Wrapping up the loose ends in Dark souls 3 and getting towards the end of Suikoden II. Need to figure out what I'll be playing next

So close to being a great feature. Make the rectangles optional (at present we're forced to have three minimum) and allow the theme to be displayed on any tile, not just the welcome hub, and then we're laughing

@StitchJones Haha sometimes he gets a bit annoyed by it, but that's when we turn it off and take a break for a bit. But yeah turns out it's much more fun getting your ass kicked together than on your own

Dark souls 3. Been playing it through with my son, it's his first time playing it. Over the past year or so we've been gradually making our way through the trilogy and this morning we beat the final boss of the Ringed City DLC and then smashed the last boss of the main game proper, for good measure.

Video games get a bad rep from some corners, but in an era where so much is vying for my kids' attentions, it's good to be able to spend some quality time with them, just having a laugh playing games. This has easily been my favourite playthrough of one of my all-time favourite games.

"That's a great idea! Gathering more building materials will really help my village, and can be crafted into weapons too. Go to the far corners of the map and fetch as much as you can, and bring it back to me. Let me know if you need help identifying materials!"

Trying to be too much to too many people. It needs to go back to the likes of Modern Warfare and World at War (still my favourite entry) - just straight up, solid shooting in a warzone. But then, is that enough these days?

Ah yes, that time of year when I upgrade to Premium for a few quid, so I can play the three decent games they've added in the last twelve months.

I usually approach these things with a strategy to stop myself buying games that I won't touch untul they inevitably get cheaper or turn up on Plus.

So I'll shortlist two or three games that I'll grab if they get a decent reduction, and try to resist the rest. As others have said, it just adds needlessly to the backlog

I sort of feel like making GTA the headline detracts from the other games. In some ways it would feel like a better month if they hadn't made such a song and dance about it.

Fact is we're getting three quality games, and I see GTA V returning as a bonus

@StitchJones I don't disagree, and personally it wasn't on my radar as an event. Like you say though, different ball game over there. Western audiences have come to associate "State of Play" with big reveals (rightly or wrongly) so perhaps this should have been branded slightly differently, or maybe as a State of Play offshoot of some kind

I didn't see it personally. It seems to have caused a lot of disappointment. Maybe they shouldn't have branded it a State of Play, got too many people's hopes up. Perhaps it should've been something else

I wouldn't mind a look at that new Ueda project. Other than that, I'll take whatever's going

I'm not a massive fan of PS4 games getting remastered, but I'd go for this one. However the game still looks beautiful enough, I booted it up a couple of months back just to mess about in that world and it's incredible

Suikoden II and Sniper Elite as per usual, with a bit of Satisfactory, which my youngest has been playing this week and seems to be enjoying. I've not tried it yet, but I get the feeling I'm going to be terrible at it

@graymamba Fully agree, gives me more time to enjoy Nioh 3 and my backlog. Plus it no longer clashes with the World Cup

I'd play it again if it were given a lick of paint. But honestly my dream scenario would be for Bethesda and Obsidian to get their heads together for a new entry in the series (I know it's unlikely but we can dream)
