What a game this is, and it is massively helped by running at 60fps and near instant loading of menus / areas. Marvellous

@JohnF1980 I've noticed a lot of weird visual bugs with it, wall textures popping in and out, and in one of the tombs there was a some horrible glitch where bits of the structure would disappear and reappear. My lightsabre disappeared at one point too. I think there'll be a patch soon

@W0rl0ck not for me, although I only briefly tried. Loaded up my platinum save and just got the one trophy pop, going to have a play around later and see if doing certain things forces a pop of any. I reckon it's Borderlands 3 again though, something wonky that only makes the odd one work

It's weird you can't get the PS5 version through EA Play, this seems more like an oversight on EA's part, because you can get the PS5 versions of sports games.

I've got the disc copy and transferred my save over hoping for a free Platinum, but it only popped the one trophy, which was for having a full crew. Looks like this is more like Borderlands 3 than Miles Morales, which is a shame, because I don't think I can be arsed to play it in full again

@mrobinson91 same here man, I bought a Series X through XAA last week, was relatively non-plussed about Xbox (loved the 360, never touched a One), but it's blown me away how good it is. I installed the three FF13 games from my old 360 discs, and they're running in 4K / 60 with optimisation, it's proper love for back catalogue games. I still think the interface is a bit of a pig, and the store seems like a disaster zone, but as a system / service combo with Gamepass, it's knocked my socks off

@get2sammyb If they paid more than six dollars they might get someone that COULD figure it out!

@Rob_230 Gamepass is all downloads, there's no streaming at all (on the console versions), so in that sense GP is actually better.

And everyone shat on Smart Delivery as a "gimmick"...

No blocked upgrades, no dual installations, no save file conversion, no convoluted service support.

It's almost like it is a great idea.

@Mezzer in a world of day one patches, switched off servers and licence expirations, you don't really own physical games any more either.

If Sony had any sense they'd list everything on the store for 99p until shutdown day, they'd take a buttload of money for not doing a lot. In a few days you can't buy them anymore anyway, so why not?

PS1 and PS2 for sure, even PSP / Vita, but couldn't care less about PS3 support. The games aren't old enough to be retro, so they're just janky sub-par experiences. Also, the installation and maintenance of games was such a balls he, that it honestly my least favourite console of all time

@JustPlainLoco There's literally nothing else to buy though, that's part of the issue, PS5 just has no games. So pretty much everyone that eventually manages to nab a PS5 is buying a copy

I really enjoyed it and got the Platinum, but it was a bit of a slog towards the end. A very, very good game though, and I hope there's a sequel

They've got a fix lined up, it'll just be £9.99 to get it installed, because you didn't buy the game on a Tuesday afternoon between the hours of 2am - 4am, so you've missed the window.

I've just requested a refund, I bought it on the 11th of Jan, specifically for the PS5 version! Haven't even downloaded it. Here's hoping for my money back, but I'm not too optimistic

Unsurprisingly, they've refused a refund. I'm a little aggrieved, but it's not the end of the world. Just one more log on the dumpster fire that has been Control and the PS5 version

As much as I would LOVE a full remake of the first game using the RE engine because it is a beautiful thing, especially using the new Jill / Chris character models, new design Hunters etc, I also think it would be maybe milking it just one too many times. The GC version is now the definitive version, even more so than the original / director's cut versions, so they should just leave them in the past.

Code Veronica would be lovely, especially as it was a different experience to the older tank based games and hasn't been touched, bar the small tweaks to X, since the original versions way back when.

I do think they're going to announce the remake of Resident Evil 4 however, especially since

***SPOILERS*** Resident Evil 3 has been retroactively adjusted to tie in to the events of 4 and La Plaga etc ***END SPOILERS***

and also it just feels super awkward to play now. I've completed RE4 probably 20 times on the GC and 360, but I've struggled with the PS4 version due to the controls. It feels the same way like when I try and play games like GoldenEye again. I think the RE Engine could do some really interesting stuff with the setting as well. Here's hoping!

My favourite thing about Murakami (apart from his writing, obviously) was going in to Waterstones and asking if they had any Harrackey Merackamy. It highly amused 19 year old me back in the day.

@Shigurui you can use your save too, just loaded up my end game save from the discs at the Fontaine fight and got all of the difficulty related trophies, the vita chamber ones and the good little sister trophy. Can now replay the game at a leisurely pace on easy to get the rest.

Bugsnax looked awful to me in that PS5 reveal, and I never would have played it without it showing up on Plus, but it's honestly brilliant. I'm loving it at the moment, and there's definitely a challenge there figuring out how to catch some of them. My kids are loving it as well, all three of us are working towards the platinum trophy for it.

Is it just me, or is the controller extremely irritating with Fifa? I was playing it last night on the PS5, and the controller was constantly making noises as the stamina based triggers kept having to adapt to different players. It seemed to get confused as well, with fit players getting hit with the stiff triggers. Definitely going to turn it off.

I'm confused, none of the action seemed to be to the beat. I'm well up for this, but I need to see proper gameplay in time with the in game audio, not an overlaid metal track

I hope they fix the 'bug' where it keeps trying to install the PS4 version as well. No Man's Sky doesn't seem to do it when you leave the disc in, but Borderlands 3 does it all the time, and it's pretty annoying. I know it's a minor thing, but it seems like an easy fix, just make PS4 disc installation a manually selected thing, problem solved!

Is it just me, or is the PS5 store rubbish as well? No links to sales etc. I might be looking in the wrong place to be fair, but it's not as intuitive as the PS4 one, which I thought was pretty good apart from not having wishlists and price sorting being based on the RRP, not the actual current price.

I managed to snag one from Amazon, and I'm absolutely psyched for tomorrow!

@pip_muzz No, I had it on the OG Xbox. Silent Hill 3 has also been released on the 360 as part of the remaster, so that's not really an exclusive any more either.

I don't read it at all like PushSquare seem to be. To me, it's reads that it's a First Light style game that takes the original game elements and engine and updates them for PS5, not the actual original game.

@djlard that's a terrible example. You own the PS1 FF7 on disc, so you could have put that in the PS3 and played it that way. The PS4 version is a port of the steam remaster, so it's not the same game as the PS1 version, in the same way that any HD remaster isn't the original.

I'm not usually one to whine about PS Plus games, but this is genuinely the worst I can remember. There's nothing at all for the "casual" crowd, no brand recognition, just two pretty hardcore simulators that have absolutely zero interest to probably 90% of the market. Yeeeesh.

@Ear_wiG I agree with that, there was so many corridors where I was thinking "why am I not fighting here?".

Especially having recently replayed FF12 which has a similar take on the world, but with so much more combat. I loved the FF7 remake, I've completed it and lent to a friend before I do my hard run, but the lack of combat in the game was a bit of a downer. I would have liked to be able to access the combat simulator or the coliseum in the same way you can do the trials in FF12 too, using your main save and reintegrating that data back into your save again after

RE3 always felt like an add on from RE2 to me, and was easily the worst of the PS1 games.
