I've never played an Ace Combat game before, but this might be where I get on board. It's been on my radar for a while and I'd like to give it a try, even if I'll probably be winging it at first.
This weekend is all about the Nioh 3 demo for me. Glad I played a little bit of Nioh 2 last weekend to refresh my memory - there's a lot to take in.
Really enjoying what I played of it last night. Once you get into the swing of when to switch between ninja and samurai styles, you can absolutely lay waste to enemies. It feels very satisfying to play.
The first boss will put some people off. It's less of a skill check, and more of a check that you've taken in what you've been shown so far. And you've been shown a lot.
The other thing that may put people off is the loot system, which is as ridiculous as ever. My advice? Find something you feel good using and bin everything else, don't worry about it. Something else will come along in a minute anyway!
@Quintumply Thanks for the review, I'm looking forward to this one. How long did it take you to beat, roughly?
I know you said it's one to play at your own pace, so individual mileage may vary. I'm just trying to work out if I can squeeze it in before I play Nioh 3, but I don't want to rush it.
Yeah, had my eye on Art of Rally and I'll get to Resi eventually. Also I've been curious to play The Exit 8 for ages, but not curious enough to cough up the 20p or whatever they were charging for it. What can I say, I'm a cheapskate
For me, what makes Bloodborne so special is that it stands alone. It was a one-off and we're only given hints at the wider world and lore. A lot is left unsaid, and that's what makes it great.
I would of course abandon this stance if a sequel were announced, and buy it on day one.
Really enjoyed grinding my way to level 30 in Fallout 4, so I'd be at the right level to start the Nuka World DLC. Now I'm there, I weirdly feel like I can't be bothered with it.
I'll probably push on a bit longer and see if it grabs me. But it focuses on raider factions, and the raiders have always been the least interesting antagonists for me.
Yeah this was a fun platinum. There was one trophy for discovering all the car parks in Paradise City, that took me ages. I couldn't figure out which one I hadn't found, so I ended up driving round all the car parks constantly, like some sort of dogging enthusiast
Fallout is possibly my favourite franchise. Can't wait, especially if the add-ons are included. Never got around to New Vegas' DLCs, and I've heard great things.
Ironically by the time Fallout 5 rolls around, we'll probably be in a nuclear winter.
Probably a bit of Fallout 4 until I can work up the energy to carry on with Divinity 2, which I started over the holidays but was too busy to properly get into
Playing Croc (the time trials are weirdly addictive) and I've tentatively started Divinity: Original Sin II. Not usually my kind of game but I'm going for it.
Given these are the highest prices, then I would only have saved that amount if I was a total and utter buffoon.
It goes beyond the monetary saving though. I get great value out of PS Plus, sure, but it also encourages me to play games I might have missed, or not got around to.

Re: Nioh 3 (PS5) - Superb Action Fronts a New Team Ninja Gem
@GuttyYZ Nope, you're spot on. They came out and said they weren't taking the series any further, or words to that effect.
They've not said what changed their minds. Maybe they just needed a hit
Re: Nioh 3 (PS5) - Superb Action Fronts a New Team Ninja Gem
Got the steelbook coming at weekend, but work is going to prevent me from really getting stuck in until the week after. Can't wait

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 617
Hoping to wrap up Cocoon this weekend. This game has really surprised me, it's a superb puzzler
Re: Prepare Yourself for Nioh 3 with This 17-Minute PS5 Gameplay Video
@Oram77 I've got that steelbook pre-ordered on Amazon. It's the same price as the regular digital edition, which seems crazy.
I get that digital editions are convenient for some, but that's a no-brainer in my eyes
Re: PS Plus Loses These 8 Games in February 2026
I need to finish Cult of the Lamb pronto (or buy it)
Re: It's Not Just Fans Who Are Fed Up with Waiting for The Elder Scrolls 6
There are teenage gaming fans out there, who haven't seen a new Elder Scrolls game released in their lifetime.
The oldest among them will be 14. That's not too far off how old I was when Skyrim came out. I can't get my head around it.
Re: Going Platinum #8: Donut County
Yeah same here, I wonder how many people played this and didn't platinum it? I seem to remember it being an easy one.
You should have a "Worst Trophy" award for each game, where possible. Most games have got that one evil trophy
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for January 2026?

Might start Cocoon, with a bit of Outer Wilds in the background

This is nifty, which team member came up with this?
Or is it a joint effort? If so, whoever is in charge of updating the Essential section definitely got an easy ride

Re: Here's Your First Look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft for Amazon's TV Show
They could have used a better background lol. Looks like the backdrop they used to make you stand in front of for school photos
EDIT looking at it again, it looks like the low-res caves from the first level of the original game. I've changed my mind, it's perfect
Re: Amazon's God of War TV Series Casts Its Kratos, Story Setup Revealed
Regardless of who plays him, the character of Kratos is going to need fleshing out a bit. He was hard work after a while (sorry Kratos fans)
Re: 9 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for January 2026 Announced
The Resident Evil series has become my gaming guilty conscience. I've still not played VII and I need to get caught up
Art of Rally is also one I've had my eye on

No Shinobi! Other than that, a solid list, although I think next year's will be better
