Update []:
Fortnite leakers have managed to get their hands on some new information about the game's collab with South Park, including playable characters and other details.
The event seems to be called Born in Chaos, and according to the leaks, it'll include five new skins allowing you to play as Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, and Butters.
In the above image, it does appear that the characters will be using mechs of some description to match the other Fortnite characters.
It also seems as though Towelie will feature as a Sidekick.
The event gets started in just a couple of days on 9th January, so we're sure to see full details in due course.
Original Story: Fortnite's latest collab is with the longstanding animated series South Park, and fans are wondering exactly how its characters will fit into Epic's free-to-play shooter.
The crossover was recently confirmed by Epic Games, with an official post teasing it with an image of Butters playing Fortnite:
So, it's happening, but what exactly are we in for?
Well, it could be that the diminutive main characters are introduced as Sidekicks, like SpongeBob was in his collaboration.
Alternatively, some fans think they could be put into robotic exoskeletons in order to match the typical player character model in Fortnite. This method was used for Bart and Lisa in the Simpsons event.
Whatever the case, there isn't long to wait; the crossover gets started on 9th January 2026. It seems we won't learn anything more until then, but it's only a couple of days.

Maybe it will be those anime characters the kids became for one episode or their WoW characters?
Isn't Fortnite aimed at kids though? Surely this would have to be a very watered down version of South Park?
I reckon they'll be Sidekicks.
Oh my God, they killed Kenny!
@Jammer I'm not sure it is entirely aimed at kids anymore. What kid had nostalgia for the 90's Power Rangers etc from the last season and they've had Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction recently.
Not to mention the game itself is coming up 9 years old this year, so many of those kids who were playing aren't kids anymore
@Jammer Fortnite is aimed at people who are interested in Fortnite.
There have been "adult" skins for years. Pulp Fiction, John Wick, Alien, Predator, Kill Bill, various horror franchises... it's very much an all ages affair and has been for a long time.
@carlos82 If this isn't available as an emote/voice line, then I'm not sure what we're really doing here with this collab. Lol
It doesn't work if you have to heavily water down South Park (which you'll HAVE to)...
If its the kids in mechs it will be a wasted opportunity in my opinion. I dont like any of the mech suit characters like Morty, Bart and Lisa. The fun with weapons versions would make the most sense.
It going to be water down so ya fornite is for kids they are not going to have them cussing
Kenny will have the ability to respawn because of his mom's weird curse. He should always win every battle.
Missed a trick not having Randy (Stan's dad) as a skin, he's probably the best character in the show now (or at least run's Cartman close)
@Jammer I'd say half the stuff they put in Fortnite isn't for kids to be fair
Putting them in mech robots to work with the regular hitboxes makes sense lol. I was wondering how they would do it.

Today's South Park is something old South Park would have made fun of.
@JayJ couldn't be further from the truth. But I love it when fans think they know something better than its actual creators.
@naruball Whatever dude, they're sellouts now.
@carlos82 yeah, my friends daughter still plays it, and she's 20 now. That said, a lot of the franchises probably still mean nothing to her. I guess it doesn't matter to them as long as the skins look good.
And it might attract new people. I admit the Futurama one even grabbed my attention, until I tried and remembered that I really don't get on with Fortnite.
@JayJ sure, buddy.
