Well. Who can afford the price will definitely buy it to own the most powerful box under TV. Everyone talks about price, forgetting it is supposed to be even 40% more powerful than PS6. THAT will have impact how games run for sure. Higher performance, higher resolution, better ray tracing, and higher.. price. Everything that is better bigger or faster usually costs more.

That’s why V8 under the hood costs more than V6 or R4.

Honestly, why one should care? It’s 1/2 exclusive games a year. There are hundreds of games on PC that sell better.

@Areus Uncharted had good writing, characters, dialogs and story. Horizon series on the other side.. nice huge colorful open world and stupid story, cringe dialogs, boring characters and writing and game pace is .. ridiculously boring.

First, this may somehow force Sony to release PS6 latest in 2028, and not 2029 or so. They cannot let competitor to take lead in new generation at the beginning. New generation is somehow a kind of new opening, if people will buy MS box they may not pay for Sony box.

Second, Sony remembers what happened when X360 released before PS3. Better or not, more expensive or not. It will be much more powerful and if they wait 1-2 years with PS6 release, people who want newer and more powerful box will already have one.

Let’s wait. A year or so isn’t too long it will pass fast.

@BearsEatBeets No they didn’t. They were probably paid for some PSSR 2.0 advertising and doing a comparison to convince some ppl to go and buy it.

Just notice how suddenly after next generation is postponed articles and comparison pop up showing how great the Pro is Marketing all the way.

@Northern_munkey Man you just said you prefer Marathon game style over ARC. That one statement is enough to be sure you would condemn Marathon if it wasn’t Sony product. That is the only reason some guys defend it.

I am just saying, that it is clear when you look at Insomniac games, that they are reusing same formula, same assets, same models, even same control settings in their games. It’s like playing DLCs.

@UltimateOtaku91 Some of the staff means few employees. Sony fired all the rest. These guys are quite talented so obviously some other companies will hire them. But criticism is because Jaffe said MS should do it.

For some, this is like a signal to start arguments.

@Rich33 We actually know nothing official. But leaks suggest it will have Steam/Epic etc support. I don’t care how they earn on it - I care if I am able to turn on Xbox PC and choose where to buy, play their games plus PC games and additionally Sony games. All in one.

How they make it work? It’s their problem. Not mine. I am not investing in their stocks. I want the box that runs everything.

@Vladspartan I own them all, PS5 XSX Switch and some others like 3DS which I actually play more often than the stationary ones. I don’t have a PC since few years anymore hence I am interested in MS hybrid console only if it supports PC games. If yes, I am going to buy it.

@Godot25 the problem with Sony I have is that are literally milking the same IPs and the same formula over and over again since PS4 generation with minimal innovation.
I am just bored with another Horizon, another GOW and another Spiderman-esque like Wolverine.

@Rich33 if their next console is PC in a box, why does it mean Xbox is dead? Because it runs console Xbox games? Or because it also runs PC games? Or maybe because it runs all Sony PC released games..?

@PuppetMaster Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Doom, Wolfenstein, COD and many others are now Xbox.
It would be rather painful move if they made these exclusive to their own ecosystem. Many fans own other consoles like PS or Nintendo and they would loose a chance to play these.

You may not care, but check these games sales numbers on PS4/5 and Nintendo consoles. Many care about these.

How long it will take for people to get bored with Horizon, Marvel or Ghost of? They are literally milking same and same ideas and solutions. This is already noticeable that their sequels sell worse than previous games. They lack originality and some revolution.

At the same time they murder studios that shown they are capable of delivering quality products. These guys could remake Bloodborne. Or GOW games.

@Kiltedhaggis Didn’t buy it. Had chance to play around 30 minutes. Which convinced me not to buy it and not being interested in further gameplay.

@Godot25 first you say that Sony won console war, then you say MS is still there releasing new console. These things, the leadership can change. Sony once was a leader in TVs and audio. Samsung was cheap alternative to Apple. And Germans did reliable cars

What if competition releases the hybrid console PC and that becomes a success? What if Nintendo releases more powerful box one day?
At the moment we can see Sony doesn’t need competition to basically murder own studios. Cost cutting. Guess how long they need to increase console and game prices? To increase profit?

Decisions like this, made one month before fiscal year end, when the next years budget is prepared… is not really linked to any disappointing development or failure, but rather management decision to find quick cost cuts and savings.

If this was related to any development fails, we would hear some leaks here and there.
This was dropped suddenly, so decision was done on the top management and was shared just now.

@Stragen8 Honestly, Remake sold well enough but Rebirth sold much worse even with marketing from Sony. This should have been one game. Not a trilogy.

Tried Nioh 1, wanted to love it, deleted after 2 hrs.
Tried Nioh 2, I managed to play a little longer but still just got rid it after 5-6 hrs.

I am afraid I will wait for a good sale with 3rd, because it doesn’t look like a big improvement. Something doesn’t click for me in this series sadly.

@PuppetMaster aside from all of these games looking generic and copied from everything around, I also do not support these knowing that in China there is no place for independent management. All of these Chinese devs are controlled in some ways by Chinese communist government, like everything in China. They want you to buy all these shiny looking games, and get access to your data. Suddenly everyone forgot why Huawei was banned in some countries when people realized it is used for spying for them?!

Not to mention, China uses cheap products in gaming like in any other economy branch, so you get used to them, buy them, want more.. and forget than in case of any global conflict between biggest powers, China will not stand on the same side as most of us here So you basically are feeding the power that one day will use that against you.

Like someone said here on in the other Chinese game article… they all look so generic and similar. It’s like after copying from all other games, they now copy from themselves.
