@dodgykebaab Yeah Bluesky is the kind of place on the internet that I want to have absolutely nothing to do with. It seems to be the center of some very questionable content to say the least. The fact that it's abbreviation is BS says it all.
Mediocre collections of old mediocre SNES/Genesis games just don't do it for me. For one these games are very easily emulated, but even if you're against that these are just sort of a waste of time and money for most people.
Yikes, new one looks like a cartoon by comparison. Older one just all-around looks better and it's not even just down to the colors but the way things are modeled as well.
I already own the remastered version of this game and I never saw the need to make a newer version of it. They're making it easy for me to say no thanks and forget about this one. Feels like I have more Yakuza games than I have time to play by now anyways.
Well this is the end of Sony making televisions I would be willing to buy. Sticking to Samsung and LG. Sony used to mean Japanese quality, but not anymore, now it just means rebranded Chinese junk.
I went with black covers for my launch PS5 but never bothered with new ones for my Pro. Something about the Pro just looks better than the launch console did with the white covers and I am fine with it.
Been playing this on Xbox and I love it as a love letter to Initial D. It feels like the best Initial D game for capturing the feel of the anime and not just the race battles. The manga comic cutscenes have sound effects and are nicely done, and the story really hits for Initial D fans, except it's sushi as opposed to tofu. Even the world feels appropriate for the classic anime settings.
To top it off the driving is fun and it's even got some decent customization as well. Very simcade but that's what I think it should be, and the graphics sort of feel like the modern Persona sort of anime direction. Highly recommend this one if you're into this sort of thing or NFS Underground sort of games.
I bet these things are going to be a nightmare to maintain. The more complex the electronics the more problems. Not a fan of turning cars into some tech device either, it's supposed to be transportation, not my latest smart gadget.
Why are we even talking about a PS6 this soon anyways? The PS5 Pro is still relatively new and I can't think of any upcoming games to demand an entirely new console for. It seems like rushing into next gen this soon would be a really bad idea.
Seems like a number of these categories are a joke. Like content creator of the year going to some popular pop culture youtuber who hardly covers games anymore? Best TV show? E-sports? Games for impact and game changer?
Whatever, at least they gave the main award to a game that deserves it for once.
@bluemage1989 From what I've seen cloud is necessary in Flight Sim 24, it's how they kept the file size down so significantly compared to 2020. The previous 2020 Flight Sim basically let you download most of the data you needed, certainly enough to enjoy playing it offline or with slow internet speed, it only really used data streaming for enhancing detail.
I always thought Flight Sim 2020 was the far better game but it takes up a lot more space, mostly because it is actually playable offline. This one is basically entirely reliant upon streaming.
So happy I got a PS5 Pro, it's definitely my plan for the rest of this decade as I wait for next gen and better computer hardware. Not even planning on getting a PS6 or Next Xbox, planning on getting a nice gaming PC whenever the PS5 Pro is finally outdated.
Who cares these awards are just a big business AAA industry insider controlled event, big industry figures patting themselves on the back and rewarding their own cliquishness.
@Gravity_Bear Yeah true I think Sony might as well just capitalize on this ram demand and build their own, they do have the expertise and ability to do that after all.
@StitchJones Yeah I agree new AAA game development has slowed down to such a crawl I don't even bother anticipating games until they are almost out. I think AAA has been in this big massive budget massive production era and it's become unsustainable, they're just spending too much time and money on these games and it makes it so they only go with the safest bets and don't do anything more niche.
@StitchJones I miss the days when Playstation had some proper first party variety. Ever since the late PS3 era it's been a sea of cinematic action games and walking simulators.
Yikes I was hoping they would survive this rough launch, I actually had an interest in buying this one but the early issues made me put this in my "wait for a sale" category.
I was never a fan of this one and I love rally racers and racing games in general. I think Rush Rally 3 is the better game by far when it comes to this unofficial indie rally racer direction. I guess it's got that PS1 look if you're into that, seems to be it's main gimmick, but I would rather just play actual PS1 games.
Royal should have been an update or DLC expansion/overhaul. I mean Street Fighter 4 managed to do this back in the 360 era, I remember only needing to download a DLC to turn my Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition into Ultra Street Fighter 4.
What they did with Persona 5 is the type of thing they had to do in the PS2 era, back before we had DLC and the ability to update games. It makes absolutely no sense to continue doing things that way.
Could never understand why some people put so much time and effort into something they don't own only to be surprised when the ownership doesn't like someone else taking possession of it.
This is definitely one of those online open world games where the online feels very forced and unnecessary but they force it anyways just to make it a total live services game. By making it live services it also feels just so soulless and passionless. I would so much rather just have an offline experience with real pros and some actual progression like the first 3 titles.
In this it's like you never feel like you're making any actual progression because all the missions and goals just rotate and refresh all the time, so you just wind up doing the same things over and over again. Seems obvious how the whole game seems to revolve around grinding away for virtual funny money to spend on loot boxes and cosmetics. Thing is after getting some basic decent gear for my skater, it feels like I no longer have anything to play towards unless I still want to play skater dress-up.
Looking forward to finally being able to do qualifying and standing starts. Love GT but that back of the pack rolling start catch up to the leader thing they have always done always felt like the most dated and limiting factor to it as far as serious racing sims go.
24 hour endurance sounds crazy, I know the formula for these endurance races in the past was to put some hours in, pause and take a break, repeat until finished. Still, doubt I will ever have the dedication for that, that's for the truly hardcore sim fans.
@jvecc Yeah never really saw the appeal of gaming like that. It works for PC gaming, like when playing the sort of games that I play with a mouse and keyboard, but for everything else I greatly prefer gaming on a TV with a controller. Even some genres like FPS that work great with a KB mouse I prefer on console simply because it's so much more relaxed to play them on a big screen sitting back in a couch/chair with a controller.
Oh yeah rush into releasing new consoles so I can wait 5 years all over again for them to finally get a decent variety of games that actually take advantage of them!
