Re: Poll: How's Your Hype for Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

JayJ

Zero hype to be honest, no interest as well. I don't really have any interest in super hero stuff in general so that's got a lot to do with it, that and I feel like the material has become so over-saturating in entertainment over the past decade especially. To top it off I never beat the original Spider Man game and I got the remaster through PS+ Premium. I feel like this can easily be a one n done interest for me.

Re: Now Cancelled, Hyenas Was Reportedly SEGA's Biggest Budget Game Ever

JayJ

@HotGoomba Thing is Sega has tons of great IP's that have been gathering dust for what is probably decades now. They have so many great things they could be doing with their money. Heck they could just release their old 90's arcade games, or go back to some of their Dreamcast era franchises they have abandoned, like JSR and Crazy Taxi.

Re: Demand for PlayStation Portal Sky High in Japan, Pre-Orders Reportedly Sold Out

JayJ

@nhSnork Yeah I do feel like Japan is sort of the ideal market for something like this, if the demand is actually legitimate over there. They actually have really great internet in most places apparently, so something like this might actually work well. That and a lot of people just don't have the space for a big gaming setup in places like Tokyo, so handhelds are really appealing to them.

It's a whole different world from what I'm used to in the US with our awful and archaic internet infrastructure all over.

Re: Reminder: Last Chance to Claim Your PS Plus Essential PS5, PS4 Games for September

JayJ

Being able to play the Saints Row reboot basically confirmed everything I suspected about it. It's complete garbage! It's amazing how bad it is compared to just about everything I have played lately, heck even compared to the first 3 games. To top it off it's not even a better looking game, graphics look last gen to me despite bad performance and the art style was simply awful. Then there's the uninteresting characters, cringe story, boring missions, awful driving, I mean I could go on but then I'd be writing an entire review. Basically, the game sucks, and I am glad I didn't have to pay for it.

Re: Xbox Poised to Borrow from PS5's DualSense Controller

JayJ

Well the dualsense triggers are basically just an evolutionary concept of the pulse triggers Microsoft came up with for the Xbox One, and haptics are far from being a Sony innovation, they borrowed that from mobile devices. Then there's sixaxis, an idea Sony borrowed from Nintendo. Heck even the analog stick is an idea they borrowed from Sega, same deal with analog triggers. The touchpad? Borrowed that from laptops. Speaker? Another idea borrowed from mobile devices.

Re: NBA 2K24 (PS5) - Stunning Sports Game Wants You to Spend

JayJ

I stopped buying NBA 2K games because:

A: they have become far too bloated with massive installs
B: hardly any noteworthy improvement is made year to year
C: they have become microtransaction heavy

I feel like they might as well just make these games a live service deal where it constantly gets updated. They are already heavily pushing the microtransactions, but I guess there's still too many people buying these things yearly.

I think 2K19 is the last one I really liked.

Re: Developers Rally Together as Unity Attempts to Clarify Controversial Install Fee Policy

JayJ

@Jaz007 I don't think they can do that, as removing a product people purchased from being eligable for downloading is not only a violation of service and customer agreements, it's a sales violation as well. If you sold someone something and you take it away, then you technically never actually sold them anything and they have legal grounds to entitlement to a full refund at the very least.

Obviously things are different when it comes to services, but generally speaking that would create a huge problem among consumers and distributers.

That and I am pretty sure a company trying to charge companies like Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo/Apple for each individual download on their platforms would be a violation of their terms of service for publishers on their platforms that would probably result in a massive lawsuit with those companies suing Unity.

To top it off, that would also be a direct violation of laws and legislation regarding digital sales in numerous countries, which would result in those countries taking Unity to court or massive penalties and possibly banishment from any market entitlements.
