Re: PS5 Players Seemingly Skip Marathon as Sales Estimates Look Very Weak

Gremio108

@get2sammyb "Shows how bad of a fit Bungie was for Sony IMO"

Maybe it shows how bad Sony are at putting their studios to use this gen. They could have read the room better and got them doing a quality single-player shooter along the lines of Destiny (although admittedly work on Marathon started before Concord bombed). This gen, Sony feels like a football manager who has lost the plot and is playing all his best players out of position. We can't keep blaming the devs

Re: 'We're Spending Significantly More than We're Making': Fortnite Publisher Epic Games Lays Off Over 1,000 Staff

This possibly puts the failures of the Concords and the Highguards of the world in a slightly different light. Previously the accepted logic was that these titles weren't needed, as online gamers were catered for with Fortnite and other big hitters.

If even Fortnite isn't safe, then that would imply that the appetite for these games in general could be waning. If so, the likes of Concord never stood a chance

Re: Fallout 3 PS5 Is Fast Becoming One of the Worst Kept Secrets in Gaming

Gremio108

@GirlVersusGame Brilliant. I had the special editions of 3 and New Vegas, but I sold Vegas a few years back when I was hard up for a few quid. It was the edition with the chips, and the mini graphic novel. I'd buy it back in an instant now.

Luckily I couldn't bear to part with my Fallout 3 lunchbox, complete with Bobblehead, and I've still got them to this day. Possibly my favourite gaming franchise.

Re: Going Platinum #14: Concrete Genie

I really enjoyed this game, I don't remember any painful trophies off the top of my head.

I do remember struggling for a while to find one of the collectibles, but my platinum trophy says I must have found it in the end

Re: Here's Your First Look at the God of War TV Show

This reminds me of the days when my grandad would take me out hunting, when I was juat a wee nipper. He would strip to the waist and put his body paint on, and I'd know it was time to kill a deer.

He was getting quite confused by that stage, god bless him.

Re: 'I'm Confident in the Direction We're Headed': Under-Fire PlayStation Boss Tries to Explain Baffling Bluepoint Closure

Gremio108

I think the issue is that Sony doesn't know what 'the right direction' is at present. They seem locked in an internal struggle between chasing the live service dream, and trying to produce "unforgettable experiences" as he meaninglessly puts it.

They are giving off all the signs of a confused company at odds with itself. At this point, it genuinely wouldn't surprise me if Sony put Naughty Dog to work for five years on remaking Bluepoint's abandoned GoW game.

Re: Sony Makes Shocking Decision to Shut Down Bluepoint Games

Gremio108

Ridiculous. Sony is sitting on an absolute mountain of IPs they could resurrect with Bluepoint's help (get them to work on a new entry if they don't want to do another remaster), but they can't see it because of their greedy fixation on online multiplayer tat.

This unfortunately sums up the PS5 generation for me - Sony has forgotten what it's good at and where its strengths lie. The bitterest irony of all? Demon's Souls was a glorious graphical showcase that made me go in early on the PS5 in the first place, as I suspect it did many others.

Disgusting mismanagement. I try to stay fairly level-headed with my comments on here as much as I can, but heads should roll for this.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Nioh 3?

Gremio108

The combat is balletic. It's a ten from me so far, although I'm not too far in. Taking my time amd enjoying it.

Enemy variety has been an issue with the Nioh series in the past, so that could dilute my score down to an eight or nine, we'll see. Early days though and it's incredible so far.
