@Roswell75 it will for sure bud, early impressions I’ve read say it’s a rock solid 60fps framerate on the base machine, think it even has some RT features implemented into it by default.

Will be trying to get hours of this in on the Series X inbetween Clair Obscur and a DS1 replay.

Would you say the exploration style levels get boring after a while or are they sparingly used/have enough diversity from one another to still feel fresh throughout the campaign?

Love this, been waiting so long for this, the sequel to probably my favourite game ever made, give me all the hours possible!

Control itself was made on a shoestring budget so I’ll be there day one.

Remedy are one of the best developers around and I’ll always support their work, masters of creativity.

On act 3 now mopping up side content and so far there’s been no flaws, 10/10 as things stand.

That’s £19.49 too expensive for Forspoken imo.

Tried it once during the demo before it launched and again when it was available on PS Extra, and even as someone who has more patience than most (having played and enjoyed the likes of Avatar FoP and Anthem which are both pretty unloved games). This was without a doubt the worst game I’d played since the shovelware era of the Nintendo Wii. The most bland and uninspired story with cringe characters to boot, and on top of that a floaty awful feeling movement system, with a boring open world and bullet sponge spell combat.

I’ll never get those 3 hours of my life back, but I can spread the message, no matter what price Forspoken is; it will NEVER be worth the cost it’ll have on your mental health.

We will be there, GTA 6 will play best on PS5 Pro.

@LifeGirl I gotta disagree tbh, the trailer seems a hell of a lot more grounded than V, still nowhere near the masterpiece that is IV, but it seems like they’re balancing zany characters with a more serious plot and I’m very much down for that after the burnout of V in the years since it’s release on repeat playthroughs.

Not tough at all, Clair Obscur by a landslide, GOTY front runner for now.

Laughing my ass off but at least this means I can fully enjoy the great games releasing this year to their fullest.

I smell a GOTY battle between Clair Obscur, KCD2, Split Fiction and DS2 and I’m so hyped for it.

Can’t say whether it’s viable but Sony just waiting till 2026 to raise console prices will move so many units IF GTA6 is still coming this year.

The fact the Series S is nearly 400 USD and the Series X 2TB glitter edition is more than a Pro is insanity, Sony have already doubled down on their big games this year being £70 so I wonder if it’s possible.

Crazy to think my Series X is now worth more than I paid all those years ago lmao.

Doom via Gamepass on my Series X and DS2 Digital Deluxe edition (yes I’m part of the problem, no I don’t wanna be spoilt for my most anticipated game ever) for me over the next two months!

Nintendo and Trump ruining gaming wasn’t on my bingo card for this year but here we are.

Luckily I can still afford to have gaming as an interest due to my income but this is just awful for the consumer, consoles are meant to be the entrance point for players, and now they’re continuing to price people out, don’t be surprised if the PS6 and Xbox 2027/28 console end up costing near £900.

At that point I may just cut the safety rope and fully integrate into PC gaming.

This looks MUCH better than BL3, love that they’re returning to a more grounded tone and no more awful “streamer villains” in this game.

Looks far better than Marathon in terms of its mechanics and how they’re implemented, but man I miss the original version of this game when it was revealed.

Amazing how this is made by a team of all ex Ubisoft devs, just shows that it ain’t the devs that are the problem but the ghoulish higher ups who demand another battle royale game.

Over 13 hours into Clair Obscur and despite hating the end of act 1 I’m still enjoying the world and combat enough to keep going, beautifully made game, showing up the big devs for sure!

Why remove your own published games? Just screams of FOMO practices and is down right scummy.

Man I miss when consoles went DOWN in price near the end of the generation.

Don’t want the game to fail or anything but lots of the design choices are awful.

Everything you earn bar paid for cosmetics are wiped every season? So where’s the point in grinding.

An extraction shooter where you barely face real players, (according to multiple previews) pass.

Activities within the map that are DESTINY PATROL ACTIVITES??? (Source: SkillUp), another pass.

No proximity chat in an EXTRACTION shooter? Another pass.

And finally only 3 maps at launch, when the game has been in development for 4 years is laughable.

Hard pass for me which is a shame as I adore the art, music and world building going on here (which also hasn’t even been written yet according to SkillUp, another great sign!)

No sympathy; you revealed the game years too early and released a major disappointment in Spider-Man 2. Do better.

SM2 left such a sour taste in my mouth I may even wait for reviews before I even put any effort into caring for this.

No buy till the OLED model comes out, no excuse to be using “LCD” panels in 2025.

Most people I talk to who love the games even say they’re pretty bad, I totally get it inspired some great games like Yakuza, but that doesn’t mean it should even break the top 10!

@BlaizeV Exactly! I’m not saying there’s no fun value but when I played them personally it was more The Room levels of fun bad, it had some cool ideas but it should never even touch the top 10 here.

@DennisReynolds I’d say to be #1 you have to do more than just inspire far better games by being an awful game, imo anyway.

Shenmue at #1 is absolutely hilarious, awful games, never understand why some people have such nostalgia vision for such a lacking series.

The Switch 2 is the perfect console if you’ve only been on the Switch 1, because you’re getting access to so many third party big hitters on day one that you never had access to before.

But along with the awful pricing of first party games (£75/$80 for the standard edition of Mario Kart World physically) and the barren first party lineup on launch compared to past generations, it’s probably an easier generation than many to miss out on launch if you play on other platforms.

I’m sure by 2026/2027 the Switch 2 will become a must buy console for all gaming fans, but it all depends on what games come along by then.

The FromSoft game seemed like an amazing pickup until I found out it’s another MP extraction game, I’ll pass on that.

@tameshiyaku No PS5 games were ever £75/$80 at launch for the standard editions, don’t change history to suit your narrative.

Also the most I’ve ever seen a digital standard edition priced here in the UK on PSN is £70, Nintendo look to be going lower at £66.99 via press releases but that is the ploy to funnel gamers away from physical, just like Sony do with the digital console pricing and the “optional” disc drives.

Of course you will be able to get the Switch 2 games for cheaper via third party stores, but the principle they’re setting will now ripple through all the big publishers and the digital marketplace will become even more of a rip off than before.

And I’m not discarding the value of Nintendo games? Why assume that? I have multiple Nintendo games in my T25 games of ALL TIME and have owned every Nintendo generation day one, this will be the first I don’t buy day one because the pricing of games and accessories is awful atm and the launch library is a little lacking, I don’t want to pay £400 for a Mario Kart machine, I’ll get one when it’s also packed with all the other Nintendo games I love (including Mario Kart World which looks great!)

It’s a bit of a joke that they’re steaming ahead with the sequel while Astroneer is still an awful port on PS5.

@GoodGame £425ish with Mario Kart bundle, but switch 2 games are now 80 dollars physically.

Nintendo are charging £75 for physical switch 2 games and 80 dollars.

Worst company ever, if this was Sony it would be an uproar.

The trailer looked really bad tbh, looked like you took loads of assets and just threw it together without a coherent vision.

I’ll wait to see more before I even think about getting a Switch 2 as even though the price is good, the launch line up is a bit barren for my tastes.

Hopefully Ubi see it as enough of a success to not risk good people losing their jobs.

@Jey887 It’s definitely case by case,

I used the Portal and Chiaki4Deck and neither felt good; then switched to the PXPlay app on Linux and it runs better than either, and also the SteamDeck is leagues above the Portal in terms of it’s OLED screen and ergonomics.

But some people who have steam decks found the portal better and vice verse, that’s the beauty /s of cloud devices and streaming.

Having owned a PS Portal, the Steam Deck also streams games on the PS5 better than the Portal too.

Of course you’re paying double the price of a Portal, but as using it for PC games that perform better than on console, old gems you can’t access on consoles and for a better remote play experience than the portal, it’s a no brainer.

Not an issue for me personally as own the collection on Steam and Xbox, but I can see Microsoft really milking the novelty of Halo on PS.

Don’t be surprised if it’s a Halo 1-3 collection for £70 and a ODST x Reach combo pack for £50.

In comparison, I got the entire collection with Halo 4 (the ugly duckling) too for £8.49.

So just be wary and as hard as it may be, wait for a sale, so you’re not getting robbed in broad daylight.

Still haven’t even played my copy but good to know I’ll be getting a polished experience

@RoomWithaMoose It won’t release in the holiday as then it’ll be going up against GTA 6 and it’s already been reported that no publisher wants that fate so it has to be early fall at the latest.

Summer 2025 just feels right, fingers crossed it doesn’t get delayed, so so excited for this.
