@get2sammyb "Shows how bad of a fit Bungie was for Sony IMO"
Maybe it shows how bad Sony are at putting their studios to use this gen. They could have read the room better and got them doing a quality single-player shooter along the lines of Destiny (although admittedly work on Marathon started before Concord bombed). This gen, Sony feels like a football manager who has lost the plot and is playing all his best players out of position. We can't keep blaming the devs
This possibly puts the failures of the Concords and the Highguards of the world in a slightly different light. Previously the accepted logic was that these titles weren't needed, as online gamers were catered for with Fortnite and other big hitters.
If even Fortnite isn't safe, then that would imply that the appetite for these games in general could be waning. If so, the likes of Concord never stood a chance
I mean, having seen a few clips of what passes for dialogue, it doesn't surprise me that the devs lack the ability to throw some art assets together. It does make me wonder how they managed to put such a wild world together. Not knocking the game as a whole btw, still plan to play it.
@Shepherd_Tallon If I'm remembering right, I missed a hot spring in the final area of the first region. It's only accessible by replaying the story mission that takes you there, as it's blocked on the world map. Just in case that helps!
Still gradually making my way through Nioh 3, I'm right at the end of the second region, fighting my way through "The Crucible", as it's known. Can't wait to battle Ronnie O'Sullivan
@Czar_Khastik Haha yeah I'd read that. Funnily enough I took my PS4 with me a few years ago when I was away, thought I'd start the Witcher 3 while I was there. Didn't realise the wifi wouldn't be working, amd played the first several hours unpatched. What an experience that was
Out enjoying the weather today but tomorrow morning I'll be sitting down for a proper Nioh 3 session. Hardly had time to touch it this week, so looking forward to that
@Vertere So have they actually confirmed that's the metric/thinking behind the targeting? Because I've not really seen anything confirmed anywhere. All I've seen is that it's "random", which I'm not buying (no pun intended)
Call me stupid but I'm still not 100% sure how it works. Is it genuinely just random whether you see a different price? I find it hard to believe there isn't some sort of metric guiding it
@GirlVersusGame Brilliant. I had the special editions of 3 and New Vegas, but I sold Vegas a few years back when I was hard up for a few quid. It was the edition with the chips, and the mini graphic novel. I'd buy it back in an instant now.
Luckily I couldn't bear to part with my Fallout 3 lunchbox, complete with Bobblehead, and I've still got them to this day. Possibly my favourite gaming franchise.
I'm in the second region of Nioh 3 and the game is getting noticably tougher. My response? Imbue the tonfa with paralysis and stunlock everyone into submission. Ha.
This reminds me of the days when my grandad would take me out hunting, when I was juat a wee nipper. He would strip to the waist and put his body paint on, and I'd know it was time to kill a deer.
He was getting quite confused by that stage, god bless him.
Not sure how I feel about this new trend of re-release packages which are essentially just multiple versions of the same game. Rayman did a similar thing recently. Is it supposed to represent value?
I think the issue is that Sony doesn't know what 'the right direction' is at present. They seem locked in an internal struggle between chasing the live service dream, and trying to produce "unforgettable experiences" as he meaninglessly puts it.
They are giving off all the signs of a confused company at odds with itself. At this point, it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if Sony put Naughty Dog to work for five years on remaking Bluepoint's abandoned GoW game.
@GamingGod Yep. I could have easily waited until the clamour to get a PS5 had died down, but DS was an out-and-out system seller for me. And it only hinted at the possibilities for Bluepoint and the PS5. I feel like Sony has pulled the rug from under me with this move.
Ridiculous. Sony is sitting on an absolute mountain of IPs they could resurrect with Bluepoint's help (get them to work on a new entry if they don't want to do another remaster), but they can't see it because of their greedy fixation on online multiplayer tat.
This unfortunately sums up the PS5 generation for me - Sony has forgotten what it's good at and where its strengths lie. The bitterest irony of all? Demon's Souls was a glorious graphical showcase that made me go in early on the PS5 in the first place, as I suspect it did many others.
Disgusting mismanagement. I try to stay fairly level-headed with my comments on here as much as I can, but heads should roll for this.
@Axelay71 Yeah not sure what my exact cut off point is, but it's probably around the 30 quid mark. Not paying more than that without having a game in my actual hands
The console is a while off yet, so things may have changed by then. I like having the choice; smaller indies and sales I'll go digital, but for the big releases I like to go out and actually buy the disc. I enjoy the ritual. Sounds odd but some people will know what I mean
The combat is balletic. It's a ten from me so far, although I'm not too far in. Taking my time amd enjoying it.
Enemy variety has been an issue with the Nioh series in the past, so that could dilute my score down to an eight or nine, we'll see. Early days though and it's incredible so far.
My guess is they've tacked on a multiplayer horde mode and been vague about the nature of it to shift a few more copies.
As much as certain quarters like to think gamers are "entitled babies" etc (insert your own copy-paste internet insult here), when this many people are fooled, there's usually something up

Re: If You're Playing Final Fantasy Games on PS5, There's a Good Chance You're Old
I've heard they're targeting the ageing audience with their new game about overcoming problems with a bad back. It's called Spinal Fantasy.
Re: Dev Pledges to Make Crimson Desert 'Even More Enjoyable' as It Sells Over 3 Million Copies in First Week
I've got to play this game just out of curiosity. I'm kind of glad my backlog has stopped me from getting it straight away though

@Shepherd_Tallon Haha no worries, let me know how you get on
Re: PSN Down as PS5, PS4 Players Report Offline Issues
Mine's being weird. I'll occasionally drop offline, but multiplayer will still work if I use an invite code rather than direct matchmaking
Re: Going Platinum: Return of the Obra Dinn on PS4, One of the Best Games with One of the Worst Trophies
This game has been on my wishlist since wishlists became a thing. I'll buy it eventually, probably in the summer

If any one of Ayoade, Offerman or Berry is playing Metal Sonic, I'd probably go and watch it

@Czar_Khastik I might start a petition for you to write Push Square's Crimson Desert review. That'd liven things up
Re: Crimson Desert's Mixed Reviews See Dev's Share Price Drop Almost 30%
Still a wait and see for me. Feels like an AA with a AAA budget (which sounds like an insult, but it's not)
@Czar_Khastik this comment has caused almost as much carnage in here as the game itself

Re: Starfield Finally Lands on PS5 in April with New DLC and Huge Updates
I'm interested but it's not at the top of my list. Problem is, I can't see a time when it will be.
I'll probably stick it on the wishlist and wait for the first decent sale price
Re: Sekiro Anime Looks Absolutely Stunning in New Trailer
Looks good, I might even be able to get past the name Crunchyroll for this

I can see myself getting this in a few weeks if it reviews well. Might as well wait for any patches etc while I finish Nioh 3

@CKFilms 100%. Fallout 3 remaster to drop with season 1 of the show, and NV to drop with season 2. Seems like a no-brainer

I'm holding off a new playthrough of these games in the hope these remasters are real. Not played them for years

I'd really appreciate a Myst/Riven remake double pack, not sure why they'd only bring the second game over
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 621
More Nioh 3. Still exploring the first region (I assume there are more regions anyway...?)
Taking my time and loving every minute
