoles if MS next gen is going to be a PC it will just ran all of it starting from WOW, StarCrafts Warcrafts etc. Why spend money on conversion to console in this case?

Well. Do not have the PC now, but Retroarch, XBSX2 or Dolphin work like a dream on series X and run lots of big N games, Dreamcast titles and PS2 too.

That’s what you get along with a corporate having monopoly and only one (own) shop available.

Next gen may look even more complex when you realize that power wise it may be Xbox PC >>> PS6 > Switch 2.
Devs will focus on PC and PS6 optimization more and I suppose Switch 2 will just get games in the end after some downgrade.

Actually Sony claimed they invested a lot of support in SE Rebirth and look what we got. Have you tried running it on PS5 fat?
Terrible 30 fps or even worse performance mode looking like PS2 title.
