Really hope it actually does launch this year. Right now it's at the top of my most-wanted list with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

So stupid. Just like censorship of sexuality. If the game is rated M (or the equivalent depending on territory), then there should be no censorship, period.

On PS5, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. NG 2 is still one of the best action games ever made. And on Switch I'm playing Donkey Kong Country Returns HD.

Usually I would wait for a physical copy but the urge to play this game again was too much, decided to download it. Will get NG 4 on disc if possible, though.

For now anyway, which I guess isn't surprising since it is a remaster of a game from summer 2008. Hopefully if there's enough interest a physical release could happen in the future maybe around the time 4 comes out.

I can understand $50 being too steep for some, but this is one of my favorite action games ever, got no problem paying that to have it on PS5.

I saw on social media that it'll be on PS5.

I'm hyped to see this series back. Given Platinum's recent track record, this could go bad but I'm happy Koei Tecmo is trying at least one more time and if Platinum does rediscover its magic, this will be one of the best games of the year.

I had a feeling it wasn't exclusive to Xbox. Given how that audience usually reacts to Japanese games, it needs PS5. And, frankly, Switch 2 if it can handle the game.

I hope they give an option to keep the 30th anniversary stuff. At least the sounds.

Considering the IP and the fact it was released on multiple platforms, no that number is a joke. People laughed at sales numbers for both Astro Bot and Stellar Blade, which only released on one console. They each had similar sales to DAV and neither have the legacy.

It's an awesome game, definitely say up there with some of Nintendo's best. The Super Mario series is still top of the genre but Astro Bot is a very close second, Rescue Mission, Play Room and last year's game are all awesome.

Heck of a career for the guy and he really cashed in when he sold Insomniac to Sony.

Can't get too hyped given the dev team's past games. Really wish Capcom would get off the pot, take a break from Resident Evil, and give us that Dino Crisis remake.

Pretty much confirms what we all knew. Had to double down on PS4. I don't regret buying a Vita, though. Has some of my favorite games of all-time and was the place for indies until Switch arrived.

Agree again. I'd love some legit crossover games. A brand new Capcom vs. SNK or something like Tekken vs. Virtua Fighter would be awesome. Much better than wasting limited roster slots in specific games on nonsensical guest characters.

Agree. I'm not a fan of guest characters in these classic franchises when there are ones from previous entries missing in the current game. Don't like that Tekken is also doing this.

At this point, the only reason to own an Xbox is backwards compatibility. Have owned every Xbox but not sure if I'll buy the successor to the Series X.

I don't care which console outsells the other, I just hope this year is a better one for games than 2024. There some gems last year but overall it was pretty meh across all platforms. I would've called it a bad year had Astro Bot and Indiana Jones not come through at the last minute to salvage things.

In fairness this doesn't sound like a Ubisoft problem (and I'm not one to jump to that company's defense). It has ties to the studio, but so do Sony, MS and I'm guessing others.

Love Zero Dawn, one of my top 10 PS4 games and, possibly my favorite new IP of that gen. On the other hand, Forbidden West is one of the biggest disappointments for me this gen but it still sold well and seemed mostly well received. I don't blame Sony for pushing the IP a lot but at this point, I'm not really excited about more movie adaptations of video games beyond Sonic and Mario.

Exactly. None of these companies are interested in what gamers have to say pre or post-launch and anything negative just labeled as people being some sort of istaphobe. There's no point in surveys because suggestions are never taken seriously and, to be fair, I think there's a lot of gamers who are no longer concerned with giving real constructive answers. Dev teams just need to figure stuff out on their own.

Tencent is poison but this is way over the top.

They definitely deserve it.

PS5 - Astro Bot, Stellar Blade, Ninja Gaiden Master Collection and recently have gotten back into Dead or Alive 5 Last Round.

That's a pretty convincing win and Astro Bot definitely deserves it.
My top 5 across all consoles are Astro Bot, Stellar Balde, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Tekken 8.

I'd love to be able to play PS3 games on PS5 without having to stream them but it doesn't seem feasible, even with rumors like this that pop up every so often. As long as future PS consoles (however many more gens it lasts) have a disc drive and I can play my games from PS4 on up, that's all that matters. Sony dropped the ball on backwards compatibility a bit in the PS3 era so I don't expect good bc support for games prior to the PS4.

Definitely my favorite Game of the Year. Just pure fun from beginning to end.

Well, if they're going to keep trying, I'd like to see them attempt Twisted Metal. If handled with the proper care, it could work as a live service game. The problem is, given recent history I'm not sure I trust one of Sony's teams to do this the right way.

Gotta go with Team Asobi.

I'd honestly put Astro Bot up there with Nintendo's best platformers. Be interested to know what you think when you get around to it.

Surprised Astro Bot isn't a little higher but good list overall. Three of the games here easily make my top 5 as well.

Definitely a top 3. I'm not usually big on games with turn-based combat but Like a Dragon gets it right.

As far as current gen fighting games, King of Fighters XV, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 have been my go-to ones. Interested to see if the new Fatal Fury can work its way into the rotation. I love some of the previous entries but also didn't click at all with a few.

'Not Call of Duty numbers, this is a fail.' Seems to be what the suits at SE say every time.

Even if it was multiplat, the game wouldn't have hit the numbers SE wanted for it to be considered a massive success. The suits at that company think every game has to sell like Call of Duty.

Definitely deserving of a spot in the top 5, I'd probably have it in my top 3. Don't usually care for Soulslike combat but had fun with this game.

Just means not enough PushSquare writers enjoyed the game as much as the 10 that did make the list. It's the only big game from this year I haven't played yet but it seems pretty cool, definitely one I'll get to eventually.

I'd probably go with LaD: Infinite Wealth as well. Generic as it is, I did enjoy Stellar Blade's story, too.

Good to see. Astro Bot is easily one of the best games this gen.

I'm conflicted over this. On the one hand, Sega is my all-time favorite video game company, so anything it does will pique my interest. That said, I'm already subbed to PS Plus Premium, NSO + Expansion Pack and Game Pass Ultimate. If I'm going to sub to others, it has to be worth it.

Something Sega could do to entice me is offer a piece of hardware that's capable of, at minimum, 4K, 60 fps, where I can get all its games, past, present and future.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on the Xbox side and on the PlayStation side I bought the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection in the recent sale, so I'll be going through those games again.

Stellar Blade. Only disappointment I had with the game is that I don't love how close the gameplay is to a From Soft game. Wish it had been more along the lines of Bayonetta but other than that, no complaints.

I have no doubt the game will be fun to play, I just hope it has good single player offerings.

Hope this will lead to more sales for the game. It's one of the few current-gen only releases I'd say is an absolute must-play.
