Re: 'You Can Play Your Purchased Games As Usual': Sony Breaks Silence on PS5, PS4 Game Expiry DRM

Leinad7

Anyone believing this is a glitch or fake news must be very trusting in corporation that already made it required to validate online your new disc drive for PS5 online.
And it took their communication department pretty long to prepare a statement to confront the news.

I think they did it on purpose trying to see how gamers will react. And they stepped back (for now) because of that reaction.

Re: Marathon (PS5) - Bungie's Extraction Shooter Is Truly Brilliant, and It Only Gets Better

Leinad7

@Oram77 the problem is, Sony does not want to wait several years for Marathon to establish anything. They wanted to sell millions and start monetizing now. We already see it did not happen and will not happen for at least year or more.

That means, they will change it into free to play by the end of the year. Just wait for it. That is the only way for the game to get more players.

Re: Marathon (PS5) - Bungie's Extraction Shooter Is Truly Brilliant, and It Only Gets Better

Yeah, sure. The real summary of all that are sales results. And according to these, it obviously did better than Concord, but far far from expectations Sony had. They need a true live service gem that involves millions of players and leads to constant incomes. What it delivered, is around 250k copies on Steam and approx less than 1m on PS5+Xbox together.

That would be great result for an indie game.
It’s a terrible result for a live service that is supposed to provide constant income long term.

Anyone believing it will suddenly grow to 5 or 10m copies sold must be crazy It will sell more due to some rebates and sales, but it will take at least 6-12 months. Sony needed it to sell several millions to start generating income and with some add ons and dlcs to do so for couple years.

It will not. And we can already see that.

Re: 'Exclusives Are Absolutely Not Happening': Xbox Helix Will Share Library with PS6

Leinad7

Well. Who can afford the price will definitely buy it to own the most powerful box under TV. Everyone talks about price, forgetting it is supposed to be even 40% more powerful than PS6. THAT will have impact how games run for sure. Higher performance, higher resolution, better ray tracing, and higher.. price. Everything that is better bigger or faster usually costs more.

That’s why V8 under the hood costs more than V6 or R4.

Re: Opinion: I Wonder if Xbox Helix Will Force Sony to Break Its PS6 Silence

Leinad7

First, this may somehow force Sony to release PS6 latest in 2028, and not 2029 or so. They cannot let competitor to take lead in new generation at the beginning. New generation is somehow a kind of new opening, if people will buy MS box they may not pay for Sony box.

Second, Sony remembers what happened when X360 released before PS3. Better or not, more expensive or not. It will be much more powerful and if they wait 1-2 years with PS6 release, people who want newer and more powerful box will already have one.

Let’s wait. A year or so isn’t too long it will pass fast.

Re: Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Release Date Announced

@UltimateOtaku91 and Insomniac games, Guerilla games, Naughty Dog games, Housemarque games, Sicker Punch games and so on..

Where is creativity, where is passion?
I am tired of replaying same formula in similar open world, with similar assets, similar gameplay mechanics..
Aren’t you tired of this?

Re: Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Release Date Announced

Leinad7

@cainhurst94 I’m a video game fan, not Nintendo only fan. And don’t have profile on Nintendo Life

I am just saying, that it is clear when you look at Insomniac games, that they are reusing same formula, same assets, same models, even same control settings in their games. It’s like playing DLCs.

Re: Incoming Xbox Boss Promises a 'Renewed Commitment to Console', and 'Hears' Fans on Skipping PS5

Leinad7

@Rich33 We actually know nothing official. But leaks suggest it will have Steam/Epic etc support. I don’t care how they earn on it - I care if I am able to turn on Xbox PC and choose where to buy, play their games plus PC games and additionally Sony games. All in one.

How they make it work? It’s their problem. Not mine. I am not investing in their stocks. I want the box that runs everything.

Re: Incoming Xbox Boss Promises a 'Renewed Commitment to Console', and 'Hears' Fans on Skipping PS5

Leinad7

@PuppetMaster Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstein, COD and many others are now Xbox.
It would be rather painful move if they made these exclusive to their own ecosystem. Many fans own other consoles like PS or Nintendo and they would loose a chance to play these.

You may not care, but check these games sales numbers on PS4/5 and Nintendo consoles. Many care about these.

Re: Opinion: Sony's Disgraceful Bluepoint Closure Should Concern Every PS Studios Fan

Leinad7

@Godot25 I can only see now that Sony is basically driving their development on 3-4 IPs.

How long it will take for people to get bored with Horizon, Marvel or Ghost of? They are literally milking same and same ideas and solutions. This is already noticeable that their sequels sell worse than previous games. They lack originality and some revolution.

At the same time they murder studios that shown they are capable of delivering quality products. These guys could remake Bloodborne. Or GOW games.

Re: Opinion: Sony's Disgraceful Bluepoint Closure Should Concern Every PS Studios Fan

Leinad7

@Godot25 first you say that Sony won console war, then you say MS is still there releasing new console. These things, the leadership can change. Sony once was a leader in TVs and audio. Samsung was cheap alternative to Apple. And Germans did reliable cars

What if competition releases the hybrid console PC and that becomes a success? What if Nintendo releases more powerful box one day?
At the moment we can see Sony doesn’t need competition to basically murder own studios. Cost cutting. Guess how long they need to increase console and game prices? To increase profit?

Re: Sony Makes Shocking Decision to Shut Down Bluepoint Games

Leinad7

Decisions like this, made one month before fiscal year end, when the next years budget is prepared… is not really linked to any disappointing development or failure, but rather management decision to find quick cost cuts and savings.

If this was related to any development fails, we would hear some leaks here and there.
This was dropped suddenly, so decision was done on the top management and was shared just now.

That is suspicious.
If they look for savings… what stops them from increasing prices..?
