Re: More Than Half of PlayStation's Investment Could Be in Live Service Games by 2025

F1at8mot0

I bought a PS5 for Gran Turismo 7 and the new Horizon. And I’ve been disappointed by both. I bought a new Xbox to play Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite. And was disappointed by both. So then I decided to go back to my switch and got Hades and Metroid Dread. And it was there that I discovered that good video games that are just about fun and mechanics and are actual video games still exist. This new generation of consoles has been nothing but a disappointment so far. I’m sure other things will come out that I will have interest in and have fun with. But right now I just want to play videos games. I know where I can find them.

Re: More PS1, PSP Games Launching on PS Plus Premium Revealed

F1at8mot0

I’m going to stay far away from this service until it’s had time to be out in the wild for like six months. I’ll just stick with the base ps plus I already have and Game Pass for now. None of this stuff they have announced sounds remotely worth what they want us to pay for it.

Still playing and loving the heck out of Metroid Dread. I think I’m getting near the end. I’m going to be sad when that one’s over. And as always I’m still trying to escape from Hades. But that just a here and there game. On PS5 I’m still going back to and forcing myself to play Horizon FW. I’m still not sucked into it like I was the first, but it is getting better. And when I’m in the mood for some mindless shooting I’m playing through the Modern Warfare Remaster campaign. It’s just big dumb fun. Have a great weekend!

This weekend I’m on the road for work. So I have my Switch in tow. I purchased Metroid Dread for the trip. I’m completely sucked into it. It’s my favorite game I’ve played this year! Also on Switch when I need a break from Metroid I’m still trying to escape Hades. That’s such a great handheld game. Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 425

@PenguinLtd that’s how I’m feeling with the game. I took a breaks from it for a while and played some smaller things. I picked it back up last week and have put another five levels and a few hours into it. And I feel like I’m having to force myself to play it. Where as with Zero Dawn it’s all I thought about even when I wasn’t playing. I’m going to give it a couple more hours and if it’s not grabbing me I think I’ll be done with it. It is a great game as far as quality goes. It looks incredible but I think for me I got everything I needed from this world in the first game. I’m worried I’m going to feel this way about all of Sony’s upcoming sequels. We will see.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 422

This weekend I’m taking a break from the big games. On Switch I’m trying my best to escape Hades. And on PS5 I’m replaying Yoku’s Island Express for the 3rd time. To put it like Jeff Gerstmen from Giant Bomb “it should be illegal how good that game is!” Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: New PS Plus Memberships: All Three Tiers Explained

F1at8mot0

I’m not going to get yet another service. I have Plus now and that is fine. I pay for Game Pass already and just added the more expensive Nintendo switch online service. So I’m good on games. I’ll play a few big games a year in PlayStation and I’ll pay for them outright and that will be fine.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 419

On Xbox One X I’m actually replaying Half-life 2 on the Orange Box. I haven’t played it since it came out in the original Xbox. It’s still an amazing game. I forgot how much it just grabs you and pulls you through it’s world. On PS5 I’m still working almost daily on Gran Turismo 7. I finished the Cafe mode. It was a great way get into the flow of the game. Now I think it’s time to jump into more online racing. Have a great weekend!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 418

F1at8mot0

@lolwhatno on PS5 at 60fps it’s great! I’ve enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I like it bc it really flows from one quest to the next. I almost never do anything other than the suggested quest. So it’s got a really fun flowing progression. And I actually like the story and characters quite a bit.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 417

GT7 for PS5 has taken over my game time. And will pretty much be a staple game for the rest of the year and beyond. But when I need a break I’m still trying to work my way through the latter parts of Days Gone on PS5. I keep being surprised at how much I enjoy this game. It’s just sad that Sony sent it out to die and we will never get a sequel. Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Update 1.05 Released, Here Are the Patch Notes

F1at8mot0

I’ve been playing Days gone. Which feels so good to play. I purchased HFB and started it. And the control and feel of the game felt so bad I just quit. I don’t remember the first game feeling that bad to control. This was before the patch though so hopefully this helps. Bc I found it unplayable. I really want to play this game but only it doesn’t feel like that.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Horizon Forbidden West?

F1at8mot0

I’ll play it eventually. I Platinum’d the first one and absolutely loved it. But for some reason I’m just not excited about this sequel. I pick it up at some point down the line when it’s on sale. I’m sure it’s great but I don’t really feel like I needed more of that world and story. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 411

F1at8mot0

I finally decided to restart Days Gone on PS5. I really didn’t like this game when I first tried it on PS4. But man this time with the PS5 patch running at 60fps, I totally get it now and I’m completely sucked in. It’s the exact kind of slow going open word exploration I’m looking for right now I guess. I’m also still working my way through Miles Morales. I can’t play that one for long stints. It only hold my attention for a couple of mission then I have to move on. But it is a great game. I’ll eventually get though it. Man does it look good on PS5. Have a great weekend!

Re: Poll: Does Sony Need to Take Action After Microsoft's Activision Buyout?

F1at8mot0

Let’s all take a second and let the dust settle. Everyone will have great games. And the kinds of games most people come to PlayStation for are still going to be here. I want to see the PS+ overhaul be something really cool. But either way I’m still pumped to have a PS5. And I’m excited to see what the next five years has in store for all the consoles. Happy gaming!

Re: Horizon Zero Dawn: Full Story Recap

F1at8mot0

That was great! Thank you! I was just thinking about doing a new game plus run, just through the story. Now I think I’ll hold off until the new game comes out. I did pop back into the game the other day on PS5 just to see what 60fps and better resolution looked like. Turns out it looked amazing and now I’m even more excited for the new game.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 409

F1at8mot0

This weekend will be the continuation of trying out every game I have with a PS5 patch or upgrade. Now that I have the new system, I can’t stay on one game. I just want to see what they all look like. The stuff I have put a bit of time into is Dirt 5 and Miles Morales. What a great machine! Have a great weekend!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 407

F1at8mot0

@Cyrus29 I’m having the same reaction to it. I’m like six missions in and I don’t know if I’m going to go back to it. It’s fun to play but it’s just not what I go to Halo for. I’m glad I got it on game pass. If I’d payed full price for I’d be upset. I think I’ll go replay ODST or Combat Evolved again.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 406

F1at8mot0

Halo infinite on XB One X. It’s a good game. And it even looks great on that system. But I’m not hopelessly pulled into like I’ve been with every other Halos. I’m not sure I’m going to renew gamepass to keep playing it. I bounced off of Forza Horizon 5 as well. The problems is I’m not jazzed about anything on PlayStation either at the moment. I think it’s time to just catch up on some reading for a while. Have a great weekend!

Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year 2021?

F1at8mot0

Honestly I don’t really feel like this has been a particularly strong year. Nothing has really grabbed my attention. I liked Guardians of the Galaxy and a couple others. I didn’t get my hands on a PS5 this year but I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything. Next year is looking to be a great year. But it is a lot if of sequels. Even though they look amazing it would be cool to see some more new. Hopefully some cool stuff will be announced at the game awards and maybe E3 next year. In the meantime I’ll keep enjoying the games I have a working on the old backlog. There’s always something to play.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Thankful for in Gaming?

F1at8mot0

From the first time I ever moved the ship side to side on a screen on a Galaga Cabinet in the arcades in the early 80’s, I was hooked for life. It was like magic that I could interact with a thing on a screen. I went from a Commodore 64 to NES, Game Boy, SNES, PS1, Virtual Boy, N64, Dreamcast, GBA, Xbox, Wii, PSP, PS3, XB360, Vita, PS4, 3DS, Switch, Xbox One X and now I’m hunting for a PS5. Gaming has gotten me through some very tough times. And has also been part of making some lifelong friendships. It’s always been there for me and has taken me on some incredible journeys. I’m thankful to my uncle who put that first quarter in that Galaga machine and changed things for me forever. I’ve grown up with games and they have grown up with me. But every time I sit down to play it’s it’s still just as amazing to me as it was in 1984.

Re: Best PS4 Graphics

F1at8mot0

Those are all great games and all look amazing. I’d say the one the speaks to my eye the most was Resident Evil 2 and God of War. Even on base PS4 all these looked good.

Re: Feature: PS5 Report Card - How Is It After One Year?

F1at8mot0

I want a PS5, it seams like a great upgrade over the PS4, but I don’t see anything that’s worth the hassle of trying to get one as of yet. I’m kind of getting fatigued by the Sony formula. They make incredible games and I have loved all of them I’ve played on PS4. However, right now all that has been announced is just more of the same. I’m super excited for Gran Turismo 5 but that’s about it. I think I’m just going to wait and see what else comes along and maybe pick one up in a year or so. There’s just not enough to justify it. That’s just my opinion.
