We hope you like Assassin's Creed, because it sounds like you'll be seeing a lot more of it over the next few years.
Ubisoft has apparently mapped out the next six years of the franchise, breaking it up between tentpole 'RPG' games, remakes of older titles, and multiplayer-focused projects.
This is according to the ever-reliable Insider Gaming, who have provided an overview of what they currently know about the popular series, and how it's being handled behind closed doors.
Nine Assassin's Creed games in six years is supposedly the plan — but it's important to note that not every title will be on the scale of, say, Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Indeed, those bigger projects — referred to as the 'RPGs' — are reportedly targeting a two to three year release cycle, while the aforementioned remakes and multiplayer efforts fill the gaps in between.
Interestingly, there are supposed to be three remakes in the pipeline. One is the Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake that's been rumoured for quite some time, and another seems to be in early development — but Insider Gaming is "currently unclear" on what that second remake actually is.
The third, meanwhile, is simply pencilled in at this point.
Elsewhere, 'Scarlet' is the next big RPG that's coming after 'Hexe' — Hexe being the previously leaked project that's been in development alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows. It's meant to launch once Shadows' support ends in roughly two years — which is in itself an interesting detail.
But then we've got the likes of 'Invictus' — a multiplayer title inspired by Fall Guys — and the potentially PvE-driven 'Emerald'. It's safe to say that Ubisoft's keeping its many studios busy.
