GTA 6 PS5

It's not even been 48 hours since the hardcore GTA community convinced itself Rockstar would be releasing the third GTA 6 trailer and setting pre-orders live, and already it's moved on to a new theory. The evidence attached to this new one is at least slightly more convincing, but still, it cannot be healthy to hype yourself up so often only for it to end in disappointment every time.

This time around, the evidence of new GTA 6 updates stems from Best Buy. People signed up to the store's affiliate program report that they've received an email notifying them of when GTA 6 pre-order affiliate links will be available.

Affiliate links grant the person a small percentage of the money from any purchases made via that link.

It's suggested the GTA 6 "campaign" will be live from 18th May 2026 to 21st May 2026. For these affiliate links to work, GTA 6 pre-orders, of course, need to be live in the first place.

The email from Best Buy itself is real, as multiple people online have received it and have uploaded video evidence. The question is, then: is this actually the plan Rockstar is following, or is it another false alert? The fact it comes from an official retail outlet lends it a lot of weight, and is at least far more believable than the PS Store not having any discount promotions at the time.

18th May is next Monday, so some fans now think we could get GTA 6's Trailer 3 either today or tomorrow so there's a small bit of breathing room between the footage and the ability to pre-order the game. The affiliate links are also for a physical version, which would debunk claims from the past of Rockstar delaying boxed copies past the digital launch.

Once again, all we can really do is wait and see what happens. Rockstar will have to show more of the game and make it available for pre-order on the PS Store at some point.
