Tokyo Xtreme Racer was such an iconic piece of the PS2 library that we’re hyped to see its series reboot return to the PS5 next year.
While this was confirmed at Tokyo Game Show in September, we now have a release date: 26th February, 2026.
The press release reads:
“Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a racing game set in a sealed-off future Tokyo, where you compete for the fastest speed in your customized cars on the highways that weave through the city, aiming to reach the top. Drive real cars on meticulously recreated courses, compete against powerful rivals, slip through other cars, and engage in spirit-wracking battles.”
Fans of manga like Initial D will love this one – or anyone who has a taste for arcade racers in general, really.
