This sucks and my heart goes out for all who lost their jobs, hoping them all to get back on their feet asap.

We still have exodus to look forward to when it comes to ex bioware devs so I won’t lament this loss on the creative side just yet, but would’ve been nice to see the concept arts turn into something.

The story, world and characters in Concord weren’t too bad, it was just everything else that sucked.

Sony could make something out of this IP yet if they took it into animation instead of games.

@Jrs1 it’s not a handheld with its own unique library, it’s made for existing PS5/PS4 titles, so support isn’t the worry here, especially seeing as the Portal has been well supported since launch.

McGregor for all his entertainment, has repeatedly proven himself to be a heinous individual, so this news wasn’t a shock to me, just glad the victim got some form of compensation.

In terms of the DLC, if they’re removing it entirely I hope those who paid get a full refund.

My ambitious guess is a Venom trailer at TGA.

About 4 hours in so far, the game is pretty good! The dialogue can get a bit Young Adult level of cringe at times but the amount of choices are more than I expected, the visuals are great, and I’m digging the combat/level design.

Not a masterpiece but not the trash pile a lot of people were desperately hoping it would be.

@RedRiot193 I’ve played Veilguard and encountered no issues, looks and runs great, DD2 is the best console port in terms of its performance, with RT on there’s some shimmering but it’s not distracting outside of the towns, SW Outlaws looks better than the base performance mode and balanced mode, just needs to sort out some of the traversal frame dips and some minor shimmering.

Dying Light 2 is another third party that looks and runs great on Pro, same with Black Ops 6, Callisto Protocol, Hogwarts Legacy and F1 24.

@RedRiot193 Don’t think we can say “mostly” a bust when only 2 games on pro have big issues; being AW2 and SH2.

@Rich33 Stellar Blade and Demon Souls look and run better using PSSR.

GOWR looks the same but runs 10 frames better at 120fps mode with TAA rendering instead of PSSR.

@Major_Player if PSSR was the main issue we'd see all games suffering, but I've had multiple great games with PSSR looking cleaner than FSR/TAA. Consistency in dev implementation is the issue.

@breakneck Metaphor is one of the best games released this year, System Shock is a stunning remake and if you like Bioshock or
Prey (Arkane) you'll love this especially at the price it’s at!

Unicorn Overlord I’ve not played but seen people loving it so if you’re into those fire emblem kinda style RPGs it could be worth a buy!

@OldGamer999 £430 for a digital series x is laughable man, Xbox really should’ve done some crazy bundles with gamepass, advertise them as cod bundles, that would sell well!

GTA DE Trilogy is now £21.99 for PS5! Bargain seeing as the PS4 disc version was stuck with no upgrade path.

This is great stuff, but it begs the question, why on earth was it allowed to release in the way it was, not only did it do the gamers who bought it a disservice but also the developers, as clearly they weren’t ready to ship it given how many key features are making their way into the game only now.

Ubisoft keeps trying to over monetise and chase trends without realising that’s not what’s gonna keep people around buying your games, what keeps people around is releasing FINISHED and POLISHED titles.

I’m looking forward to starting my Outlaws playthrough soon but can’t help but feel it should’ve been coming out around now, especially with how Shadows was delayed anyway.

@OldGamer999 the only thing I can think of mate was the day one patch didn’t come out till after most reviews went live, prior the patch SkillUp was getting drops to 30fps on a 4090 with 64GB of ram, so the only thing I can imagine is the game came in HOT hot during the review period, I’ll keep an ear out for more user reports, as I was so hyped for this game.

Watching the Skill Up review and listening to the Kinda Funny Gamescast, not only does the game look broken as hell, it also seems like a truly awful story with a lack of direction with underbaked systems and lazy quest design.

The atmosphere seems exquisite and the visuals (when working) are magnificent but I’m probably not even going to give this a chance on Gamepass right now, this is going to be one of those games where you don’t actually start it till 4-6 months after release.

It seems like the only thing added was PSSR but was an older sloppier version and it’s head butting with FSR causing artifacting, I think the resolution of performance mode was still a base 930p so really poor implementation.

@ChimpMasta Digital Foundry confirmed that in this case Silent Hill 2 is pro enhanced, it’s just an awful patch, so on this occasion Sony weren’t legally wrong.

@PuppetMaster Hermen was the one behind the Physint deal with Kojima so I wouldn’t write off his influences for this, but this is more about the Manga side of Kadokawa so is more the money side of the CEO partnership.

In my opinion, if you can’t play a DLC without owning the original base game, then it should never be in the conversation for “game” of the year.

@Oregondan what constitutes as a "woke" game? BG3 was considered as woke by some, but it was a roaring success. Where as games like SW Outlaws or DA Veilguard didn't fail because they were woke but due to deeper rooted issues within their very gameplay design.

Smaller budget games have to be actually good to play though, Slitterhead was a cool idea that was butchered and half assed in its approach, and its official Twitter acting like a spoilt child isn’t helping its case.

@AFCC I respect your opinion entirely but you can’t trash FF7 Rebirth for it’s storytelling and acting then say how Wukong deserved it’s nomination when it’s far FAR worse in those aspects.

Elden Ring DLC over Silent Hill 2 all because Geoff hates Konami, if you don’t laugh you cry I suppose, happy to see Balatro get recognised, I still think it should be FF7 Rebirth walking the award but apart from Wukong or Erdtree I’m happy with any of the others winning.

This is disappointing and frankly needs to be sorted as it’s downright broken on the pro with the shimmering issues, seemingly coming from an older version of PSSR and FSR head butting and causing artifacting and shimmering galore.

However I’m not gonna moan too much as it should be sorted soon, just means I can play other games first that aren’t issues on the pro! 💙

@Kidfunkadelic83 yeah the combat seems really good and the music I’ve heard? bloody phenomenal, I’ll try the demo later tonight and then I guess we’ll see whether the backlog gets any larger 🤣

I have to try the demo for this and see if it’s for me, my view of the game itself has been warped by all the twitter pervs online but that’s not fair to the devs so I’ll definitely give it a go as it looks similar to Nier Automata which I love, also fitting timing now the 2B dlc is out!

I loved Elden Ring, I liked most of SotE, but it’s nowhere near the best FS DLC released let alone the best game released this year, I can name 5+ games better off the top of my head released this year, hopefully it doesn’t get nominated otherwise it’s a farce.

I would rather have casted Daisy Edgar-Jones or Hailey Atwell, but some people are judging Sophie way too early and writing her off prematurely, I still remember how forum users on the internet reacted when Robert Pattinson was cast as Batman, same way fans reacted when Heath Ledger was cast as The Joker, fans aren’t always right, so I’ll happily give her a chance here, especially seeing as the series is being headed by the marvellous Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone are optimized for PlayStation 5 Pro:

Launch Features:
Using Sony's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Black Ops 6 supports a higher image quality when running at 4K and 60 Hz.

New PlayStation 5 Pro quality settings: higher quality shadows, ambient occlusion, reflections and screen space global illumination (unique to Quality Mode).

Players can also opt to play at 120 Hz for greater performance; on the PS5 Pro 120 Hz mode has the same image quality as the PlayStation 5 running at 60 FPS.

With Season 01:

New variable refresh rate mode that with the allows our highest image quality mode to often exceed 60 Hz on compatible display devices (120 Hz VRR).

@Ralizah A lot of these things are the exact same for all of the big three though. Nintendo also have raised their prices compared to in the past including on their first party games and are even stricter with their price drops on software compared to Sony, lets also not forget how Joy Cons are still overpriced and rarely on a good discount especially considering how they’re the worst made controllers out of all three companies in terms of reliability.

Sony themselves have used the PS5 Pro being a niche product to shield themselves from it’s price being a looming shadow for future consoles so I’m sure they’re not THAT stupid to step onto a rake so soon after this entire debacle, the PS5 Pro itself is already seeing price cuts of £50 across retailers in the UK, so that goes against everything you’ve just said with price gouging.

Enthusiasts are not the ones who get a PS6, they’re part of it of course but there’s many casual customers, parents and people wanting a PS6 who would’ve skipped the pro just for the new generation, the PS5 wasn’t obscenely priced after the PS4 Pro, so I don’t see how this will be the same, if it is I’ll eat my hat but luckily I can’t see that happening.

The only sticker is if a disc drive is included in the below £600 model, that is a very real problem compared to the phantom worries of some inflated priced PS6.

@carlos82 The PS4 generation was an insanely cheap generation, we all remember how much Sony lost back then on consoles sold per unit, and let’s not forget this was pre COVID, which whatever you think about it, has affected electronics and specially games consoles, Sony have spent the whole time saying that the PS5 Pro is priced like it is because it’s a niche product, even current Sony aren’t stupid enough to shoot themselves in the foot that badly, it may be £599.99 but it’ll still be cheaper than the PS5 Pro, it’s just the way it’s always works, by the time the PS6 drops we’ll have the PS5/XSX price dropping to lower than ever seen levels too let’s not pretend they’ll stay at their current price for the next 4 years.
