Selection has been good but definitely not worth $80 a year, I prefer to own my games and buy the 3-5 games per year that I find interesting for much cheaper.
@Nalim Agreed, this post update Sammy made out of a random Resetera comment is just coping HARD with what we can see with our own eyes, but now he blames ‘fans’ for overreacting, very ridiculous.
PS6 needs to be another PS3 at launch.
Do they really expect us to spend $800 on a anti-consumer platform in which Sony sets their prices with no competition, charges $80 a year to play online, and now won’t even have exclusives anymore?
At least Microsoft seems ready to open their platform to other storefronts but Sony won’t ever do it, they refuse to sell digital games outside of the PS Store even with them being sued for it, as another comment said earlier, Sony had a clear way to keep leading the market, and with this they’re just handing the ball back to Microsoft, who still has the chance to score with their console/PC hybrid which given today’s news looks more interesting than ever.
@GAUSSCA Also Microsoft has the “excuse” of turning multiplatform because of becoming too big after buying half the industry and training their audience to not buy games.
What’s Sony’s excuse here? Even with live-service failures they still repeatedly state each quarterly report this is their most financially successful platform ever and yet it’s not enough and we get less and less first-party, and only a couple of those (temporarily) exclusive.
@Questionable_Duck Last month’s goalpost was that Sony would never publish a game on Xbox and they did, and now the goalpost seems to be games will never be released day one on other platforms, not too long ago it was that tentpole games like TLoU or Spider-Man wouldn’t be ported to PC, amazing how denial works…
Been playing Hades 2 on Steam on Mac (yeah I know) and the Dualsense just works much better than the Xbox controller which is understandably better for Windows PCs.
Sorry but these articles are pathetic and show the hypocrisy of the author, if this is port begging then you have done the very same thing when Microsoft started to shift into being multiplatform…
@OldGamer999 Exploration wise there’s probably nothing better, nothing beats building a flying monobike and explore half the map lol, that’s the point of my previous comment, BOTW and TOKT are so praised because they innovated the genre and even you didn’t like those games specifically I’d bet all open-world games have been better off since, and perhaps games like Elden Ring or Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei wouldn’t be as good as they are or even exist without what BOTW did back in 2017, credit where credit is due.
@lazymike It’s just a different context, BOTW released more than 8 years ago and back then every open world game had tons of markers, it really was the first game of these type where exploration felt truly rewarding and every game since has learned from this or make it even better, including Ghost of Tsushima, if you don’t like double standards why do you complain that people praised that 8 years ago but ignore that both Ghost games have clearly learned from it?
Coming off from Death Stranding 2 it’s clear this game’s focus is not on graphics, I’m not sure why people get mad from others pointing it out, it looks very similar as Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut which is perfectly fine for me but nothing wrong in admitting there isn’t a ‘stunning’ leap here, visuals, structure, and gameplay all look very similar, and again, more Ghost is enough for me to want it as I loved the first game.
Also all the footage we’ve seen so far is from base PS5 so the Pro version is expectedly going to look better.
Honestly been thinking about replaying Part 2 for the third time after the meh Season 2, this is just a perfect excuse! One of my main criticisms from the game (and show) is the pacing, always wondered how it’d be playing both perspectives at the same time.
@Lowdefal Problem is Sammy behaves exactly like the people you describe, just look at the wording of the title compared to the actual poll result, people ain’t “divided”, only 1 of 4 hardcore fans who visit this website actually cares about that.
Some of the reactions from the Xbox fanboys are laughable and pitiful to say the least, it’s literally just a shortcut from the Xbox PC app to Steam games, the way Steam has allowed for ages, and some people are literally claiming “PS games are now on Xbox”, changing the goalpost constantly as Microsoft moves it too.
We’ve gone from “Series S will kill off Sony” to “buying Bethesda will spend them out of the market”, then “Activision is the key for Xbox competing” and now is “PCs with an Xbox sticker will destroy Sony”.
Payed for PS+ from 2015 to 2023, ever since the major price hike haven’t renewed even for the most basic tier, $80 a year for online play, cloud saves and some rented games isn’t a good enough value to me.
I found out with the first VR that it can give me severe motion sickness, in fact back then I only manage to beat the very first Astro Bot game and then I never used it again and sold it when I got my PS5.
Because of this I never even considered the VR2 but the tech always seemed impressive, however the Beat Saber news confirmed that this is indeed another PS Vita, impressive hardware with lots of potential that has been basically abandoned by Sony and slowly by third-party devs too, I don’t see a “VR3” ever happening.
It was the right call, launching in 3 months would’ve ended in another Concord, however I don’t know what they can realistically do to turn things around, maybe build a campaign around it but that’s at least another 2 years and millions of dollars of investment at minimum.
I can see a scenario where both this and Fairgames get cancelled definitely.
Nah I honestly don’t believe it, and I don’t think Vandal has that information, remember we didn’t find out about DOOM until people started receiving their physical copies, betting this is yet another 80mb disc.
Curious to hear what the Xbox fanboys who bet on Sony raising prices following Microsoft think right now…
And yes, eventually Sony may end up raising them but this shows there’s was no real urgency in doing so and Microsoft used tariffs as an excuse to raise them ASAP, it’s nice to have at least some deals in the current climate.
Very interesting to see at the same time Microsoft is raising prices significantly Sony is offering pretty good deals, even if temporary or they end up raising prices in a few months it’s very nice to have some discounts right now.
What a downgrade from the gorgeous looking DualShock 4 from the first game, this looks like a standard black controller with an DHL/UPS sticker slapped on it.
@Zazu Exactly this is what don’t make sense to me, or the last State of Play being very light on first-party content only to announce Astro Bot new content literally the day after.
I find it a bit worrying that Naughty Dog is focusing too much on having renowned actors for their next game, after both TLOU I kinda hoped they leaned more into the game itself rather than cinematics, they are (still) a game studio, not a TV/movie studio.
Sony can’t do much as it’s a decision made by the publisher, they wouldn’t want to enforce every game to be on disc and potentially delay games but they can be more transparent about it the same way Nintendo is being, you can see a game-key card from the cover art in any website, whereas for Doom TDA on PS5 there was ZERO indication anywhere until people started receiving their physical copies.
What I’m liking from the show is that decisions seem more logical, in the game there’s lots of convenient plot points to keep the story going the way it’s supposed to go and it gets irritating from the very beginning.
That being said tho, having played the game several times I cant shake the feeling I’m watching a play, I’m not nearly as engaged with the story and characters as I was while playing the game.
@CJD87 It absolutely is the best game of this generation so far and it was criminal it wasn’t even in the 2021 GOTY discussion, haven’t seen a game that uses the PS5 triggers in such a natural way, also best haptics I’ve seen in a game period, gameplay is just f***ing fantastic and I’m definitely doing some runs today to test this upgrade.

More like they bought most publishers that pump those games that would’ve been on the top list anyway aside from Forza Horizon 5.

Great game but a bit overrated tbh

Re: MindsEye Is Comfortably the Worst Reviewed PS5 Game of 2025
@edwinjoe450 I’m wondering how did Sony approve showing this at State of Play? Similar to “Abandoned” the game that never even existed.

Yet some comments here claim it was a good enough game for $60 lmao
