'I Think So': God of War Actor Hints at the Return of Sex Minigames in Remake 1

Kratos’ original voice actor TC Carson has hinted that God of War’s controversial sex minigames may return in Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming PS5 remake.

This has been a big topic of conversation ever since the new versions were announced, as they were considered a little cringey even upon release, and may seem even more so in the 2020s.

For those who don’t know, all three of the Greek trilogy games include sex minigames, where Kratos engages in a spot of rumpy-pumpy with various women, including even Aphrodite in God of War 3.

The games will often frame these sequences amusingly, showing a pot rocking on a table or – in the case of the aforementioned – two nearby women watching and remarking on Kratos’ performance.

While the material makes sense in the notoriously promiscuous Greek era, it is all a bit silly. There’s been an ongoing debate about whether the sequences will make their way into the modern reimaginings.

Well, while actor TC Carson sure hasn’t confirmed anything, he has given us our biggest hint yet.

Asked by IGN about whether the minigames will return, he said: “You know what, all you dudes, all you men… I think so.”

The interviewer remarked “breaking news” but TC Carson reiterated, “I said I think so.” So it’s a bit of a non-answer, but it suggests they’ll return.

If that’s the case, it’s going to be interesting to see how tonally Santa Monica Studio tweaks these. They were pretty immature even in their original guise, so perhaps there’s a way of keeping these without going full-on edgelord.

Then again, that’s pretty much the vibe of all the original God of War games, so the dev is going to have to walk a fine line here. If it changes too much, then we think fans are going to be disappointed; if it keeps things the same, the games are going to feel like a relic.

In a recent Push Square poll, a whopping 70% of you said you’d retain the original sex minigames as they originally were. So clearly, there’s very little appetite to have these sequences removed.
