@Shad361 I think that's more of a focus on a fanbase than the casual audience.

@Shad361 Then again I'd say their biggest problem is a lack of diversity among their lineup. Most of their games so far have been very similar in terms of genre and approach.

Played this game during the free 10 hour trial weekend offer they had recently on Xbox, as a fan of Diablo 3, I wasn't sold on it.

Now this is the sort of odd niche interest thing I can get into lol, always loved train simulation games for some reason.

Funny, this is exactly the sort of thing that made PS fans passionately hate Xbox for the past decade.

@johncalmc That kinda sums up the industry for me lately.

Cool, might as well just end the franchise I guess, it has gotten very stale and repetitive after Far Cry 3, with every sequel basically copying that formula only becoming increasingly uninspired.

Funny enough this latest attempt at doing something different only sounds lazier.

@Broosh Yup, this isn't the Sony I grew up with, that's for sure. Can hardly recognize Playstation anymore.

Surprised they actually made a sequel, I wasn't exactly a fan of the first one and a lot of people didn't seem to like it much either.

@ArashiKageTaro I think it's because I just usually don't like to be at a desk when I'm trying to relax at home. I have a good and capable gaming laptop, but even then it's just something I'd only use on a desk, only setup that really works with the gaming keyboard and mouse that I like to use.

I'd buy it, I hardly play games on PC these days.

I kinda think the lighting looks more realistic in the original remaster to be honest, the hazy look is just more like that of a big city from high up in a building. I guess it's on if you really like the saturated look.

This is a pretty underwhelming alternative to be honest. Does nothing to make me want an "upgrade," especially given it still has the same general shape, and how they're trying to nickel and dime the vertical stand.

Sounds like they took a look at Google Stadia and said "lets do that."

Zero hype to be honest, no interest as well. I don't really have any interest in super hero stuff in general so that's got a lot to do with it, that and I feel like the material has become so over-saturating in entertainment over the past decade especially. To top it off I never beat the original Spider Man game and I got the remaster through PS+ Premium. I feel like this can easily be a one n done interest for me.

@MB81 It could, but the best answer is "it's complicated." Like there is a lot of developments as of lately that has been leading downfalls in the industry.

Nope, and I got zero interest. Completely over that franchise.

@MFTWrecks I'm sure they did, but then some bean counters did the risk assessment and decided any further spending would be bad for business.

@MikeOrator Made by the same publisher, so not a surprise, but I think this has a similar sort of following as COD fans, where as Far Cry's audience seems to be less enthusiastic for continual new releases.

Hopefully they don't become one of those developers spending too much on a fancy studio.

@MFTWrecks I think the problem with that is how these online live service games cost a lot to put up and keep active. I think Sega simply decided it wasn't worth spending more time and money on.

@HotGoomba Thing is Sega has tons of great IP's that have been gathering dust for what is probably decades now. They have so many great things they could be doing with their money. Heck they could just release their old 90's arcade games, or go back to some of their Dreamcast era franchises they have abandoned, like JSR and Crazy Taxi.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing they cancelled this mess. Imagine spending that much on something this poorly conceived. I guess somebody at Sega finally wised up.

I feel like this is the open world equivalent to the COD franchise.

Nobody likes live services besides suits in big tech corporations.

@nhSnork Yeah I do feel like Japan is sort of the ideal market for something like this, if the demand is actually legitimate over there. They actually have really great internet in most places apparently, so something like this might actually work well. That and a lot of people just don't have the space for a big gaming setup in places like Tokyo, so handhelds are really appealing to them.

It's a whole different world from what I'm used to in the US with our awful and archaic internet infrastructure all over.

Weird, but hey, if people actually want this junk I guess it's their money they're wasting.

Honestly though, wonder how much of that is scalpers hoping it's going to be popular.

@Netret0120 It amazes me how some people actually try/tried to defend that mess. Shows the power a desire to justify a purchase can have. I just feel sorry for anyone who paid much for it.

Being able to play the Saints Row reboot basically confirmed everything I suspected about it. It's complete garbage! It's amazing how bad it is compared to just about everything I have played lately, heck even compared to the first 3 games. To top it off it's not even a better looking game, graphics look last gen to me despite bad performance and the art style was simply awful. Then there's the uninteresting characters, cringe story, boring missions, awful driving, I mean I could go on but then I'd be writing an entire review. Basically, the game sucks, and I am glad I didn't have to pay for it.

Wow, I will have to get this. I love this series, easily my all-time favorite import. I actually have the original PS2 controller like this along with the game.

30fps was always the worst thing about this game. Sony needs to make this an official patch for PS5 users.

I think they expanded a bit too much, extending beyond their strengths.

I'll leave the same comments as I did when this game released on Gamepass. It's got an incredible atmosphere, but the game it's self is very disappointing. They should have gone for more of a modern Resident Evil sort of experience, but it leaned too heavily on being a puzzle game, where it's just mediocre.

Makes sense, GT Sport was basically the beta version of GT7.

I find it hard to believe that anyone is actually lining up to buy this thing.

@Shad361 Exactly. Funny how many fluff pieces are being written about him now that he has been booted. Playstation was successful in spite of him, not because of him.

He benefited off everything that was built up before he took charge, and he was about to make it all come crashing down if they kept him around much longer. It's a good thing we got rid of this guy, he was never anything great.

Well I was interested in playing Callisto Protocol, I just didn't want to buy it.

Well, I guess that's it for Platinum Games. I won't expect anything great from them ever again.

Again? This is why I refused to add my credit card to my account since that first big hacker situation they had. Every time I buy something digitally on PS I simply use those gift card codes you can buy off amazon.

This game has been a dumpster fire.
